Why Do Indian Women Wear Toe Ring
Wearing toe rings is not just the significance of married women but there is science behind it. Normally toe rings are worn on the second toe. A particular nerve from the second toe connects the uterus and passes to heart. Wearing toe ring on this finger strengthens the uterus. It will keep it healthy by regulating the blood flow to it and menstrual cycle will be regularized. As Silver is a good conductor, it also absorbs polar energies from the earth and passes it to the body.

Males too wear the toe ring during marriage.

Going by the logic given above I guess it might have the same effect on the analogous appendage.

Recently, I read in a blog that the 'kaNaiyAzhi' sent by Rama to Sita through Hanuman was the toe ring of Sita,

which she threw down along with her jewels, when Ravana abducted her. Wonder if kaNaiyAzhi means toe ring?

Even now, Renu!

It was practiced long time ago when women were walking, seeing the ground!

Now a days, it is 'nimirndha nadai; nEr koNda pArvai'! :thumb:

Dear RR ji,

When I was an unmarried girl my mum never allowed me to wear Kolosu. She said that Silver kolosu should be only be worn by married women becos someone told her that Silver on the feet activates the reproductive organs and reproductive drive that is not yet needed in an unmarried girl.

I didnt really follow that and wore Kolosu whenever I liked it.

I used to love wearing real loud Kolosu and walk around the house at midnight!LOL

These days sometimes I wear an anklet made of some crystals and bells..only when I feel like wearing it not always.

lady doctors need to learn from Dr PSN.lol

True...I need to do some investigations with regards to toe rings and males.

May be it could prevent prostate enlargement seen in 50 years and above.

Who knows?

So all oldies..run and get a silver toe ring..it could save your prostate!LOL

Ref #7 reminds one of ghosts in bollywood films where sounds of anklets and bells would take the hero to graveyards

chasing the female ghost.

no offense meant .excuse ladies

Dear Renu,

Some new info. to me about the kolusu! You have to see to believe the models of kolusu displayed in the jewellery shops

for all ages, right from new born! BTW, I saw some American women wearing kolusu in only one leg in the U S of A.

May be to indicate 'left is right; right is wrong' as guy's ear ring !! ;)

Mr.Krish,
I am only an ordinary poor man,and not like a specialist like you in all matters.
psnsir
these young ladies of modern days have a lot to learn from your experiences.

they think they know a lot after getting a degree.

only old timers with their wisdom and learning from living a whole life can pass on their

experiences for benefits of others. cheers

I am thoroughly dazed without knowing who amonst you is a singing ghost and who a golusu ghost and who a sick ghost. I am very much afraid of ghosts.

From what they have posted earlier they are proud of their grandchildren and now you are telling they are young ladies. What is the yardstick age for an young lady. It is a fact that most ladies like to be called only young ladies. Therefore you are correct and I am wrong.

any lady younger than us is a young lady.

anybody younger than us can benefit from our experience.

there is worldly wisdom which no education but living life can teach us.

many times older are wiser as they have seen it all.the good, the bad and the ugly

Guys...I might be right that silver toe ring for males might have a beneficial effect on prostate and prevent prostate enlargement in latter age.

I was looking up online and came to many sites that claim the usage of Colloidal/Ionic Silver for treatment of enlarged prostate.

So who knows if one starts wearing a toe ring and never take it off they might have reduced risk of prostate enlargement.

I have noted that most Indian traditions are gender biased that is all care if only for females..that is wearing silver toe ring is for uterus/heart..wearing gold is to attract positive energy,.wearing Pottu is to activate some Chakras etc but NO EMPHASIS...I repeat NO EMPHASIS ever is given for males for their endocrine/cardiovascular and reproductive system well being.

So for general well being males too should follow all traditional practices to make sure every married couple lives to see Sharadah Shatam(a hundred autumns)...So wake up before its too late..go get your silver toe rings!
