the western clothes accentuate the curves. they are more form fitting than either the sari or the salwar kameeze, where it is usually one size fits all, except xxxL.
nothing so awful, that to wear western clothes which are sizes smaller than appropriate, and have the flubs hanging out on the sides and elsewhere. ... and wearing oversized clothes also does not look good. i guess the west, atleast the modern concept of the western woman, with its adherence to waif like figures, is unrealistically hard on the women. i sympathize.
the sari is perhaps socialism idealized - one can be of any size, and still just as elegant as the other. even salwar cannot match this.

Yes western clothes especially tight elastene, lycra types are very very unforgiving of any little weight. Here many ladies wear tight tops and their fat on the sides spill out to what is known as "muffin top"
