Dear Raghy Ji,

You are going to love my reply.

There are two types of individuals who are equiposed in all situations..that is pretty much the same everywhere.

1)A Saint or a Jeevan Muktha who is above the pairs of opposite becos he is Spiritually High.

2)A person who is constantly Spiritually High on C2H5OH..even he is pretty much the same everyhwhere!!LOL

Dear Renuka,

That second type may suit me very well!!

Seriously, I had two persons in my mind when I wrote that initial message. One was a farmer. I thought he never becomes angry..... truth was, he did become angry but hs anger would be so controlled and so short lived! I have seen him happy somany times; but I thought he never had any reason to be happy! ( his life was full of sdaness). He had never been to school.

Second one was a land owner. He lost so much property due to government acqusitions. He was a landlord; his son, a teen ager ended up working as an unskilled labourer. I have not seen him angry at all. So soft spoken.... I asked him how could he stay that calm.. he said he was not calm, he said he should try to calm himself!

Now your opinion, please. Thanks.

Cheers!

1st person the farmer..he seems to be a contented person.Contentment is the key to happiness so thats why his anger is so short lived.

2nd person the land owner is a discontented person who keeps all within and tries to control his anger and tries hard to be calm.

Outwardly both appear the same.

I am sorry, my fault... I did not write in detail about the land owner. Although he lost pretty much everything, still he was helpful to everyone; he was polite and peaceful; No one heard him curse at all.

I considered both these gentlemen as great human beings, who did not change much in the face of the huge troubles thrown at them.

Cheers!

Ok since the picture is clearer now..then I can say that may be the land lord had come to realize that true happiness does not lie in gain or loss but lies in contentment too.

[h=3]Chapter 28: Deceptive Conduct[/h][h=4]Kural 271[/h]
A deceiver's own five elements remain undeceived
by his double-dealing mind and silently mock him.
[h=4]Kural 272[/h]
Of what avail is an outer appearance of saintliness
if the mind suffers inwardly from knowledge of its iniquity?
[h=4]Kural 273[/h]
He who has not attained the power yet wears the garb of saints
is like a cow that grazes about wearing a tiger's skin.
[h=4]Kural 274[/h]
He who conceals himself beneath holy robes and commits sins
is like a hunter hiding in the bushes to snare unwary birds.
[h=4]Kural 275[/h]
The day will come when those who claim dispassion
yet act deceitfully exclaim,"Alas! Alas! What have I done?"
[h=4]Kural 276[/h]
None is so heartless as he who, without renunciation in his heart,
poses as a renunciate and lives in pretense.
[h=4]Kural 277[/h]
Like the poisonous jequirity bean, with its red and black sides,
there are outwardly dazzling men whose insides are dark.
[h=4]Kural 278[/h]
Many are the men who piously bathe in purifying waters,
while in their black hearts impure conduct lies concealed.
[h=4]Kural 279[/h]
The arrow is straight but cruel; the lute is crooked but sweet.
Therefore, judge men by their acts, not their appearance.
[h=4]Kural 280[/h]
Neither shaven head nor long matted locks are needed,
provided one casts off conduct condemned by the world

An Indian woman who arrived in Austin, around the first week of April, has been charged with setting her husband on fire April 17 and is in custody on $1 million bail.

Shriya Biman Patel, 25, allegedly poured gasoline over her husband in the midst of an oil massage, and lit him on fire. Police responded to 911 calls from neighbors, and found the victim naked in his bathroom, with severe burns over 70 percent of his body. He was airlifted to Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.

"Why did she burn me?" Mr. Patel was heard saying as he was being wheeled to a medical helicopter. "Why did she burn me? All I was trying to do was love her,” he said, according to local media.

Shriya Patel apparently told police on the scene that her husband had set himself onfire. Police say that the woman, in the pretext of giving her husband an oil massage, poured gasoline all over him and set him on fire. Police also say it was premeditated and was unlike any case they could remember. The smoke alarm in the apartment was disabled and the sprinkler heads were covered with plastic bags. A Wal-Mart surveillance video shows the woman buying the items used in the attack.

Austin Police said that there was ample evidence to show that Shriya Patel had planned the attack. “She actually went to Walmart and bought several items to tape up the sprinkler heads and smoke detectors,” they stated. A Walmart security video tape shows Shriya buying several items there, including scarves used in the attack.

According to AP, the couple had been married for a year, and Shriya had only been in theU.S. for seven days after coming from India.

From the article above:

Vijay Mehta, a fixture in the Indian American community in Texas, told India-West he too believed something suspicious was happening with the couple.
“Indian men can be very jerky. Even within seven days he could have said or done something to completely set her off,” he said, adding, “It amazes me, how, within seven days, she was smart enough to plan all this.”

God knows what actually happened?
But she should have thought of a better way to dispose him off if she really wanted to get rid of him.

that some one lands up in a foreign country just a week before and knew how to walk up to a Walmart and buy stuff looks a bit hard for me to believe as well.
Until we get the correct story, we can all only speculate

MORAL OF THE STORY........Start loving ur wife

the moral of that story was start loving you wife or else!
Relationships where partners believe they are in bondage, ie, you do things this way or else i will do bad things to you should consider a bonding relationsip instead.

Exactly. Speculating- she had a local boy-friend whom she knew earlier from India or Dubai?

Dear Naina,

This is what my husband said too saying that since divorce is a tiresome process she must have resort to this.

I only the other hand have a feeling that her husband is an obsessive character.
I feel no one with 70% burns wound will be saying "Why did she do this? I only tried to love her"

That really sounds like a person with a twisted perception of love..cos 70% burns wound is really painful and if someone is still talking about love in that pain most probably is obsessed with it and obsession comes with lots of "love games" of the weird kind.

Sometimes too much passion can set you on fire literally!!
