I was thinking today..can we actually share notes?
Nope..we can't. We can only READ notes but not share.
There is a difference between reading and sharing.
Reading is gaining info.
Sharing is experiencing.
The notes of another might just "influence" us to become the clone of the original writer.
A true master does not want to make clones.
A true master asks you to understand his teachings..he does not even call it notes.
The moment something is noted down it is no more original becos when we note down we are allowed to correct the notes and it might not even be the same as our original thought.
Ever wondered by Vedas was passed by word of mouth and by hearing?
It cant really be becos men did not know how to read and write back then.It was becos early men wanted original thought to be passed down unadulterated by the pen.
The pen is mightier than the sword becos the sword only kills and case closed.
The pen is allowed to write..allowed to alter the subject and it kills in subtle ways.
So to know the Truth one has to drop the pen and surrender.
Stop taking notes..that will only make us become another person..a clone of another who wants to influence us.
Ever wondered why there is so much emphasis on Surrender?
I am not using the word Total Surrender becos if we grade Surrender than there should be even partial surrender and it does not make sense.
Total Surrender is an English word.
Sanskrit says Saranagati..It just means Surrender..the word Total is not there.
Now back to surrender..in Surrender there is no pen ..there are no notes.
When Arjuna surrendered to Krishna..he let his bow slip from his hand.
He did not hold his bow or hold a pen or even took down notes.
Krishna was not giving him notes..Krishna was not sharing notes.
Krishna said in the past He has spoken the same Geeta to the Sun God..but that was not recorded by pen..hence no Bhasya was written by men.
Then came other Yugas and everything got documented by the pen and Lo Behold even the Geeta became a subject of debate..it became a controversy.
Everyone wanted to be famous.
The easiest way to be famous is by stirring up a controversy.
Even in Forum the most controversial threads are the most active ones.
So now the question remains.."Does one learn by sharing notes"
No! Even after reading the best of teachers notes we still have to create our own experience in our mind.
A person who memorizes never truly understands..he just regurgitates.
So we have to decide..if we want to regurgitate or we want to actually know.
