Why do Dreams always end in good Part?

Dear P J Sir,

It may be because we wake up to find whether it is a dream or reality! Bad dreams seem to linger longer because even a few

seconds of it might seem to be too long! Just a thought.

Most of my dreams are about exams! I will be sitting in a hall with unknown faces and will not know the answer even to a single

question! In many other dreams, I will be in an unknown place with lots of water around and can not find the way back home!

Then my father will appear from nowhere and lead me, holding my hands, through some mountains! :lol:

Nothing beats my dreams...I had written in Forum before about this.

These dreams used to happen when I used to work in the government hospital.
I used to get dreams of seeing accident scenes..seeing dead people reaching out to touch me but separated by a thin barrier from me.

The next day when I get up and go to work..the same person I had seen the night before in my dream will be the same person dead in the morgue for me to do the post mortem.

The first time this occurred I was shocked..I was thinking "OMG I saw this guy in my dream last nite! and here he is today dead just like the accident I saw in the dream"

After sometime I got used to all these dreams and it aided me lots in determining cause of death cos I would have dreamt about it one night before.

These are in a way Scary type of Dreams; Your father has helped you in real life many time, so he comes in your dream too.
Nowadays i see my elder brothers who are no more often in my dreams.. it looks real as if they are here, but when i woke up , i realize that it was a Dream only; occasionally i see my dad also in my dream..

These are really scary ones.. but sweet dreams do not last long!! and when reaching a good part, we get up and there is no way of continuing it.. I tried many times to continue the dreams but it never happens!!

To be able to continue dreams one need to be able to have Lucid Dreams.


I am quite an expert in that!LOL


In Lucid dreams one is fully aware that one is dreaming and at the same time also aware what is going on in the room.It is as if one is awake but yet dreaming in one's mind.


One can temporarily disconnect from the dream..open the eyes for while..then close the eyes back and also try to alter the ending of the dream to make it pleasant and the duration of the dream also can be controlled..one can even change the characters in the dream too.


In most normal REM dreams one is not able to manipulate the outcome of the dream.


I have no idea how on earth I developed the ability for lucid dreams but it has been there since I was a child...so dreams can be fun too if we are into Lucid Dreams!

Is Lucid dreams similar to Day Dreaming? Because only in Day dreaming one can change the course of the dream and continue dreaming.
I day Dream a lot, gives me some happiness although they are not real!!

The other day I was dreaming myself in Chennai Marina beach watching the waves with my grand children, suddenly I woke up to see myself in US.

Many Good dreams always end when reaching a good part, but Bad and scary dreams linger longer!!

Personally for me, dreams don't end in 'good part'. They end only when they are not so good and I wake up with a start in a cold sweat. Only once I was convinced I was going to die... woke up as I was trying to escape... a vivid dream.. didn't even have cold sweat that time.

A nice dream just continues..... I remember few occasions I remember waking up twice and went back to sleep to continue the same dream.

You are very lucky person and probably one in 1000.
It is very difficult to continue any dream and you are really a blessed person.

I have only 1 type of dream: I am nearly always alone, wandering and travelling. Sometimes, I jump into this huge pit like thing....everything goes white, and then I wake up.

In some other dreams, I am usually talking to a few people, wandering off, meeting someone else, etc.

Nothing really funny occurs in my dreams, though sometimes I do see scenes of everyday life that really occur later in my life.

I can't say my dreams have ended in the good or bad part, I have had several "boring" dreams that just ended abruptly as well :)

Probably you do not think anyone will come to your help, hence you feel lonely, wandering , travelling in search of and jumping into the huge pit of troubles..
These are a bit scary type
My op is about really good nice dream ending suddenly.
 
In case of a good dream, it might end well, because when you are satisfied, at that point your mind has "fulfilled it's objective", so to speak. In the "optimal" state, the brain would probably reach a peak, causing interruption and/or waking up. That is just a theory.

And please don't call me sir, I am only 21 years old :)

Age does not matter when giving respect; as you are young, you must be lot of real life dreams and some of them are reflected in your dream; if you are in a foreign country , you naturally feel lonely and without support.
Falling into pit is an indication of going or choosing something wrong!!
These are my guess only.

Hahaha! I am not one in 1000 but just one amoung 1000! If one has a dream when going through a light sleep, it is quite possible to remember the dream and even possible to continue for a very short period. one doesn't have to be one in 1000 for that!

hi raghy sir,
i had a nice dream abt my love marriage.....like eloping and move away with my beloved....like his father/brother following us....

finally in reality ....it never happened....i was thinking that dream would be happened in reality.... i would be a different

person...personally i get dreams every day....but my wife ways that she never had dream in her life...is it possible?....

i myself wondered many times.....many people never get dreams in their life...but im really a dreamer in my life..ONLY

MY DREAMS END IN PART ALWAYS...LOL

Dear TBS, greetings.

I thought everyone had dreams in their sleep.

Relatives who passed away don't usually show up I'm my dreams but they do show up. But in my wife's dream, from what she says, they usually show up hungry, request her and gets fed by her.

In my dreams I have not done anything which I have not done in real life. Sometimes even now I get dreams about my life 25 years ago since I was really anxious in those years about the future of our family.

Some of the dreams were like a serial. Up to my age of 29 years, I used to dream about missing the bus or train either by seconds or by longer margin. I had a string of those dreams until in one dream I actually managed to catch the train.... I caught that train running full tilt on the platform. Then such dreams ceased to occur!

My dreams may have some connection to my life...... I don't know.
