    The famine facing Yemen is a war crime - it must be investigated

    Today the UN security council will debate a UK-drafted resolution containing a rather gentle entreaty to the warring parties in Yemen. It will ask them to take “constant care to spare civilian objects, including those necessary for food production, distribution, processing and storage”. The truth of a Saudi-led coalition, armed by Britain and the United States, which from the very start of the conflict in 2015 has sought to use starvation as a weapon of war.

    Cows force-fed water for 12 hours to increase weight before being slaughtered at abattoirs in China

    A pair of Chinese abattoirs have been accused of pumping cows with water for up to 12 hours, to artificially increase their weight before slaughter. Police arrested dozens of workers in eastern China's Anhui province last week, according to the South China Morning Post which originally reported the story. "Clearly this is a highly invasive and deeply unpleasant thing to do to any animal, but particularly animals already likely very stressed and fearful from being in the slaughterhouse environment in the first place," Wendy Higgins, a director at Humane Society International, told The Independent

    Women march in Dublin wearing underwear to demand rape trial reform

    A group of women have been marching in the streets of Dublin wearing nothing but underwear to demand rape trial reform in Ireland. The protest follows a recent rape trial in Cork, during which a 17-year-old girl’s underwear was used against her as evidence in court. During the trial, senior counsel Elizabeth O'Connell told the jury that they should consider the underwear that the teenage girl was wearing during the alleged rape.
 
My B. I. L. recently compared the policy of "No immigrants allowed" to the local bully who manages to enter the train compartment first and then blocks the others from entering! :hand:

Mumbai: RPF books 87 bully commuters in a day for not allowing people to enter trains

In order to curb the menace of groups of commuters stopping others from entering the local trains, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of the Western Railway (WR) has booked 87 bully commuters.
