Dear Folks,

We are witnessing a trend of increasingly brutal atrocities on women. Yesterday a dalit girl was raped and forced to drink acid and she died. These events are beginning to get more frequent. Generally, violence towards others is rapidly on the rise.

I strongly believe that spiritual power can bring this violence under control. I would want to focus my efforts first on violence towards women and try to bring it down drastically and finally stop it.

Everybody can contribute using positive thoughts. I am sure it will work as I have seen it personally work in my other efforts.
 
Good thought, Sravana ji, But now a days spiritualism is also quite confusing. Every religious thoughts have their own different version of spirituality. Many people try to put wrong influence on people in the name of religion and spiritualism. Many of the wrongdoing today has a religious/spiritual connection. First and foremost we need to make people aware about the good bad and the ugly so that they are able to choose the right path.

You may be right in your opinion that we can very well bring down the violence against women by spiritual power.

But I do believe that it can be brought down effectively repeat effectively ..only by enforcing the law, I mean strictly enforcing the existing laws.

Of course, the spiritual leaders, Guru jis, Seers, etc can preach about spreading love among their followers and I hope this will have more desirable effect.

Sorry to bring the religion here. It is in Hinduism we have more women Gods.

On one hand we have male devotees thronging to the temples of goddesses and on the other hand we hear news of violence against women everyday.

First and the foremost thing is, we have to study the root cause for such violence.

The society we live in is going to dogs with lot of sources to pollute the mind of few, which being, Porn, Dating, 'A' Certified movies, TASMAC, etc

And how are we going to deal with them....I mean through spiritual power..??

Thanks for your thoughts.

We need to separate spirituality from religion. I believe we need to present spirituality in an objective way just like a science with focus on spiritual energy and what good it can do for one. This is eminently possible because I can personally vouch for the existence of spiritual energy and also its benefits. What is required is a well devised strategy to make it credible and popular.

Dear Shri Vgane,

There are two problems here, one faced by the rapist and the other by the victim. Reformation of the rapist is the long term solution and that needs concerted and sustained efforts of many. It would basically change the mindset of the rapist or atleast create a deterrence. The other issue is offering protection to women in the short term and prevent the rape or any other violent act from happening. I am suggesting something like what was done before for control of chennai temperatures. Each should use his or her positive spiritual thoughts that will somehow work towards preventing rapes from happening. Believe me, positive thoughts have such power and many do not realize their own strengths. It is like prayer but instead of praying to an external God, you use the divine power within you and employ thoughts to control events.
 
My thoughts on this:
It is only the beginning in our society. It go from bad to worse as time goes. Then we will all go searching for a solution and will invent the wheel again. The solution is already there in the attic lying with other discarded items. It is called early marriage --not child marriage.
Hmm..... let us see.

Dear Shri VB,

I believe there are basically two types of people one who believe in and are attracted only to the gross and the other who are attracted towards subtle also.

But this being a kali yuga the disposition of the latter is also moving towards that of the former. so we have an overwhelming majority of those being or behaving like the first type only. But I also believe that the latter people can be made to turn towards their nature if they are made knowledgeable of the truth in a credible way. The other type will not inwardly change or at least it is very difficult to do that but they can be made to understand the credibility of the spiritual truths so that they dont show scant respect for the subtle things.

The only way this can be done is by showing that spirituality has practical value just like science in addition to giving solace to people. Spiritual energy needs to be researched in a big way and a body of knowledge about it needs to be created. So depending on inclinations let people pursue spiritual science or conventional science.

I believe that spiritual knowledge can not only help the finer mental traits come to the fore but also act as an effective countering force to the negative effects of modern technology..

Early marriage does not change anything.

Having an outlet for sex at an earlier age is not an answer to anything.

The human mind seeks thrills and pleasures of a new encounter.

What is needed is education,human values and LAW and ORDER!

Right now there is only LAW but in DISORDER.

Spirituality is not going to decrease the criminal testosterone driven sexual drive in a rapist..what is the Mantra going to be for that?

One of the techniques I use to control events in the future is this: If I want to control any effect, say not get angry at some period in the future, I visualize that spiritual energy at that period is increasing in the body and controlling anger. Presto! the anger does not happen at that period whatever the provocation. The same technique can be used to control rapists drive by thinking that all the potential future events of rape are brought under control even before the rape.

It is something that has worked for me and thus one's spiritual energy and positive thoughts can be put to good use by people to control crime in this novel way. But this is only controlling the effects. The real change only happens when the rapist reforms.

Dear Sravna,

Controlling anything is not as easy as you have visualized.

As a Hindu we know that every action is a complex interaction of Free Will,Karma,Vasanas.

So by sitting down at home and sending out thought waves that whisper 'may all rapist do not use their ammunition ..may the spiritual energy of their era rise to counteract the rise of the testosterone'...get real Sravna..you can NOT increase any spiritual energy in such a way.

None of us have a control on anyone as to cause mass hypnosis by so called spiritual energy.

I only know one energy that can cause a frenzy..that is Rajini Energy..whole world is in a Kabali Frenzy.

Ok now get real...why everyone went into a frenzy?

Reason? Promotion and Awareness and also Hype.

So if you want the world to go into a spiritual frenzy..there has to be global appeal of the person advocating this change.

Then promotion..awareness..campaigns etc..not everyone would change but at least some might try.

So Sravna...become a Spiritual Kabali who walks and talks action..not just sit at home and become a spiritual energy wi-fi.
 
BTW Sravna...energy can not be destroyed..it only changes its form..so what if your "spritual energy" deletes the thought of rape in the mind of the rapist but the thought wave of the rapist had already left an imprint in the cosmos..since you are tapping into his thought waves..what if you pick up his thought and you experience the spike in testosterone and commit a crime?

Dear Renuka,

Spiritual energy spiritualizes physical energy so that the physical energy goes out of space and time. There will be no imprint of the physical energy.

Renuka, I am talking from first hand experience. I want to develop the theory to explain what I have experienced and seen happen . Science I believe has to wake up to new reality

Dear Sravna,

Imprints can not be destroyed..it can only be transformed.

We always feel we need to kill the "beast" in us and cultivate the divine but by killing the beast ..what about its carcass? If we leave a carcass behind it always has a potential to resurrect when conditions are conducive..so can we really totally become divine? What are the ways to transform even a carcass to divine state? We only focus on killing the beast but we never give a thought of its carcass...beautifully questioned in a famous Tamil song.

That is the reason nature has this beautiful concept of transcending. So once you cross a threshold and go to a higher state you never regress.

Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday night, the spiritual guru, who counts Prime Minister Narendra Modi among his "fans", also said voters should repeatedly ask their elected parliamentarians about why the women's reservation bill is being stalled and implore them to pass it without delay.

Asked if attending satsangs can bring down instances of rape in the country, Morari Bapu said: "As far as I understand, rapes are not committed by those who attend satsang. And satsang is not a religious function...It is a spiritual (experience)."

He also said a woman's body should never be subjected to "atrocities, injustice and rape", adding that people should aspire to change the way they look at women by attending satsangs.

Morari Bapu, who is known for his discourse on Ramcharitmanas, an epic written by Bhakti cult poet Tulsidas, also said he was not in agreement with the treatment meted out to Sita during the Agnipariksha, where, as the wife of Lord Rama, she was subjected to the rite of purification, which involved walking through fire.

We can not be too sure..where is the evidence for this?

As long as the mind exists..one can even become a fallen angel.

In fact the risk of "falling" is very high if one really feels he/she has crossed a threshold...the fall is not becos of climbing any new heights..the fall is the mind that is suffused with Ahamkara thinking it has reached a higher state.

One should rid one's self of the thought of a higher or lower state..that would make us feel grounded and get a clearer understanding.

Definitely Shri VB, Spirituality is the perfect antidote to all violent and wayward behavior.
 
Actually Satsang is a good outlet for healthy Sattva flirting for men and women...so everyone leaves a Satsang with a happy feeling.

Its not about wisdom or spirituality...its just the feel good feeling of having mingled with everyone in a harmless flirting way.

We all know the present Governor of Pondichery Madam Kiran Bedi. And while she was in service, as Inspector General of Police, Tihar Jail, she reported to have taken lot of initiative to reform the inmates of the prison. And one among the initiative is introducing yoga and vipasana meditation classes to them to change the prisoners attitude. She also reported to have organized assembly, prayers and festival celebrations, etc


I think we will have members here to argue that Yoga, Medication, Prayers, etc are different from spirituality…….!!!

Dear Sir,

Prisoners usually "change" only while being in prison cos prison is stressful and they might go along with Satsang,Yoga,Meditation etc..but we have no idea what happens to them once they taste freedom of release from prison..mostly revert to old lifestyle.

I beg to disagree.

What do you mean by reformation...??

And if that is the case, the very purpose of managing prison by the Government spending lot of moeny is defeated.

There may be exceptions, but not mostly as reported.
