Hello VR ,
Long time since i replied to your postings.
On this opic 'points to ponder' i like to add the following.
Happiness or sadness one should to try to accept equally.Your Happiness or sadness are because and not by anybody.
The further matured mind will try to have a state of 'pattru attra' wher one is affected either the happiness or the sadness.

Dear Mr. Alwan,

Thank you for your message. It is because a few REAL good friends I

have in the Forum, that I continue to be here.

I know the story of the Indian crabs and the Tamil crabs which excel

the crabs from all the other states and countries!

I don't become a THARKURI just because someone calls me by that

word. I know my worth and no one need label me.

On the other hand it reflects on his own mental make up if he calls a

first rank holder a dunce!

I have long past the stage of jumping with joy for receiving awards

and calling names if my mistakes are corrected.

I am NOT sad, but neither am I happy.

Only I know under how much of oppositions I am in the Forum-just

because I believe that I have few good things to share with the

others.

While my own sister joins hands with them  and makes fun of me

with these :der:  it is really soothing to note that a total stranger

(whom I know only thorough the forum) really cares for my finer

feelings.

THANK YOU DEAR FRIEND! :pray2:

with warm regards and best wishes,
Visalakshi Ramani.

Dear Sis,

I do not know what makes you blame me like this! In spite of my mood which is near depression,

I just happened to see this post now! Still I do not know when I made fun of you! After posting

two or three pictures in your thread, I am shaken since my Ram became a victim of a hit and run case

in the US and not able to participate in this forum. And you blame me like this and none of your friends

who were eager (!) to get the picture of herbs, according to you, in your thread did not care to ask you

why my posts are missing! Life is like that??

Raji Ram

dear sister Mrs. R.R,

When the readers of your own threads NEVER wondered why you are missing from the Forum, why would the readers of my threads wonder about your absence?

Yes! Life IS like that!

I do not want to remember unpleasant things/ words/ incidents-
as I feel that life is too short to be wasted on them.

But the people around me seem to think otherwise!

When you find free time just got through your own posts to verify the truthfulness of my statement.

My family is praying for the speedy recovery Mr. G.R. ( your Ram)

The readers CAN look up the Google images -if they are really keen. So you need not waste your precious time in posting the pictures of the herbs, in the future.

I KNOW what would have happened IF I Had revealed the cause of your absence from the forum for a few days- by earlier experience.

I never stop learning- despite my advanced age!

with warm regards and best wishes,
Mrs. V.R.

Wow! I almost missed the other Oxymoron in the first line!

Qualifies to be the Oxymoron of the Year 2011!

Like one, that on a lonesome road

And having once turned round walks on,
And turns no more his head;

For the dear God who loveth us,
He made and loveth all.

Now I understand why hippopotamuses and other similar animals love to

wallow in the slush and mud!

For them it it is the ultimate pleasure and comfort!

It supports their body weight which is too much for their tiny legs.

It removes their excess body heat.

They simply love the mud and slush!

The only pity is that we have persons with

similar characteristics among humans also!

Hello VR,
Thanks a lot for your complement that I am a real good friend of you.
Your postings are Really good,Interesting and informative.Pl, do not ever thing of QUITTING.
With regards,
T.Alwan

Dear Mr. Alwan!

Writing and reading have become as natural as breathing to me.

I have enemies both inside the house and outside the house.

But I am a born fighter and not a quitter.

I don't want to compromise on what I value most-

in order to appear gentle, coy, demure and feel DEFEATED!

with warm regards,
Mrs V.R.

New formula I discovered today!

Blood is thicker than water.

(This is not the new one!
The new one follows!)

Bonding is thicker than blood!

(This IS the new one!)

So the concise formula

made easy to remember will be

Bonding > Blood > Water.

On Cats and Dogs!

A Cat OWNS the house while the master OWNS the Dog!

That makes quite a lot of difference in their attitudes.

The Dog tries to PLEASE his master/mistress.

The Cat demands to be pleased by its master/ mistress!

The Dog protects the family it lives with.

The Cat is protected by the family it lives with.

The Dog obeys all the commands including the weird ones.

The Cat quietly commands the household by her looks and postures!

The Dog has no special plans about its longevity

But a CAT has nine lives!

And a CAT can be sexy ... but a Dog ...never!

For what is freedom, but the unfettered use :ballchain:
Of all the powers which God for use had given? :high5:

From his brimstone bed at break of day
A walking the Devil is gone,
:peep:
To visit his snug little farm the Earth,
And see how his stock goes on.:spy:

Quotes by S.T. Coleridge.

Aging is a NATURAL process.

It starts right from the day a baby is born. :baby:

Nobody is born sixty years old and

nobody is going to remain sweet sixteen all her life. :music:

I for one, DO NOT believe in demanding anything.

We have to EARN what we want to enjoy through our hard work!

I don't believe in DEMANDING respect!

If at all I WANT it, I can command it. :high5:

I know the futility of trying to extract fibers from rocks,

the futility of extracting water from desert sand,

and the futility or trying to reform the hard core people.

SO I am not even going to waste my time in :clock:

thinking about/ speaking about / writing about those

spreading hatred as if it were a sacred religion...

finding faults as if they were buried treasures...

and behaving as though they own the world.

A sixty year old who is sensible

is any day better than

a forty year old who is horrible!

"Mirror! Mirror! Mirror on the wall!

Who is the fairest one of all?"

The answer should always be "YOU!"

or HELL WILL BE let loose! :scared:

Suits people who have NOTHING ELSE to prove their worth.

At least the skin-deep beauty (which is also subjected

to the eyes that behold) is a small compensation

for a better and greater accomplishment.

It is common sight that people who grow bald

start growing beards, whiskers or Baagavathar hair style!

Very short men build their body in an effort to enhance their

personality and end up looking like the tops the kids play with-

top heavy and legs ending in a point.
:alien:

Women who have nothing to exhibit in their upper chamber,

exhibit their body's curves and draw attention to their other body

parts by getting them pierced and decorating them with jewels!

Refer to the popular (dumb) celebrity quotes of great wisdom

where an actor declares that

Wall street is a place where walls are sold

and an actress declares that

she discovered Gravity when she was quite young!

Any one who has had a fall had discovered gravity-long before

Newton did - only they did not bother to name it and find a formula

governing the Force of Gravity.

People try to keep up with Jones - to prove their financial status.

People exhibit jewellery when there is there no natural grace or

charm in their face to exhibit.

Men love to flash their bundle of crisp currency amidst the

not-so -well - off people .

All kinds of weird things are DONE

when the person fully realizes his own worthlessness.

So now back to the mirrors!

People who are afraid of showing their faces to the world :fear:

for reasons best known them

need the mirror more than those

who can show their original face to the world and STILL live with that!
