Who are viswabramins ?

According to the general accepted norms, they are outside the brahmin definition.
Similarly there are Bhumihar Brahman in bihar, who are Kshatriya Brahmins , and land lords. Who eat meat but profess themselves to be Brahmins.

Nagars in Gujarat claim their superiority over brahmins, and claim descent from Greeks. They are very fair and blue eyes.
Similarly Nambodri-Brahmin claim their superiority over other Brahmins.

I do not understand the purpose of all these labels, except for chest thumping.

I am sure this will be disputed by "pure" brahmins.

If a person becomes a Brahmin (not by birth), then that person will have to find a new classification or accept one of the existing groups.

Just a glance of this matrimonial site shows:

There are sub-castes like 'Black smith', 'Brass smith', 'Carpentry', 'Goldsmith' and 'Shilpi'.

They have different mother tongues too!

I have seen goldsmiths and carpenters wearing pooNool, in our village.

They usually work after removing their shirts. :)

I have a cousin sister(NB) married to a person who said he is a Goldsmith Brahmin!

No one believed him when he said that but now I think may be what he meant was he was a Vishwabrahmin.

Poor guy he passed away a few years ago on a dentists chair when he was having his tooth extracted.
