After reading thru this i am tempted to break open the small ganges water brass containers sealed with Ganges water to know whether they are drinkable.

Yes sir,
I too feel bad saying bad things about Ganga, as it is revered river. But looking at the ground reality i believe the "Ganga" of our reverence can not be dirtied like this ganga in India. The revered "Ganga" must be Akash Ganga or Milky way galaxy. Somehow we have mixed the two.

I went to Banaras 50 years ago, after seeing what was floating in Manicarnika Ghat I could not take a dip in that water. My parents were upset, that I had to wash in tap water after coming back from the river. Water is supposed to make you feel clean not dirtier.
