Introduce yourself here

I am interested in knowing the details of annual rituals done for the departed relations like father, in terms of all the minute requirements .If some body from the Forum can provide this by way of a document,I shall be highly obliged.

Dear Muthuraman, Balagopalan, Mahadevan & Sampatkumar

Hi Everybody. I am sort of fed-with a "Formal Welcome".

This forum is not just about a group of people sitting with their Pancha Patram
& Udhranis and discussing about Vedas, Maya and Geetha all the time.
We can also handle subjects ranging from Investment Banking to Space Technology.

Oh! This is not just about Tamarind Rice + Poppadams / Curd Rice + Mango Pickle.
We can also handle Pizzas and Garlic Bread too with Black Coffee and Diet Pepsi.

Sorry if you thought this was solely about Carnatic Music & Bharatanatyam.
We can handle Jazz & Rap and Bhangra too.

So, welcome on board - look forward to your active participation and valuable contributions.

WELCOME, SWAGATHAM, VANAKKAM.

Heartiest welcome to Mr Sampath Kumarji.

As you desire, it can be supplied in the form of a document, but then a book is readily
available with Giri Trading Company Mylapore mentioning all the details of Srardham.
The Srardham, a ritual, is performed every year on a particular Thithi (Sukla or Krishna)
for the dead ancestors including father and mother. The ancestors bless those who
perform rituals regularly. It is a belief that our ancestors who have departed will come
once in a year on the day of the Thithi to quench their thirst, i.e. water and sesame
seeds are offered. Elders normally used to say that they bless us for remembering them
on their Thiti day and recommend for our wellness to the God. Pitru Tharpan (just like
Amavasya Tharpan) has to be performed on the day following the day on which Srardham
is performed. If you are unable to get the information, it can be downloaded from
the website, which can also be used.

Solitude

Respected Mr Krishnaji

Pranams. Heartiest welcome to this forum. In fact, it is an auspicious
occasion for you to join us on a day when you had an opportunity to
have the Darshan of HH Sringeri Bharathi Theertha Maha Swamigal, particularly
during the period of Chathur Masya Vratham.

Hope you can spare sometime for us once in a week to interact with us about
the Yoga, Human Excellence, Spirituality and Emancipation and Non-Duality.
It is a welcome sign to have solitude. Is solitude inescapable in all ages!

Oh Solitude - where is the charm
Ancient Sages have seen you in their faces
One enters this Bhoomi alone and
Leaves alone without any attachments
Thoughtful soul retires to Solitude
Solitude is Wonderful, if there is an opportunity
to whisper to the God as
Solitude leads to anxieties.

Pranams Balasubramanianji,

Thank you for your insight. It will be my great pleasure to share my divine thoughts through this like minded forum persons.

Praying for everyone's well being and success.

Nothing will replace THE HARD WORK and ALL TIME DIVINE THOUGHTS. The simple thing in life, when some one greeted as How are you? the instant answer is I am fine. Instead can reply, thanks to GOD for keeping me safe.

This way at least we can start remembering the Almighty, otherwise one surrender to HIM only when they faced problems in life, where they visit various nearby temples.

Always remember the Almighty.

God bless us all.

Natarajan Ramadurai.
