Think or sink!

The shorter the word the more places it can be used in

and the more words it can be associated with!

I found two small orange magnets resembling the human hands in the garage.

I set them on the fridge door but something was not right.

They appeared to say "STOP"every time I looked at them

Making them point down did not help either.

Nor did placing them horizontally side by side pointing the opposite directions.

Then the truth dawned on me!

The ideal setting was the Abahya Varada Hastam of (any) God.

Now they look perfect and spread positive energy in the room!

Strangely Lord Buddha is also sporting these two hasta mudras!

But in dance we use the dhyana mudra to denote Lord Budhdha.

The Liberty Bell.

It is difficult to tell,
How long you will
Keep feeling well,
Fit as a silver bell.

What had been a bell,
Is now The Liberty Bell;
Cracked when it fell,
And on its way to dell.

Once from favor fell,
Life becomes a hell;
Things they try to sell,
And put you in a cell!

They cast bad spell,
Spread a foul smell;
Facing a bomb shell
Makes you feel swell!

One feels very unwell,
With this unkind yell;
When unable to dwell,
Better to bid a farewell!

This is my Take on மை !

Thank you Mrs. J.J. for your valuable contribution to this thread! :welcome:

Every writer owes these to his / her readers -

who spend their valuable time in reading what he she wrote!

There must be something informative, interesting, insight,

humorous, entertaing or create awareness of somethig important!

To put it in nutshell..... the post must be useful for everyone who reads it. :thumb:

It is NOT just to let out one's own negative feelings and filth in the public! :yuck:

Fear of a bad fall seems to exist world wide. :fear:

For seniors all the problems start with a bad fall - most often in the kitchen or the bathroom.

There are the places where the treacherous and slippery oils/ soap/ combine with water.

Small wonder we opted for a bathtub slip resistant mat after sliding twice in the new bath

tub. They come in various colors, deigns and sizes.

Some are easy to maintain and the other a little more complicated.

DRY bath room looks, feels and smells good.

BUT Modern living has its benefits as well as dangers!

Small house is beautiful because we do not have place to litter and leave things lying around.

Being organized and orderly and always presentable sounds simple but takes a lot of time.

But being disorganized and unworthy of being presented does not take any extra time.

May be it DOES take extra time in the form of the Time used up in 'Finding the Lost articles'. :clock:

The secret of house keeping....

Everything HAS a place and

Everything is in its place!!! :)

The alchemist.

He was a great chemist,
Till he became an economist.

He then became an alchemist,
His eyes were in a dreamy mist.

When he was a good chemist,
He was also an optimist.

When he became an alchemist,
He also became a pessimist.

He slowly became an extremist,
He badly needed a hypnotist!

Small house is beautiful because we do not have place to litter and leave things lying around........
Not always! :nono:

I have seen a few hostel rooms in I I T M campus and a rabbit can easily hide in the things scattered on the table!

Better NOT to talk about the bed! :becky:

Keeping the house clean depends on the people living in it!

There was the house which had skins shed by snakes and baby snakes

jumping up the staircase right in the busiest room which was always occupied! :scared:

All the big shopping bags were given to the servant and she took them home.

When she turned them upside down more snakes fell down on the floor!!!

Sneaky snakes or careless house owners???

I was wondering how to spend my free time usefully, after completing TiruManthiram

Then a brainwave occurred. May be I can resume my music classes, in addition to

teaching Tamil, Sanskrit Slokas, Vedic chanting of Suktas, Rudram, Chamakam, Vishnu
1000 naama, Lalitha 1000 naama, Lakshmi 1000 naama, Sreeman NaaraayaNeeyam, Soundharya Lahari, Abhirami Andhadi, Bhaja Govindam to name a few.

God always guides me and helps me. So like the confused Arjun who prayed to Krishna with humility with the famous words "kaarpaNya doshO pahatha swaabhava:"
I am praying to God for His divine guidance and assistance!

Here life is busy since both the couple work.

Weekends are busier than the weekdays. :washing:

A lot of pending work and cleaning work to catch up with! :bump2:

In spite of all these they manage to spend some time :car:

away from home whenever the weather is friendly!

The students.

Students are under pressure,
A secure future to ensure!

They take every possible measure,
And sacrifice every possible pleasure.

They do not waste time in leisure,
They are keen on more exposure,

It is the time for us to assure,
They are the Nation’s treasure.

Time to act promptly and insure
Their fruitful lives and composure.

Nowadays Students are under pressure, it is true
but the parents are under greater pressure, except a few

Very true sir!

I HAVE the parents revising the important lessons and formulas :blabla:

while the children spend their time in selective listening and DAY DREAMING!!! :(

Unless the children themselves decide to study well, nobody can make them study well!

It is NOT just for the kids studying that parents get tense, exhausted and vexed.

Every activity of the children often demands these three on the part of their parents.

By the time little Juju gets ready for her Piano class , the whole household is tense, exhausted

and vexed - but she keeps her cool and watches the drama as a 'mere saakshi!'

Should I feel happy that she has learned the highest philosophical teaching and puts it into

action or should I feel for the amount unnecessary tension she is causing in everyone else??

I am sad to read about the acute shortage of water in Coimbatore now.

If water is supplied once in 10 or 12 days, what will people do

to meet the daily requirements for the various needs?

I can't but recollect this poem filled with pathos!

The cool baby sitter.

The cool baby-sitter
Was also a go-getter.

She acted like a blotter,
With words soft as butter.

Whenever you feel bitter,
She made you feel better.

She was an expert in chatter,
And knew well how to flatter.

People here love to eat out - if possible every day and every meal!

So it is surprising that kids have their own elaborate Play Kitchen.

Parents do not seem to mind the cost of this virtual kitchen

or the useful space it takes up in their house!

Cutting the colorful vegetable with a play knife is the favorite past time of many children.

The pieces are fixed using Velcro and the
veg can be cut and reassembled any umber of times

like the Vatapi in the tale of Agasthya.

In fact Tarun does only this and does not care about his 100s of toys he has besides this.

For everything, there is a price. For the sake of a happy tomorrow for our children, we have to sacrifice our today's pleasure. We live on hopes

Also this play kitchen may teach the children the dignity and importance of culinary arts and science!

I remember having read that once Mr. Obama told the school children to eat home cooked food
which are cheaper, cleaner and also healthier in the long run.

I feel amazed watching the skill of my two sons who cook better than me. :)
This is in spite of my NOT teaching them any cooking until they left to USA!

They know more, they try different styles and make eating a very pleasant experience!
My younger son and D.I.L not only cook well but also bake divine dishes!

UNLESS I am very careful I may put on a lot of weight and never even realize it -
until I stand on the scary scales - which may say "One at a time please!" !!!

Your teo sons cook well in spite of your NOT teaching them cooking or because of NOT teaching them cooking. Kust kidding. Don't take it as an offence. I have always been feeling that kids both male and female should be taught cooking. In our days we were prohibited to enter the kitchen. "இதெல்லாம் பொம்பளைங்க சமாசாரம்" days are over. I feel the pinch of it now after the demise of my wife
