Dear Sri PJ Ji, Sir,

I have noticed a pattern in your threads. You seem to respond only to the posters you are comfortable with (nothing against Srimathi RR Ji). I noticed this with your other threads as well.

When you open a thread, and if others respond, it is my opinion that you understand that they do so willingly, enhancing that thread, even though you may not agree with the view point, giving their time and thought.

You have a larger responsibility to the members who post their views.

From. mango to changing names, I feel jilted by you. :)

Next time, I will think twice before responding to your posts. Sorry, if I have offended you. Just my observation.

Regards,
KRS

KRS Sir

I could not understand your post no 3, so i kept quite.
Also you said your name too long, and you shortened it, that too is confusing me , Is that mean KRS ?
I also for this site shortened my name from Padmanabhan Janakiraman to PJ but i can never do it when buying flight tickets.
That's the reason i did not respond to your post.

I have never won a duel against Raji Madam, She always comes up with new Twists to her posts.

renukaji is different, very straight forward; i can go on arguing with her without any damage to our friendship.

sangom Sir is more learned, although i may not agree with all his views, I find him extremely knowledgeable in all matters.

Please do not feel i purposely did not reply you. Sorry Sir

Dear Sri PJ,

My post was addressed to you personally.

Unfortunately, Srimathi RR Ji, came in the middle.

I am quite serious about the way you operate. Am I wrong?

My post is about the conduct of a thread owner, not about Srimathi RR Ji.

Please feel free to respond and don't hide behind Srimathi RR Ji.

Regards,
KRS

KRS Sir

You are having a very fruitful discussion with Raji Madam, I am just enjoying the posts.

There is a famous US congress woman from Houston, Texas, whose last name was 'Hogg' and her parents had the temerity to name her 'Ima'. She is 'IM A Hogg'! Sad.

There is also the instances of the Black Americans naming their children with exotic sounding names. So one mother picked the name 'placenta', without understanding the meaning.

My first name was 12 letters long. I changed it to 3 letters when I became a citizen here.

I think, all human beings have the right to change their names if they want to. :)

KRS

KRS Sir

I am really at a loss to understand about that Houston Woman.
Can you explain that pl?

Scholar or scoundrel, mind works in a funny way. Changing ones name could be one. Originally in India everybody is supposed to have a name according to one's Raasi. This custom is followed every where in the North. But due to bad deeds of some Maantrikas of Kerala the practice was discontinued 'officially'. But Maantrikas have been replaced by numerologists who help you to add or repeat a few letters to change luck. Mostly the rechristened guys become popular (?!) with immunity. Venkat became Venkatesh, Kothandaraman becomes Kondu, Dandapaani become Dandu. But still at home they might have been "saniyane", mundam, peedhe, darithram, udavakkarai, or kasamalam or even kammanatti. Oh what is in name. Kannamba is blind, ponnamma is goldless, mahaluxmi in half rags, and so on and so forth.

Sir,

Nowadays parents want short, new name for their baby, Not going by Astrology etc.
In Tamilnadu , Some name their baby after their Kuladeivam Like MUNEESWARAN, it becomes shortened later on and called as 'MUNI".

Raji Madam

Tamil Brahmin community is famous for keeping different names for the same person; one for School Recods, one for calling him at Home..
This is very confusing.
One peculiar name i came across is "KOZU' because the boy was very Healthy!!

You being the moderator (in your other role) can not be ignored. I have been told that I am going to be ignored, and being called some choice names. LOL

Dear RR ji,

One of the reasons my husband said he agreed to the marriage proposal cos he liked my name Renuka.

So once I asked him..."just say if my name was Ponnuthayi would you have married me?"

He said No!

renukaji

I was really laughing reading your post.. Ponnuthayi Doctor would have become my friend, no objection !!

There were instances in erstwhile centuries, when people from so-called-harijan community converted to christianity to escape harassment and their names were changed during baptism to biblical names, which would conceal their background.

This practice is being followed to this day in churches, regardless of caste-background of convert.

Dear K R S Sir,

I have good time reading your posts and replies by P J Sir!

When you wrote 'thread owner', I got really confused! You know why? Some time back, there was a big argument

and the conclusion arrived is this: There is NO THREAD OWNER in our forum! There are only OP s - Opening Posters!

They should NOT claim any ownership of the thread! :D

P.S: Many newbies open new topic and vanish, enabling the usually active participants to argue freely! :)

Dear Srimathi RR Ji,

I stand corrected. 'OP' it is :)

Now the trend is different. They give chaste Hindu names to Fathers even to attract "change of faith". Unfortunately, they have to do all these things and yet they are not sure.
