Film director Cheran villain to daughter’s love

Status

I find Cheran's daughter a real dumb idiot!

If she wants to get married to a guy..just get registered if she is above the legal age of marriage..why does she has to tarnish her father's reputation in front of the whole world.

She can just walk off silently and get married minus all this nonsense.

Not as easy as you think especially if the boy happens to be from a lower Caste / Dalit . I hope you are aware what happened to the fate of Illavarsan , the Dalit boy who married Divya .

Good looks and good voice are no more needed to be a Tamil cinema hero!

Hence the easiest way is to make the lover guy a hero and make him rich!

Then Cheran might be happy to make his daughter a hero's wife! :)

The lovely Aishwarya wedded the puny Dhanush, right?

When brahmin parents lament when their daughters elope with some low caste / other religion guys, people come forward to

say that the parents have the 'holier than thou' attitude! But when it comes to others the logic changes! Very sad! :tsk:

Dear RR ji,

I disagree.

Dhanush has got a nice face..his face has some innocent yet intense looks.

He was already an actor and came from a Film industry family even before he met Aishwarya.

He does act well and his latest Hindi movie did well too.

Dear RR ji,

People only say that Brahmins have "Holier than Thou attitude" and stop at that.

But in cases of Non Brahmin (Non Dalit) vs Dalit cases..it is not holier than thou at all.....it is "More Violent than Thou" attitude.

It is a different case scenario totally.

May be, but I just can't understand Cheran advertising to the world she is one. She being of legal age does not mean she is more mature than her own father who wants to secure his "support love" credentials even at the cost of exposing his own daughter to the charge of being a dumb idiot from those who know her no more than the proverbial Adam. Please, don't blame the kid, she is driven by the love her own father eulogized in the silver screens, she didn't know her father is a rank hypocrite.

Thanks....

Very true Renu! Holy people don't kill! :thumb:

Dear Renu,

I think doing no harm to others is a part of holiness! :)

Dear RR ji,

It is not easy being violent..in fact it is easier being "non violent".

Holy wars have been fought in the past.

Our very own Parashurama had no problems swinging his holy axe.

....Brahmins don't kill... .
This is an overly general statement. If this means no Brahmin (upper case B) is capable of killing then it is demonstrably false. Many years ago there was a young Brahmin man who hacked his entire family to death in Villivakkam, Chennai. Of course one can claim he was not a real Brahmin, but there cannot be any denying he was born into a Brahmin family.

By this I am not saying Brahmins are murderous, how I wish I don't have to say this, it is just that a general statement like "Brahmins don't kill" is a little too much.....

Dear Nara ji,

I guess I said that in the context of intercaste marriage killings..cos so far I am yet to hear of a Brahmin resorting to killing when their kids marry a different caste.

But Renuka don't you think it is easy to get angry and difficult to not get angry when you are provoked. Don't you think that is more fundamental. So only when you are talking of people who get angry but would not be violent then what you say is correct. But I think the non-violence of the sattvic nature lies more in its ability to not get angry than anything else.

Brahmins are not supposed to kill! But some do.

Some others think 'konnAp pAvam; thinnAp pOchchu!'.

That is why non-veg eating brahmins exist! :hungry:

Dear Sravna,

Not really..for me I can safely say I am a bit thick skinned and takes lots and lots of provocation to make me angry...that too my anger is too short lived!

But as a female to a certain extent we conceal our anger easily and females tend to cool down faster..so even if I get angry it would be for a very short moment.

Anger is a waste of time....we can not plan the next course of action when we are angry.

Dear Sravna Sir and Renu,

The Tamil poet Bharathi wrote 'ரௌத்திரம் பழகு' (rauththiram pazhagu).

I found an interesting page on these words of Bharathi. Here is a portion:

Telugu superstar chiranjeevi went through a similar stunt - daughter running away, seeking police protection, wedding attended by friends, murder threats and what not. Boy is a brahmin and chiranjeevi is a psec, it is alleged. Well, after a few years of bliss, the daughter returned to her parents complaining of dowry harassment and abuse. Not sure whether divorce is through. Cheranum vittu pidikkalam!

Date: October/17/2007
Today Telugu Megastar Chiranjeevi would be the most unlucky father to have known his daughters marriage form news reports.
Chiranjeevi’s younger daughter Srija, 19 (studying Chartered Accountancy) married Sirish Bharadwaj, 22 at Arya Samaj Mandir at Bowenpally against the wishes of her parents and seeked police protection alleging threat from Chiranjeevi’s family.

Today morning, I run away from home and got married to Sirish Bharadwaj. I am 19 years old and he is 22. Since we are majors, we have the right to get married. We got married in Arya Samaj temple today. We have been in love for the past four years and decided to get married this year. We want support from the media and the police because of threats from my family’s side,” said Srija .

Dear Renuka,

Taking a lot a provocations without being affected or without reacting, does not necessarily mean one is thick skinned or a coward which I think are commonly help misconceptions.

Sattvic nature provides you with the natural ability to see things in a balanced way and helps you to react sensibly to any action. That is what I wanted to convey.

Dear Smt. RR,

Good point. When one is angry not because self is affected but because others are affected, is generally harmless .

Dear Sravna,

You have to understand that sometimes we cannot react they way we really want becos of law and also position in society that we have to maintain or forced to abide according to professional rules of conduct.

A patient shouting at a doctor can get away with it but a doctor shouting back at the patient even though patient was in the wrong..the doctor has to be answerable to the medical council if there is a complain.

So you see one must still learn how to smile and cope with situations and after a while we get used to be playing Mr Nice Guy and anger eventually loses its footing in us.

So these days if anyone makes me angry..I just think in my mind "Narakam Gaccha Shunaka"(Go to Hell Dog) and just smile to myself thinking Ha Ha Ha..he has no idea what I am thinking of him.

I prefer thinking in Sanskrit cos just in case I blurt out those words it might still sound like a mantra!LOL

So you see those emotions are still there but I would not call it anger..but just momentary feeling of dissatisfaction which can be handled in a less violent manner.

I somehow do not buy all this Sattvik nature anymore..I just feel we change and adapt over time to handle situations thats all.

What is a psec?
