Eating non veg has become common?

.is eating non veg becoming common among the community?
There is no community since it is undergoing a transmutation. All communities change in a matter of decades. Around the world vegetarianism and veganism mostly for right reason is on the rise. Meanwhile so called educated Indians are trying to ape the west all for wrong things and reasons. There is a lot to learn from any society but embracing west for its excessive materialism is corruption

Let me recast the question. Is ignorance of what is the purpose of life on rise in India regardless of caste etc? Answer is yes

It is quite common in a lot of households esp. in the main cities. There is no peer pressure in these places. I have seen people voluntarily eating chicken or beef.

In my opinion, whenever a restriction is put that's when our people want to do it. This is common to all and not just for brahmins.

Lifestyles have changed. A lot of students are into physical sports and consuming a veg diet does not provide them with the energy.

The quality of food has changed from what it was 30 years ago. The dal what we get is completely polished and has no nutrients. Paneer is not even proper paneer. Most cow milk is chemical.

It is true to a greater extent, that restrictions generate anxiety, curiosity resulting in transgressing/trespassing. However in my opinion, restriction is seldom the cause for trying out meat.

Also, energy needs seldom mandate meat food. Vegetables are adequate to provide the needed energy, the needed nutrients and vitamins and minerals for physical sport.

I think it is a myth that meat provides greater strength than vegetables.

However can't agree more that quality of food has degenerated, decayed, deteriorated over the decades. But that applies to meat also, doesn't it!!!!

Meat has more protein. For anyone looking to maximize protein content, leaner meat offers the best protein-to-calorie ratio.
I am vegetarian by choice and culture.

Fish is rich in protein. Other meat, are rich in fat. Whether other meat are rich in protein, I am not sure.

I am vegetarian too, by choice and culture.

There are pros and cons for both. The more sattvic you are the more you prefer V. The less sattvic or more rajassic and tamasic you are the more you prefer NV. But true spirituality is about both. It is the right balance of all the gunas.

I am a V but have relished NV without knowing I have consumed it. But stopped later.

In a similar vein sattvic is not superior and rajas and Tamas inferior. Individual gunas have their pros and cons and a balance is what is ideal. If this truth is realized caste based fights would not arise as there would be no claim of superiority by any caste or Varna.
