Shastri was not a brahmin.

Desai too was not.

According to wikipedia Morarji Desai was born into an Anavil Brahmin family at Bhadeli village .

Rajiv was a parsi.

That can be technically right based on his father Feroze Gandhi .Then why was his last rites conducted according to Hindu Way of Cremation ? I remeber seeing Rahul Gandhi wearning a Sacred Thread and doing the last rites like any Brahmin . Parsis never burn the dead .They consider the fire very sacred .So my take on Rajiv is technically he may be a Parsi but he behaved like a Hindu only .

As regards Modi ,I doubt he is a Brahmin .

The Kuldev and Kuldevi of Anavil Brahmins are 'Sukleshwar Mahadev' and 'Garadi Mata' respectively, per Wikipedia. Hence, it seems Morarji Desai was a Smartha.

There were lot of Smartha PMs, I think.

The ascent of Modi is God send for India..India will stand tall in the comity of nations..An assertive Hindu India that will be the cynosure of all eyes

The deconversion of Muslims in Agra will definitely help BJP to craft an anti conversion law..There is another conversion ceremony planned on Dec 25 in Aligarh..The opposition will have no choice now

There is a general feeling that this conversion by some hindu outfit with media glare is a game changer. The parties are put in a dilemma whether to allow or ban conversion. Since bjp is ready for full debate on all issues the opponents are on back foot. A full scale debate on ngos, money inflow, literature, involvement of church etc will do good.

You mean Lal Bahadur Shastri , Morarji Desai, Rajiv Gandhi & AB Vajapyee were not Brahmins ?

Is Modi a Brahmin?

Rajiv Gandhi was a 50% Kashmiri Pandit, from his mother's blood; Atal Behari Vajapeyi is a 100% brahmin, from a family which must have performed the Vajapeya yaga at least once, though the surname Vajpai used to be given, I am told, only to priests who were adept at performing that yaga.

Narendra Modi belongs to the Modh-Ghanchi (oil miller) caste of Gujarat, which is equivalent to the Teli caste of UP, Bihar etc. Since he is not a brahmin, as per the theory enunciated by Shri Vaagmi Sir, nothing much need be expected from his rule.

Respected Sangom sirji in post #31:

Since he is not a brahmin, as per the theory enunciated by Shri Vaagmi Sir, nothing much need be expected from his rule.

In my first post on this subject I had said "I expect Modi to change this trend". Sangom Sirji may have a need to revisit his language skills basics once again before attempting to write a bhashyam on my theory. LOL.

Sangom Sir - You are right and India is heading towards plutocracy. As far as Modi is concerned he feels he is neither a BJP nor a RSS man. He only belongs to the lineage of Gandhiji, Patelji, Morarjiji. Thyaan baddha majaammon chhe.

Thank you Shri Iyya Sir!

My knowledge of Gujarati is close to nil, but is it ત્યાઁ બધા મજામાઁ છે |?
