Very interesting! Is it the smell of filter coffee or is it the wafting smell of rasam or is it the smell of jasmine or is it the smile of your adoring better half?

I prefer the smile rather than anything else...Wat if smile is embellished with jasmine..That will be wow!

When I return home after any outing or shopping - alone / with Ram,

I have a wash, rush to the kitchen to prepare something to drink!

Namaste,

Your query reminds me of all the evenings that I used to return back from work empty-stomached and longing for a full meal, all but to prepare by myself!

However I am also reminded of my second pregancy when I used to get special treatment from hubby, in him returning earlier than me to cook a nice meal as a treat, every single day! Or if not, atleast he would make me some nice 'oothappam', 'dosa' or 'idli' from the batter! :)

Once I ate 10 oothappams in a row as he kept making and making for me! I guess pregnancy made me extra hungry but I am still thankful for my hubby for all the cooking he did for me throughout my pregnancy!

Start emptying the snacks like kaanja maadu kambula.. then suffer from digestion issues in night wondering why did I eat that much!

Well, that was special for the 'pregnancy' status! Wish I could have made more children, just to enjoy this privilege! :)

dear JR,

You made me remember my pregnancy.

I still remember when I was pregnant it was my husband who was eating sour raw mango dipped in vinegar.

He would buy it from the Chinese pickle shop and eat it!LOL

Then he used to only want to drink real sour orange juice.

I used to wonder why he had symptoms of a pregnant lady!LOL

Then I also noticed his face looked more handsome than usual...he had such a glow on his face.

After I delivered he did not feel like eating sour mango anymore.

But the pregnancy time is the best cos we females get VIP treatment from husband and get to eat we want.

I remember I was sort of craving vegetarian burger and he used to buy it for me when I wanted it.

Its not easy to get vegetarian burger here..only a few places have it so he had to drive really far to buy it for me.

Nice to think of pregnancy days!

 So, you have a 'soul mate' as hubby, Renu!

My hubby retired before me (age difference) ..Now me too retired ..But when I was working, I used to look forward to reaching home because many a times I would get a welcome with hot hot onion Bhajias and coffee or it not Bhanjias, it would be atleast some grand sweets murkukku or thattai and always with hot hot filter coffee. How I miss those days !!

Sushiji,

Thattai & Seedai from Grand sweets and Kai murukku & Mysore pak from Krishna Sweets really a good evening snack..Do not forget to carry them whenever I come to Chennai

Hi Renuka,

Nice... Very funny and interesting!

As you write it, I remember reading about this phenomenon elsewhere... Is there any scientific explanation for such a syndrome some men pass through?

Hi Renuka,

There is no scientific explanation but may be it has something to do with pheromones.

Dear Jayashree,

When I saw Renu's post about her dear hubby's behaviour, the two words that flashed in my mind are 'soul mate'!!

What are those?

Pheromones are chemicals secreted by animals that can alter the behavior of other animals around them.

In humans these has not be entirely proven but as Vgane Ji correctly wrote about a partner getting symptoms of pregnancy of his spouse is called Couvade syndrome but this too sort of debatable.

But after I had my child...my husband told me that one child is enough..no need to have another child.

I was very happy to hear that cos I too only wanted one child.

May be he did not want to get the "symptoms' of pregnancy again!LOL

BTW JR..my son and my husband share the same date of birth....so each year I buy 2 cakes..one for my son and one for my husband.

Wow! That's strange... because in my household too my daughter and my hubby share the same DOB (Nov 22nd) while my son and my hubby share the same nakshatra! (Aridra). :)
