# 54. Intermissions?

Is this constant percussion,
In fact a secret admission?

Of a person's mental depression?
And a terrific hidden fission?

There is not a trace of compassion,
The fury is in its full emission!

Has antagonism become a passion?
That indeed is the general impression!

But life must have a better mission,
Than pointless verbal aggression!

On one pledged in non aggression,
Why is this incorrigible obsession?

Resulting in perpetual transmission?
The occasional regular recession,

Is purely a toning up intermission!
I Never assume it to be an omission,

The recessions are just intermissions
Between the consecutive sessions!

# 55. The alchemist.

He was a great chemist,
Till he became an economist.

He then became an alchemist,
His eyes were in a dreamy mist.

When he was a good chemist,
He was also an optimist.

When he became an alchemist,
He also became a pessimist.

He slowly became an extremist,
He badly needed a hypnotist!

The election alliances and the forum friendships seem

to have so much in common that I often wonder it really is

A friendship? :decision: An alliance with a motive and a purpose?

A smile can be more eloquent than pages and pages of typed words- as proved by a good friend in the comment to a blog. It can give a range of meanings depending on the mental state and mental make up of the persons viewing it.

Solitude...

The bane of those who depend on the external world for their happiness and

the boon to those who know how to keep themselves usefully engaged and employed.

Boon :decision: Bane

What a topic to be launched on Vinayaka's birthday :alien:

and what an eager crowd chasing the :flock:

Humpty Dumpty downhill??? :bump2:

Amazing group of like minded people!!! :grouphug:

# 56. The students.

Students are under pressure,
A secure future to ensure!

They take every possible measure,
And sacrifice every possible pleasure.

They do not waste time in leisure,
They are keen on more exposure,

It is the time for us to assure,
They are the Nation's treasure.

Time to act promptly and insure
Their fruitful lives and composure.

57. The cool baby sitter.

The cool baby-sitter
Was also a go-getter.

She acted like a blotter,
With words soft as butter.

Whenever you feel bitter,
She made you feel better.

She was an expert in chatter,
And knew well how to flatter.

Adding the serial numbers will help in keeping track of the posts and blogs. The first poem appeared in # 668 on 6-8-2011.
I will not be able to add the serial numbers to the old posts. However I can add the numbers to the old blogs.
I will do it as soon as possible.

நடையாகச் சென்று கொடுக்கவேண்டும்;

இருவரை மட்டும் சோதித்தார் அவர்;

கணக்குக்கும் நூறு முறுக்கு வேண்டும்;
'கணகண'க்கும் பசியும் தீர வேண்டும்!

ஒவ்வவொரு வரியை உடைத்து எடுத்தான்;

moral of the story :-

There is one statesman of the present day, of whom I always say that he would have escaped making the blunders that he has made if he had only ridden more in omnibuses. :flock:

Sir Arthur Helps.

58. He and She.

He would through the crowd push,
He would always be in a mad rush.

His inseparable companion, a hair brush
Made him presentable to his lady 'crush'.

He would beat around the bush,
He would try her emotion to flush;

At times there will be a hush hush,
That is when he planned an ambush.

Had he known that her lovely blush,
Was the product of a painting brush;

There might be no more gush,
Of his silly feelings - this slush
!

59. The exception.

An exception proves a rule.

An exception is not the rule!

If an exception becomes a rule,

If man is as stubborn as a mule,

If his head is filled with wool,

If all the vacant minds pool,

Man becomes a wooden stool,

And proves to be a great fool!

It is easy to explain an ignorant person.
Easier to explain a scholar.
Even the creator cannot explain to a person of a little knowledge suffering from pride.

New version:

The Hardest is explaining to a person who says that the Creator doesn't even exist!!!

Ears get decorated by listening to and reading scriptures and not by ear-rings.
Hands get decorated by charity and not by gold bangles.
Body shines by compassion and helping others and not through sandalwood paste.

Dont you think its so similar to this:

Hasthasya Bhooshanam Daanam
Kanthasya Bhooshanam Sathyam
Srothrasya Bhooshanam Saasthram
Bhooshanaih Kim Prayojanam

Charity is the ornament for hands.
Truth is the ornament for neck.
Hearing the scriptures is the ornament for ears.
Where is the need for other ornaments?

Dear Dr Renuka,

It looks so. As you know there are many Subhasistas with similar meaning. The Sanskrit version from which I have quoted in English is given below for your reference:

O that our love might take no end :pout:

Or never had a beginning took!

For where God doth admit the fair,

Think you that he excludeth Love? :nono:

Baron Herbert of Cherbury.

# 60. Illusion and delusion.

The perpetual derision,
Based on truth's torsion; :suspicious:

The unsought repulsion,
Lavished in a profusion.

Every deep incision, :whoo:
Follows an allusion.

Every single excision
Is aimed at seclusion.

Is there a neat collusion
Among those with aversion? :noidea:

Cause of many an illusion
Is just a perfect delusion!

Why is it always adhesion
Instead of one's cohesion? :alien:

Why this love's erosion
And the stupid ill-fusion?

The longer the evasion,
The more the confusion!

Get the correct version
And put an end to tension.

The true and perfect vision
Makes possible the inclusion.
