Think or sink!

It is sad that often the children have to keep their parents bound to keep them safe and away from troubles.

I heard that a son is keeping his aged mother bound to the chair so that she will not go away on her own outside the house!

I suggested a bigger sized playpen so that she will have some freedom of movement but not too much of it!

If we can have adult diapers... Why not adult playpens???

A friend in need is a friend indeed.
Not just friends but also blood relatives!

A crisis (real or imaginary) brings out the truth
as to how much people really care for us
though they may give 'lambaa chowdaa bhaashaN'
about their love us and care for our welfare!

My luggage which looked like a tiny match box in comparison to the

32" giant Pullman brought by the other passengers caused

a lot of curiosity by its dimensions and negligible weight ( < 5 K.G).

These days too little luggage may also cause suspicion since

it might be considered as a one way trip or some such weird thing!

Some people feel perfectly alright outside their home.

But when back at home, they suffer in misery.

the reason ... they happen to live in a sick building!

This is called as Sick Building Syndrome!

Where we live is as important as where we are born!

For those who don't have much time to spare...

sick building syndrome

noun: sick building syndrome

a condition affecting office workers, typically marked by headaches and respiratory problems, attributed to unhealthy or stressful factors in the working environment such as poor ventilation.

Some people will open a sentence with these words,

"I will tell you a nice joke now!"

If it is really a nice joke it won't need such an introduction.

So it is more of a warning in disguise...

"Smile / laugh now or else...@&#%$"

I have heard of people living in/on suitcases.

But I have also seen a person who literally lives in suitcases.

After every trip, a Pullman will go out of circulation.

The reason...???

It will never get emptied of its contents.

It will remain packed for ever, after that trip!

It is OK if we have place to keep all the Pullman standing independently.

What happens if another trip materializes?

Simple! Another Pullman will go out of circulation.

This arrangement is OK so long as that person does NOT need a particular

garment. But when he does, he will have to dive into each of those bags and

fish out the required dress, after an exhaustive and exhausting search!

INERTIA can and does exist and exhibit itself in many different forms!!! :couch2:

An operation can be classified into two thus.

A Major operation .... one performed on oneself.

A Minor operation .....one performed on anyone else!

Have you heard the story of the gentleman who requested his surgeon to make the

incision made for his operation longer than those of his wife and M.I.L put together???

Poor guy had a solid reason
for making this weird request !

He was sick and tired of their bragging about the length of the scar left by their operation!

Gold part # 1.

Gold is the most brilliant and the most sinister metal known to man! It had influenced human history and caused bloody wars, arson, looting, and other heinous crimes which have been committed to win this yellow metal.

In Tamil it is called as "Aatkolli" meaning "slayer of human beings". It is one of the three desires a man should guard himself from! The other two are power and women.

Extreme greed and its harrowing consequences are best conveyed by the story of King Midas. He sought a rare boon from Dionysus, the God of wine, that whatever he touched should be transformed into pure gold. He was thrilled to find that everything he laid hand up on was transformed into pure gold-until it was his dinner time!

When the royal food and drink he touched transformed to gold it became quiet another story. He begged the God to take back his boon. A combination of unlimited greed and utter lack of imagination! Can any one eat or drink Gold?

But one can live in a gold palace, sleep on a gold cot and bathe in a gold tub!

Here is the story of the gold bath tub!

Designer blouses with elaborate embroidery work and stone work used to be worn by movie stars.

In the past heroes like M.G.R. Gemini Ganesh wore them when they played the role of kings.

Then the female stars started wearing them. Now everyone who can afford a designer blouse seems to

be wearing it. The stitching charge varies between Rs 3000 and Rs6000 depending on the complexity

of the work done on the blouse.

I for one found out that the blouse will fall off the shoulders but for the colorful string tied at the nape

of the neck. The deep neck came down to the hemline at the back!

Most of the brides outgrow their costly blouses soon after the wedding!

The multi color must be very attractive to street dogs which find pleasure in

charging and chasing the fortune teller popularly known as gudugudupaaNdi.

Is it good that heroes appear with salt and pepper hair
( to suit their real age) in the Tamil movies now?

Or is it a sad/ shocking sight to see them dance, play drums
and fight like young men ( which does suit their looks /age)??

Everybody wants to earn money - without doing the work that goes with that money!

Just relax your supervision for a few days/ weeks and the house will become a dirty dungeon.

I like the Hindi word "Kaamchor" which describes such people perfectly!

They do not 'steal the work' but our money and our faith in them.

A lady wanted her husband to be discharged from the hospital soon after the hernia operation planned for him. But the doctors wanted him to stay overnight to make sure that everything was alright after the surgery.

The lady contacted a doctor in a clinic in another city in which he was asked to stay in hospital for five full days!

'Guru Shopping' may work out well but 'Doctor Shopping' often backfires!

In the Registration confirmation for Immigrant VISA (D 260)
it is clearly stated. "This is not a VISA" (in bold red letters!)

People are advised NOT to resign their jobs, not to sell their properties
and not to do many other things besides.

NOW I fully understand WHY!!!

I friend of mine sold everything she had
(vessels and bed sheets included)
to go and settle with her sons in USA.

Soon she came back for reasons unknown to me
and thenhad to buy every every thing anew.

I liked the example given by our guru.

Even a caterpillar will let go of one leaf
ONLY after it has caught hold of another leaf.

Should not a man - the master of six senses
and numerous faculties - be more cautious??? :moony:

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE NEED NOT BE ALWAYS BETWEEN THE SPOUSES. IT CAN BE BETWEEN THE PARENT AND A CHILD ALSO. OH BOY! AM I GLAD THAT THE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD WILL COME TO AN END TOMORROW WHEN THE SCHOOLS REOPEN AFTER THE SUMMER VACATION AND THE KIDS WILL BE SAFE - AWAY FROM THE PUNISHING HANDS OF THEIR PARENTS!
