No No, Dr.C.Narayani...

I was not mentioning the idea of pick and match. The usage of the word "pic." in my post #200 is the short form of the word "picture".

A whole body without "head up to the neck" is called "Mundam" in Tamizh. I was telling that such a pic of an individual would hide the facial identity of the members in a group picture and that should be OK to be uploaded here, as many members don't want themselves to be identified in this public forum.

But, your subsequent post #201 helped me with the alert that such an idea may mean/be considered negatively. Thank you for prompting.

நான் போட்டோ எடுத்து, 'ஆல்பம்' செய்வேன், with NO DISSECTION, of course! :photo:
Only those who attend the meeting will receive the picasa album from me!! :ranger:

PS: We had a photographer in our close family circle whom I named
ஆயிரம் தலை வாங்கிய அபூர்வ சிகாமணி

because most of his photoes will have persons with half or no head!!

Sri. Ravi,

M - - - - m is a bad word though it has an apt meaning in Tamil. Always type good words, plz! :typing:

Sure!!!

Thank you for letting me know..I was thinking that usage of the word "M----m" would be considered bad only if it's been used to frown upon some one considering him/her not having brain...ELSE it's just a literary word to mean a headless body and would not be offensive when the word is just literally used.

By the by, can you please let me know as what would be the right Tamizh word to mean - Headless Body?? When I checked with my mother, she said, she don't know any other word other than "M----m" to mean Headless Body in Tamizh.

........... to mean Headless Body in Tamizh.
There might not be another known word to us.

But, we can very well write 'thalaiyatRa nabar' / 'thalaiyatRa udal' (
தலையற்ற நபர் /தலையற்ற உடல்)

I took a round about way. The 'M word' translated as 'trunk' using Google translate.

And trunk has Tamil words
தண்டு, பயணப்பெட்டி, அடி மரம், நேர் தடம்
only!!

What I understood was this:

Already it is only pancha pAndavar, excluding me. And now that VR mam is writing,

it will reduce to kattil kAl (excluding me, of course!!)

PS: I am still confused to note the comparison with 'groom coming to view a girl', for this friendly get together!! :twitch:
dear VR!
kindly give reason for your change of mind, cos that is discussed by SMT.raji ram.

Hello VR Mam ,iam happy that you replied .mam pls do not use the word BLAME ,its a word with deep meaning for both side in conversation.its the basic intention of all of us ,that VR Mam should not be missing / absent on 15th july. mam pls dnt feel ill about yourself .we all love you ,have more regards and concern about you .we are eagerly waiting to see the powerful /power filled ,positive nature. see you soon mam.
dear DR.C.Narayani madam !
your post optly worded &timely.noblame ,no shame ,no fame and all are same and doing the game (meeting )

Yeah, true!!!

Then what can be done is, Crop the picture by separating each individual from the group and further crop the each pic of an individual by removing the upper part, up to the neck.

And then ask the non attending members here to identify who is who, having only MUNDAM.....LOL!!

How's that??!!??

dear ravi !
with your over enthu, you crossed the limit &created the fear complex how the photo can be used

Respected Sir,

I appreciate your censorship and policing. If you find that I crossed my limits and misbehaved in the forum with out the sense of discipline and respect towards members, you better report my post to Shri Praveen as an abusive post and get it deleted...

This would help other members as well from taking the pain of voicing their hurt feelings on my post. Dr.C.Narayani and Shmt.Raji Ram would for sure be happily supporting your actions. And I would be equally happy.

I don't understand what fear complex I have created?? I just mentioned that the head part of the members can be removed from the pic and uploaded here, as many don't want their facial identity to be exposed here. And other members can have their guess work as who is who in the picture. I was not talking about how to do Photo Morphing!!! Neither I am skilled in this Technique Nor I am interested in such manipulations.

Certain words acquire pejorative meanings depending on time and place. Take for example the word ‘pathetic’. In India its use is quite innocent, but in USA it has derogatory or offensive connotation. Similarly, the word ‘p….a’ is commonly used in English-speaking West to refer to a social outcast, like for example Bernie Madoff, (operator of a Ponzi scheme considered as the biggest financial fraud in U.S. history) but in India (at least in TN) these days, if one used that word in public, one can be arrested and prosecuted. So, it is always safer to stay contemporary and ‘au courant’.

Canadian pattar friend!! Then I had to explain. :blah:

Let me describe an even funnier situation that I had come across in another forum. An American tourist in a Mumbai hotel was being served his dinner in his room by a hotel employee who knew barely enough English. The tourist wanted the employee to inform him about the arrival of a taxi arranged to pick him up the next morning to go to the airport. The hotel employee said in his broken English: “ I intimate you , yes?”. The tourist got upset and called the hotel manager to complain that the employee was making indecent sexual proposition to him. When the manager arrived on the scene and talked to them, he burst out laughing. Fortunately the manager was knowledgeable enough to know that the employee was using the word ‘intimate’ as a verb. But, in America, many use the word ‘intimate’ mainly as an adjective, with sexual connotations, and probably do not realize that there is a verb form. You can refer to the multiple meanings as given here:

Intimate

Moral of the story? Do not use the word 'intimate' when speaking with Americans!

அது தலையிலியோ அல்லது தலைவலியோ, ரவி சார் சொன்ன மாதிரி சொல்லாமல் இருந்தால் சரிதான். இல்லையென்றால் ஒரே தலைகிலி தான்
