The true aim of any parents is to make their children self sufficient and independent for life.

We have a lot to earn from the animals and birds. They care for their young ones and protect them endangering their own lives.

But when the young ones grow up and are ready to fend for themselves, the parents just let them go.

Only man wants to exercise his influence on the children life long. We can guide them but we should NEVER try to remote control them.

I am recycling/ recirculating my posts.
This is a complaint against me of late.

yes, but I myself make it very clear and
I NEVER try to pass it off as a fresh post.

The poem thread is nearing ~ 1000 posts.

Isn't it too much to expect the newbies to dig up
the whole bunch of poems at one go?

Should they miss them since they had joined later?

The 2 marks fetched by a page long poem can be got by a reply consisting of just two words in any other thread.

Have you ever thought of this?

When the woman causes the thunder storm in the house
(as Socrates' wife used to do ) the rain follows in the form of the cold fresh water being poured on the poor man.

When the man in the house throws the temper tantrum thunder storm, the rain follows in the form of the hot salty tears of the unfortunate woman in the house.

I know not whether the Laws be right,

Or whether Laws be wrong; :confused:

All that we know who lie in a goal

Is that the wall is strong; :frusty:

And that each day is like a year, :pout:
A year whose days are long. :whoo:

Which is the COSTLIEST bottle of lemonade in the world???

The one which was got poured accidentally on to a laptop ...

ruining it completely! :whoo:

Moral of the incident....

Never have these three in the same location

at any time of the day. :nono:

1. A naughty 2 year old boy. :roll:

2. A full bottle of lemonade.

3. A hi-fi laptop kept ready for use.

Talking of three things forbidden to be present in the same

location at the same time reminds me of the popular riddle

involving a tiger, a lamb and a bundle of green grass. :decision:

The main characters have changed but the basic problem

remains very much the same :rolleyes:

just for a change of topic and to keep myself as a posting member and keeping in mind the desirability to increase the traffic in this thread, and knowing that many take a random walk in this thread, and any posting can be made with impunity, how about solving this maths quiz?

If a + b + c + d = a x b x c x d

find the value of a, b, c, d (for values other than zero)

N.B.: 1.decimal places allowed correct upto second digit
2. I do not know the solution (even if there is one!!)

I am sure it will work 0, but will give it some thought

Hope you are NOT sending me on a wild goose chase :rolleyes:

To solve and find out the values of 4 unknowns,

we need four equations or information!

But only two are given.

So it might after all be a real wild goose chase.

But since you are a detective, you will surely find

the wild goose and the solution.

I am all :ear: to hear the solution. :thumb:

I am sure it will work 0, but will give it some thought

Let us suppose that

a = 1/ sq.root of 2

b = (-) 1/ sq root of 2.

c = + 2 and

d = (-) 1.

So a+ b+ c+ d = (1/sq root of 2) + (- 1/ sq root of 2) + 2 (- 1) = 1.

a.b.c.d = (1/ sq root of 2) x (- 1/ sq. root of 2) x (2) x (-1) =

(- 1/2) x 2 X (-1) = 1.

I think there are multiple answers possible (I know of at least two). Also pl remember that no condition is given that two unknowns cannot have same value, for. eg. a =1; b = 1 may be possible.

Let me give a simple answer (without solving the problem) to keep the pot boiling:

a = 3.32; b = 1.25; c = 2.00; d = 0.90
