Wearing a helmet to save yourself from any injuries while driving a bike on road is one thing, so is wearing a helmet while washing the windows of a skyrise, but wearing a helmet to protect yourself while doing a desk job in your office -- well, we can say such thing can only happen in India, that too in Bihar! Even visitors to the office are advised to wear helmets. Such is the state of the office building ready to collapse any time. Work itself is a hazard for many, but going to work in such an office is a greater hazard,
Is that building owned by a helmet manufacturer?

Shocking! Employees of this govt office in Bihar have to wear helmets at work, here’s why

Don't use printed paoers to pack or cover food material. The ink used is one of the culprits
The food safety commissioner has issued an order prohibiting the use of newspapers and other printed material for wrapping, packing and serving food for a period of one year. The order was issued as per Section 30(1) of the Food Safety and Standards Act,2006 which gave the commissioner the power to prohibit the storage, distribution or sale of food articles that are unsafe.
Food safety commissioner Navjot Khosa, in an order pointed out that a risk analysis has found that this would cause chemical and microbiological contamination of food articles. This made the food unsafe and injurious to the health. The consumers are thereby being slowly poisoned, the order pointed out.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away
An apple seed on a day takes one to mortuary the same day
Apple is considered as one the healthiest fruits but this same nutritious fruit can turn fatal. Yes, you heard it right. Apple seeds are capable of poisoning and causing death. Apple seeds contain amygdalin, a substance which releases cyanide when it comes in contact with human digestive enzymes. Amygdalin contains cyanide and sugar which when ingested by the body gets converted into hydrogen cyanide (HCN). This cyanide can make you sick and can even kill you. But acute toxicity is rare with accidental ingestion of seeds.

The beaches in and around Chennai speak for themselves
One cannot afford to forget about its beaches, when one thinks of Chennai.
In many other countries, even a small stretch of sand on the beach line is glorified to such an extent and maintained so clean and beautiful, that one feels as if one is getting into a fairy land. Endowed with the best of natural beaches in the world, as a Chennaite I feel ashamed to say that we do our best to spoil the beauty and tranquility of our God given bounty. Once it was Marina that was the second best beach in the world, but today it has become a an abode of Samadhis and cemeteries, with growing market yards around them, turning the whole area into an exhibition ground. Then we had the Santhome beach which has now been virtually taken over by the fishermen. Mylapore beach which was a pride of Chennai opposite the DGP office for sometime is getting far over crowded and is also turning into a public stall. The Besant nagar beach, once the most favoured and tranquil of all the beaches is also going the Marina way. BESIDES, OUR BEACHES ARE NO MORE SAFE FOR THE PUBLIC AFTER 8:00 P.M.
The way in which even small beaches not in any way comparable to the vastness and splendour of our beaches are maintained abroad saddens me so much that I shed tears of disappointment and despair, whenever I visit our beaches. Apart from official patronage, people's cooperation and appreciation is what can correct the present trend and make our beaches compete with world class ones

Beautiful beaches in Chennai
Located along the coastline of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, the beaches in Chennai are among the most beautiful in the country. With the Bay of Bengal forming the backdrop, these beaches in Chennai provide a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city…

Privileged Prisoners
The extent of the scams in the world behind closed iron doors is a reflection on governance of a prison system which can present inhuman conditions to ordinary inmates. The brazen manner in which those with access to money offer cash for comforts is the very negation of the principle of sending offenders to prison. India may need honest officials more than an ancient cellular Andaman jail or an Alcatraz Island to rein in the corrupters.

Kamalahasyan
Kamalahasan of late has become a Kamalahasyan, a joker coming out all of a sudden with high sounding statements about the political situation in the country.
What has happened to this chap ? He seems to be voicing his concern about corruption, dengue, GST and what not. All of a sudden this self proclaimed genius has become conscious of the real world around him instead of the reel world in which he was and is living. Probably, he wants to become a political entity to usurp power and become a force to reckon with. To prove his mettle as a rationalist and a forward looking person he is dabbling in cheap politics by indulging in stupid gimmicks and anti Hindu remarks. He wants to be in the good books of the Dravidian friends to reap some cheap benefits. Beware of this man who has a loose tongue and a loose character. He deserves to be dismissed out right before he spoils Tamil Nadu politics further.

Pakistan is a HAVEN for terrorists. India is a HEAVEN for peace loving people
Fact from the Pakistanis who shifted to India,
With tears welling up in his eyes, Andani said, "I often think about the place I left behind and my friends there. However, the menace of terrorism had made it difficult for us to survive. When we ventured out every day, we remained unsure whether we would return home in the evening. My Muslim friends there stood by me when riots broke out over the issue of a local temple and mosque. They offered me protection during the most critical time of our lives."

Airlines can't impose flying ban on anyone: Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman. News
Public memory is short, no doubt. Only a few months back, a Shiv Sena MP shoed an airline staff under some silly pretext and there was an uproar in the parliament when the issue was taken up and the airlines banned him from travelling by its airline within India. But the present move by the RS Deputy Chairman is suggestive of the right for any one to misbehave during flights and get away with it without any punishment. The politicians are likely to misuse this provision and take law into their own hands. There must be a way of disciplining the passengers in the interest of a safe and comfortable travel for all law abiding passengers.

Panchagauvya
Now a 19-member committee has been constituted to select projects that can help scientifically validate the benefits of panchagavya, a report in The Hindu says. It will be headed by Union Science and Technology Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan and other prominent members such as former CSIR Director R.A. Mashelkar, IIT Delhi director Prof. V. Ramgopal Rao and Prof. V.K. Vijay from IIT Delhi. Of course, the committee will be not influenced by three members who have links to the RSS and the VHP!
India’s National Programme — Scientific Validation and Research on Panchagavya (SVAROP) — will be coordinated by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in collaboration with IIT Delhi.
Instead of tall claims about the benefits of panchagavya, a scientific approach is what is needed to prove the claims, the negative effecats of the same should also be studied. before launching this as a multicrore project, small scale pilot model studies are necessary,

Panchagavya... if cow urine could cure cancer
Leave alone that there is no peer-reviewed and endorsed scientific basis for the 'cancer-curing medicinal benefits' of Panchagavya — a mixture of milk, dung, curd and cow urine. Why is an agricultural university discussing it?

Parrots are not only used for astrology but can also play a role in criminology
Don't breed parrots as pets, if you are a criminal or a cheat. One day you may get caught, because of your pet.
If you are a politician, don't discuss your secret deals in front of parrots.
Many plots have been unfolded by parrots. Remember that.

Deepa Nishanth , Professor of Malayalam gets death threats from fringe group extremists who have a free run here of late. She is threatened that she must stop writing the way she is writing and must embrace Islam , otherwise she will meet with the same fate as Joseph.
A similar threat was issued to the famous Malayalee writer Raman, who has won several awards, when he wrote based on a comparative study of Hinduism and Islam . He was forced to convert to Islam within 6 months failing which his right hand and left leg will be amputated.
This is one of the present trends in Kerala where Hindus are threatened and Hindu girls are forced to convert and marry muslims. The government there seems to be taking a lackadaisical attitude and not doing anything to control this menace.
MINORITIES THREATENING MAJORITIES CAN HAPPEN ONLY IN THIS GREAT LAND OF SECULARISM, THAT IS INDIA.

One of the latest development in States is PIZZA INDIANISED to cater to the tongue buds of indians with the aroma of Indian spices and Indian tastes. I think this will soon spread to India and become as popular as Indian Dosas. I think the day is not too far off. Just as jugalbandhi music, soon we will have jugalbandhi in the culinary art of India, like jugalbandhi dosas, j.idlis and so on.

Is egg vegetarian or nonvegetarian?
Egg is popularly considered a non- veg food. But if we go by the definition that those who eat flesh are non-veg, egg is indeed vegetarian as IT HAS NO FLESH OR LIFE.
Egg is NOT OBTAINED BY KILLING CHICKEN - just like milk.
Egg white is a suspension of the protein albumen in water, containing no animal cell. Hence ,egg whites are vegetarian and all products containing egg whites are technically vegetarian.
Most eggs available in the market are unfertilised ones, there is hardly a possibility that a chick could have come out of it, had you spared that egg. In addition, there are vegetarians eggs too, which do not hatch.
Times of India
I was half worried all the time that even though I am a hard core vegetarian, since I take cakes and ice cream, whether I can call myself a vegetarian. Now after reading this piece of information, giving the benefit of doubt, I call myself a PURE VEGETARIAN.
Vegans may not accept this argument, but in our country, we do not have vagans.

Eating out has become a costly affair for consumers across the State after the Goods and Services Tax (GST) came into force. While the additional 18% that is loaded on to the bills is proving to be a burden, it has also become clear that some hotels and restaurants have hiked the base price of food compared to pre-GST rates.
The price hike may have already had an impact. Hotels and restaurants say they are seeing 10-20% fewer customers depending on the location.
