Dear all

I am Murali presently in Malaysia. I was searching for Yajur Avani Avittam mantras for 1st Aug then go this link and registered myself, happy to note and join the community.
 
Shravan Purnima Day, otherwise known as Avani Avittam (both in Tamil Nadu and
Kerala) followed by Gayathri Japam. The mantras are also available in Hindu Blog
besides trsiyengar.com/id62.shtml. The sacred thread changing ceremony is very
important for all the Brahmins and is known as Yagnopa Veetha Dhaarana, part of
Vedic rituals. If one is not able to chant the entire Mantras, Yagnopa Veetha
Dhaarana Mantra can be chanted and sacred thread can also be changed. In some
places, on this day, elders start teaching Vedas.
