Dear a-TB,

I find this offer funny...not many people would like the idea of gambling or being massaged by others cos the same masseurs too touch so many others and it might not even be hygienic even though it might cost a lot.

Further more the air quality in casinos is so bad with so many people smoking and why risk our health by exposure to 2nd hand smoke.

Instead of this offer I am sure most people will prefer having a nice quiet holiday by the sea and hear the waves kiss the ocean shore or watch Shankara TV at least we can gain some knowledge.

Let me explain if you have not already understood.

Some people talk about the vices in the west, some others dream about what fun such vices are, some others are jealous about those who indulge in such vices. All these are normal & innocent people. Normal innocent people will talk, dream, & be jealous of others who make money, freak out,etc…

On the other hand, only you indulged in these vices & you openly admitted it & you are also proud about to the extent of calling it sour grapes for people like me who missed out on such great fun...

People in traditional, cultured families, those who are married, respect their wives, children, & those who are Singles respect their families do not indulge in such debased behavior, & on top of it boast about it that too in religious forums!! Pl understand this is a serious case of mental illnesss…

Please seek immediately mental help my friend before it is too late. Let me know if you need any help, there is a good place in TN I can recommend, it will be a calming environment here for you to recover.. LOL !!

As conservative Indians we are very focused on our families, are largely rooted in traditions, culture, religion, philosophy, god fearing,love our families, love our Kids, etc. try our best to live by our value systems & live this by code all our lives..

Our lives are built on what is important for our kids, their well being, focus is as much on retaining their innocence as long as possible, protect them all the corrosive crap culture of the west, try & get them married into similarly good religious families.

Our lives goal is to move towards the path of God, try & be honest as possible, try & help people as much as possible, try & do good to others, etc.. avoid temptations, avoid the debased junk lifestyle of the west – obsession with sex, drugs, etc…

Similar to the Lion fathers, we fiercely protect our young, guide them at every stage, fend off all the bad influences, fight off the rascals who come to spoil our kids..

Most of us, love our families & kids deeply & would not even venture to indulge or cheat in rascal behavior like the debased NRI fellows. And if ever one of these conservatives digresses, they deeply regret & apologize for it.

And these fellows have the termity to question our honesty….thinking going to some crap las vegas & selling their souls by spending a few nights in some junk brothel is heaven!!.

Luckily we have one of a kind poster in our forum. There may be one more but they are not as aggressive in their posts as my pal.

In my line of work I have come across people whose aggression originates from addiction to visiting bad sites. When a person protests too much you know something is hidden in their closet.

If you remember all those priests or US senators who were most against Gays and they turned out to be themselves Gay. It is easy for people to extrapolate what is going on here...

In your condemnation of the west you have been leaking out your fertile fantasies, pal - No one but you talked about brothels and other vile ideas . I think brothels are exploitative and is only for sick people. Thinking about them is sick .

If you care to notice, even when you were mocking me with your sour grapes stuff etc.., I did not say anything negative about you. Yes, I am against the western lifestyle, & spoke against the NRI’s but there is a reason for it.

Pl understand all of us have met scores of NRIs who cometo India now & then. We have all heard from them about the various things that happen there, we have seen the way they behave here. we have heard from many of our friends, colleagues, etc… about the many NRIs based in the west etc…so our opinions, my opinion are over a long period of time.

At the same time, I know some like JR JI based in the USA are highly religious & much more than many of the Indians here.

You are more than welcome to disagree with my views & we can debate courteously without questioning one’s honesty etc..

Personally I do not drink or smoke and I have never stepped my foot in a casino becos I am not fond of lifestyle that can damage health and be a potential addiction.

So no Vegas for me cos for me each cent I earn has to be earned the rightful way and its a big No No for me to gamble cos that money is not Halal.

But at the same time this is my personal preference and I would not judge anyone else who indulges in it but I made sure I married a person who does not indulge in it for the well being of my family.

Just to add I do not generalize about a whole country right away cos such lifestyle of drinking/smoking/gambling can be found all over the world.

Out here in Msia itself we have a very famous casino.

So people who indulge is such a lifestyle are not only in the West..there are everywhere.

Gambling is not only western culture cos gambling too is present in Chinese and also Indian Kshatriya culture which brought the downfall of the Pandavas.

So I would not want to blame the West or East for the matter.

I prefer to asses anyone or any life style in a non-judgmental one to one manner.

BTW I am Hindu for all practical purposes and my son follows the teachings of Lord Buddha and calls himself a Buddhist....I would prefer alliance for my son from either a Hindu Bride or a Buddhist bride unless the future is something totally different from what I hope it would be.

I like some parts of Western culture like their progressive and open mindedness ..their civic consciousness and also direct approach and lack of hypocrisy.

At the same time I also like some amount of Eastern culture like focusing on balance of mind,body and atma.

I also like Eastern philosophy and the Upanishads.

We can learn good points from any culture for example I have come to know a few Africans from Africa and admire their boldness and out right frankness.

From Chinese we can learn about business ethics and marketing skills.

So God has created various races to learn from each other to make the world a better place for you and me and the entire human race...Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam...We are the World.

I have read quite a good number of Buddhist texts..(not bragging!LOL)...Lord Buddha's teachings are very much Upanishadic.

He does not talk about God not becos He denies God but since the Ultimate is Anirvacaniyam(beyond description)..Lord Buddha chose to remain silent.

BTW the Bauddha Matam is called Nastika cos it does not hold Vedas as Pramanyam..it has nothing to do with the denying the existence of God.

No one including SRi SRiji is above India.
