Dear Raviji, Prasadji

Terrific. Since I don't know how to and where to source from, could you please upload
" Kasme Vaade Pyar Wafa Sab ................. " - film Manoj Kumar's Upkar - 1964/65.

That's one of my all time favorites - I think I can recall the lyrics - I've sung it on stage
as a schoolboy.

I had a collection of LPs and 45 RPM records - no player past 30 years or so - lying in somewhere
in the loft - good you people reminded me, I must 'nondufy' the lofts and clean the records.

The songs you uploaded just carried me off to a different era ! Thanks.

Dear Anandji,

It's not too good to be in a different era for too long a time.
So I am bringing you back to the present era 2012.
This song is for you.

Thank you guys for posting some of the best music from yesterday and today.. love the numbers, the old made me nostalgic while the new made me dance.. :-) thank you once again.. god bless..

My very best to all
Bushu/Subhalakshmi :-)

Dear Renuka

I don't "live" in a different era. If I had continued to live in that time period, I would
have followed Cliff Richards's words and stayed a "Bachelor Boy" or be broodin like the Beatles
number "Yesterday".

By the way, can you find and upload "Bachelor Boy" for me ?

Yay Yem

Dear Renuka

Thanks - that was real quick! Somehow, we didn't have a limerick for this one, and none in our
'gang' followed Cliff Richards's advise - none stayed a bachelor, nor ever told his son to do so!

But we all loved the song. There was another one that went something like " When I was single,
my pocket used to jingle ............ " . I remember the tune [only] because I remember the
limerick - by any chance, you think you can lay hands on igt?

Thanks again - Rat avatar picture NOT GOOD.

Dear Sir,

When I was single my pocket used to jingle,
When I was married I was no longer single,
When I grew old gravity made me dangle,
When I grew wise I realized this is life's angle.

Dear Anand sir,

Since you don't like my Rat Avatar(Mushikaasura) do you like this?

Dear Prasad Ji

I have no words to thank you. So good of you to have taken the pains - dedicated "just for you"
was just too much.

Believe me, I sang along with the clip, the first time I played it - the lyrics were still fresh
in my mind and as a victim of circumstances, it made all the more impact " Dete Hain Bhagwan
Ko Dhoka, Insaan Ko Kya Chodenge ?".

Thanks once again

Yay Yem

Hindi Song Lyrics of Kasme waade pyaar wafaa sab
UPKAAR Movie Songs Lyrics
Kasme waade pyaar wafaa sab Lyrics Hindi Song Title: Kasme waade pyaar wafaa sab : UPKAAR
Singer(s): MANNA DEY

Hindi Lyrics:
Koyi kisi ka nahi ye jhoothhe,
Naate hain naato ka kya
Kasme waade pyaar wafaa sab,
Baatein hain baato ka kya

Hoga masiha ...
Hoga masiha saamne tere,
Phir bhi na tu bach paayega
Tera apna…
Tera apna khoon hi aakhir tujhko aag lagaayega
Aasmaan mein ...
Aasmaan me udne waale mitti mein mil jaayega
Kasme waade pyaar wafaa sab, baatein hain baato ka kya

Sukh mein tere ...
Sukh mein tere saath chalenge,
Dukh mein sab mukh modenge
Duniya waale ...
Duniya waale tere bankar tera hi dil todenge
Dete hain ...
Dete hain bhagwaan ko dhokha,
Insaan ko kya chhodenge
Kasme waade pyaar wafaa sab,
Baatein hain baato ka kya

Dear Prasadji, Raviji, Renukaji

Can anyone help me find an article run in the Illustrated Weekly of India in 1969 ?
The 'Weekly' closed down in 1992/93.

The editor then was Kushwant Singh - though no dis-respect intended, the article was
titled " Why I hate Indians " - by Nirad C Choudhary.

I am no wizard on the net, so if someone can tell me where and how to find it, it will be
a great help. Further, I am no great fan/devotee of Nirad Babu to accept his writings as Absolute /
Gospel Truth, but he makes very valid observations in this work of his.

Please see if any of you can find the time / inclination and guide me to find it.

Dear Prasadji

Thanks again, I knew the lyrics and the tune - been decades since I heard / sang it.

Terribly sentimental connections to this song, because of certain personal episodes
and experiences. That's the way the Sufi Fakirs conveyed their messages as they
wandered - seemingly aimless - but there was always a message in their out-pourings
- left for others to figure-out.

Thanks, Nan(d)ri, Dhanyavad, Shukriya, Shukran.

Shri Anand Manohar,

I tired a lot to search for the article but I failed to find it.

In my attempt to Google Search the article, I found this -

On Nirad C. Chaudhuri: (NCC had written an article in the Illustrated Weekly of India entitled Why I hate Indians) Tharoor writes: But even then, I wondered why the arrogant pedantry of the man, his sweeping generalizations and apocalyptic conclusions, usually unsupported by any empirical evidence, were taken so seriously by readers and editors.

---------
I am now really getting curious to know what was written in detail by Nirad C Chaudhuri, in his essay - "Why I hate Indians"

If I could get the details of the writing, I will certainly pass on to you.

Dear Raviji

Terrific collection. Thanks for uploading.

"Aandhi" - Sanjeev Kumar & Suchitra Sen, I don't know whether you recall, the movie caused a
big controversy leading to its ban in early/mid 70's. Story line supposedly taken from the lives of Indira Gandhi,
Tarakeshwari Sinha and Nandini Satpathi - all top lady politicians of those days.

Please tell me where to find Nirad Chaudhury's article. We always kept a 'cutting' of interesting articles
those days and I had one too, unable to find it now. Maybe if you hunt in Kushwant Singh's rejoinder
article " Why I hate Nirad Choudhury ', also in the Illustrated Weekly, you might make some headway
But I remember the year was 1969.

I am a bit of a 'fossil' in trying to dig things out of the net.

Yes, as an NRI, I think you should read it - not necessarily agree with all of it.

Yay Yem
