Needles found in sandwiches on 4 US-bound Delta flights

First I read it is as noodles; filling in with favourite words (or foods)!

NEW YORK: Delta Air Lines Inc said it was working with federal authorities after what appeared to be sewing needles were found in food on four U.S.-bound flights that left Sunday from Amsterdam, injuring one passenger.

The needles were found in sandwiches made by the airline's Amsterdam caterer, Gate Gourmet, Delta spokeswoman Chris Kelly said in an email Monday. The FBI and Netherlands officials are investigating, Delta said.

Howzzzzzzzzat?
"Seeing a cockroach in your sandwich is not a problem. Seeing half cockroach in your half remaining sandwich is a problem!"
:fear:

I remember once in school when I was 16 we had some function and I was really hungry and thirsty.

There was some hot Milo(like Bournvita) only one cup left.

As I was about to drink it I saw a dead fly in it.
I thought to myself..."what the heck..the Milo is so piping hot all germs must be dead"

I threw away the fly and drank the Milo.
My friends were shocked!!
Nothing really happened to me anyway.

May be I was lucky that the fly was germ free and must have been a clean fly!!LOL

So better eat the remaining cos it is not fair for the cockroach to have his body in different places..the cockroach needs a decent burial too!!

Better to take water instead of sweetened drinks if we can not find Oral Rehydration Salts.
Too much sugar can disturb the osmolarity of the cell membranes and can actually worsen diarrhea.

Tender coconut water is almost isotonic to our body fluids and makes a good palatable choice as a fluid replacement.

Remember in diarrhea/vomiting we are losing fluids and electrolytes and replacement should be on those lines.

I think WHO recommends water with little salt, sugar and lemon squeeze when nothing else is available.

Dear sir,

You are also right but I was comparing the case of diluted sugar drinks vs water in worst case scenarios.

Sometimes we can't find sugar and lemon too at home.
My house for example..I do not buy sugar at all.
I only have salt.

I was studying MSc in a co-ed college. The class wanted to visit Malambuzha dam on a one day trip. Three of us were Tambram

girls and three were christian girls. With great difficulty, we got permission from parents/ guardians, for the tour. Sandwiches

were served for break fast in the bus and it was fine. (Of course, we did NOT check for any cockroaches!) After reaching the dam,

we were all set to have our lunch, before seeing the places around. I always start eating, after all the items are served. Sambar

chadham and lemon rice were served and potato chips followed. Lo and behold! I found a five inches long fried lizard on my

leaf, along with the chips. The sight of it gave nausea to me and one of my Tambram friends. We got up and refused to eat! All

others did not mind it and a few of them ate the chips also! OMG.... Nothing happened to them. The 'mun jaakkiradhai' amma

of my friend had given her a packet of curd rice and maa vadu to eat, in case she did not find the hostel food tasty! That

packet saved us on that day! :hungry:

PS: All the girls were day scholars.

Sometime back god knows how..one lizard was found in my fridge at home.
Poor guy was almost dying since he is a cold blooded creature he needed to be warmed up fast.
So I took him out and wrapped him up in a small cloth and then rubbed his heart area for a while so that his heart will beat faster.

Then I placed him outside so that some sunlight could touch him.

After a while he was Ok.

I know Renu! Last week my friend 'juju' (I named the lizard that lives on the window, near the fridge) just entered my fridge!

It might have been sitting on the lining of the fridge door and when I open it, just walked in! Luckily, I noticed it and drove it
outside, with my duster! I can never even dream of giving first aid as you have given!! :fear:

Yesterday my neighbor accidentally drove over her cat.
The cat could not walk after that and when I came home it was outside my house and my neighbor told me that the cat must have fractured his spine and hence not walking.

I looked at the cat and saw him moving his tail..so I told her it can't be a spinal cord injury when the tail was moving.

The cat was a bit hostile towards his own master but not to me.
I brought some biscuits and tried to make it eat as to observe how it would stand and I noted that he was unable to stand up cos of a possible fracture of it's leg.

I told my neighbor to take the cat to a vet cos it's only a fracture and not a spinal cord injury.

Now I will let you know a fish story.Once my son had some gold fish and one of them died.
My son(aged 9 then) called me up and started crying asking me to come home.
He said "amma can you come and give CPR for the fish?"

I told my son..I do not think CPR can be done for fish.He started crying even more!!

Dear Renu,

I have mentioned a few times about Ms. June of New York, God mother of one of my nephews, whose motto in life is 'Love all',

in my Tamil write-ups. She has a white toad as her pet and we saw it when we stayed in her house for a day. It seems, when it gets some cramps, she gives the right type of massage and cures it! She is a chiropractor. :high5:

When I saw this thread after lunch, I thought, 'What is there to discuss?'

But it seems, within half a day, it will get its PINK color - with 150 views!! :thumb:

Sowbagyavathy Raji Ram, Greetings.

I don't think that 'fried lizard' was real. Possibly plastic toy. I think it was placed to make fun of you girls. That's why others ate it. Noone will eat if lizard was found in the food. even Irulan ( Irulas - they eat rats) would not eat lizards. I know.

Cheers!

Then how will you ever make sweets? The girls here prepared 'Carrot Halwa' last night!

In our office we have a vending machine through which we used to prepare coffee or tea. I drink coffee in our office and I drank coffee almost 5 to 6 days without noticing cocroaches (tiny). I did not have any problem. I feel small cocroaches will not harm our body and only bigsized cocroaches create all troubles.

Recently Highcourt has ordered the Municipality and State govt. to find out the pockets where orsanic is mixed in water in Kolkata. Also to find out the measure they are taking to control it / treating it. I donot know how long I am consuming orsanic and how it will react in my body? Saibaba only to save us.

I do not like to eat sweets but even if I prepare any halwa I will boil dates in warm water and used the date pulp and the syrup obtained on boiling.

I like sour tasting stuff.I only like sour mangoes and not sweet ones.

Dear Mam renu, If you prepare like that for carrot halwa then will it taste like a carrot halwa with date flavour?
