Pranams,

I would like to share the information about Adam’s Peak (Sri Pada) at Sri Lanka. It is sacred in relative to four religions due to the holy spirit on the summit.

1) Adam’s Peak
,
mountain in south western Sri Lanka (Ceylon), 7,360 feet (2,243 m) high and 11 miles (18 km) north east of Ratnapura; it is located in the Sri Lanka hill country. Its conical summit terminates in an oblong platform about 74 by 24 feet (22 by 7 m), on which there is a large hollow resembling the print of a human foot, 5 feet 4 inches by 2 feet 6 inches. The depression is venerated alike by Buddhists, Muslims, and Hindus, who regard it as the foot print of the Buddha, Adam, and Śiva, respectively. Many pilgrims of all faiths visit the peak every year. Heavy chains on the mountain’s south western face, said to have been placed there by Alexander the Great, mark the route to the summit.

2) In Sri Lanka, there is Vidhura mountain, otherwise called Rohanacala. On it there appears to be footprint about three cubits long, and one and a half cubits broad. Followers of different religions go near it,and worship it. It is regarded as the foot print of Siva, Buddha and Adam by the
Hindu,Buddhists and Christians respectively. Though jewels, called cat’s eye are available on the mountain, thedevotees do not set store by them as they think they have got the most coveted thing in the footprint.

Is there any other place which attracts pilgrimes of all faiths?

Even this place, Adam's Peak, is not a sanctuary for many faiths like Jews, Zoroastrians and many other faiths. People visiting a particular place in present times may be, for tourist enjoyment and not pilgrimage.

Sir,

All the visiting people cannot be tourists too?

Pilgrim places are created by man to express his perception and the faithfuls that visit them make them sacred. When I visited Lakshman Rekha of panchavadi in Nasik decades before it was a big nallah. In Udupi you can see Krishna through 9 partitions made on a window.

Dear Sir,

Why narrow down our visual field and just look at one specific location to house all faiths?

Isn't this whole world itself a huge huge place that attracts pilgrims of all faiths?

it is said that the stock markets of the world are one such pilgrimage place attracting folks of all faiths, regularly, daily, with an ardent and frenzied faith' where the swamy often comes to visit more than one participant.

i dont know how far this is true.

Dear Kunjs,

Since you thought out of the box..I too suddenly thought out of the box..I think there is another place where people of all faiths come for worship..the only place which men of all faith forget their trouble and attains bliss....But I wont state it here cos I dont want anyone to think that I am spoiling the sanctity of this thread!LOL

Dear Renu,
But the places are different for different faiths! :decision:

You are in glee..But that place is only for members of one gender

Dear Sir,

The members of that one gender are on their way to salvation..the other gender does not need salvation cos the other gender is the Devi here!LOL

Dear RR ji,

Vgane ji got it right but just that he feels the only male pilgrims are on the pilgrimage and there are no female pilgrims..he forgot that the object of worship here is Female!LOL

same goes for the women.. a different place..but also one that applicable to all faiths races creeds castes though maybe restrictive by legalities or performance capabilities to a certain age group.

whereas, the stock market, is applicable to all ages, more in awe when young, eager then, and finally 'aiyooooo' after losing a few millions :)

Most philosophers, spiritual preachers say that the sanctuary of all faiths is the Supreme One just like the rivers that reach the Ocean...The rivers give up their original names and are called as ocean...So too different faiths or paths guide us to reach Salvation!

the trouble comes only when each faith claims that it and it only, is the way to salvation. and all others are fakes or charlatans.

faiths also assume that one wants to reach salvation. what if one has no desire to reach that state and perfectly happy as the way things stand.

just check out this picture for instance. who is it you think? do you want to provide succour to this beggar?
