I normally get headache at the back of my head. I apply Amrithanjan and tie up with a
towel and lie down for few hours. This persists for two to three days and it goes
automatically.

Dear sir,

Please get a MRI brain done if you have recurring headaches.
Cause of headache needs to be ascertained.

Pl verify this info and if you find it is genuine you can proceed to share with others.

The medicines are prescribed by our doctors are by brand name & not by the generics (Ingredients). Hence we end up paying more money for the same medicine. Follow these few steps to know more & start saving on your medical bills.

1. Log on to
www.medguideindia.com

2. Click on 'Drugs'

3. Click on 'Brand'

4. Type the brand name which you are using (e. g. Metocard XL (50 mg). The site will also help you with drop down menu) & Click on 'Search'

5. Click on 'Generics'. It will display the ingredients of the tablet.

6. Click on 'matched brands'

7. Don't be surprised to see that same drug is available at very low cost also. And that to by other reputed manufacturer. e. g. Metocard XL 50 is for Rs. 62.00 & same drug by Cipla (Mepol) is available ONLY @ Rs. 7.00

It would also be wise to check with the Doctor whether you can substitute his prescribed one with the one that’s available cheaper…( though he may not agree!!!) This is for people in India only!!
Cheers & save on medicines….

Hello manohar sir ,nice and good that you have forward this information .the very first line itself gives a clear view, message of it. Sir one thing to keep in thought ,as the frwd message stated in last last line AS HE MAY NOT AGREE!!! ,sir this line you CANNOT generalised to all working professional ,in medical field ,I personally experienced many a times that when i prescribe a pain killer ,the person (patient) asks me WHY DOCTOR SUCH A CHEAP MEDICINE,TELL ME A COSTLY AS IT WILL BE EFFECITIVE.what I prescribe first was 10 tabs 27.00rupees ,I said her its only the effect of medicine and not the cost ,as she was firm in her words ,thought ,I happen to change. The same implies for multi vitamins ,multiminerals 30 tabs\ 30rs ,and also 15 tabs \ 150 rs. I really want to emphasis one among this type ,its a well known multilevel markecting company A****,where there calcium and other supplements cost around 2500 \30tabs ,the height of comedy cum pathetic situation is that any medicine has to be mention as therapeutic purpose but these bottles has boldly stated as not for medicinal uses NOT FOR THERAPEUTIC PURPOSE., the same calcium tablets for any women in later 50 yrs due to bone loss I prescribe 30 tabs 140 rupees. My question is that then for what ,why they market it ,is it a candy sort !!!!!????? .its also the people attitude that makes these company to boon ,do not blame the opposite side always . MR..Manohar sir I dint mean you ,any way thanks for giving me a chance for people to know these stuff.

Dear Dr.Narayani & Other Doctors on the forum , sincerely regret if i have inadvertently hurt your feelings. Will take enough care henceforth to see that such generalisation error does not creep in. Cheers.

Hello Manohar sir ,What the frwd message stated is what here public feels ,AS I KNOW it pretty well.Sir IAM not hurt to be frank ,you gave a chance to talk about people attitude towards the treatment basis.NO PROBLEM ,feel free.

I have come across one doctor who prescribed the cheaper version of the medicine which was equally effective - even before we requested him to do so.

Mami, Greetings.

When I saw this 'Imagination Running Riot" I couldn't help it. Here is my contribution for imagination...... Height of ignorance....

ignorance.webp

Cheers! :heh:

Dear Dr CN

Ref your post # 1288 - surely, you meant "Manoharkumar" and not me !

By the way [ since my name has been dragged in ], have you seen the movie "ANAND" ?
- Rishikesh Mukherjee's Direction, Rajesh Khanna playing the role of a terminally ill patient
Amitabh Bachan [ his debut film ] playing the role of a Doc and friend of Rajesh Khanna.

You should observe the scene wherein Amitabh [ as a Doc ] plays around with his snobbish, wealthy
hypochondriac patients, using multi-colored Cadbury's Gems as tablets !

I just mentioned it to you because both "ANAND" & "MANOHAR" are involved !

Ha ha
Yay Yem

Monday is the beginning of the week..so extra work and stress.
Stress can trigger a migraine.

For me the weekends would be hectic with the small kids and hubbiji at home-
demanding choice foods .

So when they go to their school and office on Monday I would feel relaxed and the migraine would set in!
