..I am atheist, I don't think there is any evidence or rational argument in favor of believing in the existence of supernatural entity, there is no super power that cares about us....

The so-called atheist 'rationalist' should note:

Per Vedanta, the basic axiom/premise is that God's true nature and qualities
is beyond the reach of mundane logic or mundane reasoning.
and God doesn't have to necessarily present evidence at our whim.

For the atheistically inclined, your own consciouness itself ( which you cannot deny) is the verily the brahman.

For the theistically inclined, all individual beings and the universe are real and comprise the Brahman.
For the Theistic Vedantin, the Brahman runs this Universe impartially and fairly based
on beginningless karma of individual beings and sufferings are obviously only temporary.

The Atheist is urged to reflect on Poet Nammazhwar's first 20 verses
of Thiru-vaai-mozhi, the following verse in particular:

uLan enil uLan, avan uruvam iv-vuruvugaL
uLan-alan enil, avan aruvam ivv-aruvugaL
uLan ena, ilan ena, ivai guNam udaimai-yil
uLan Iru thagAimai-yodu ozivilan parandhE ( Thiru vaai mozhi 1.9)

BTW, in what terms does the Atheist expect God to be 'caring' of us?
and what's the Atheist plan to remove sufferings ?

Dear Govinda Ji,

You are preaching to the wrong person!

He knows all these much better than anyone of us...believe me.

We should "salute" him for his ability.:D

Sri Govinda

It seems to me that Sri Nara does not want to repeat his viewpoints from prior discussions in threads such as 'God Exists' when he re-joined the forum discussions. Quoting an interpretation - right or wrong - of any scripture has no value to someone whose stated position in this forum is one of indifference to any religious scripture.

It is his brand of belief system which cannot be changed by believer of another system.

So why even try when any 'belief and faith' means suspension of logic in the discussions

Regards

Govinda, I must say I love Azhvar poetry. It was their exquisitely heart rending songs that made a deeply committed theist out of me. The majestic "உயர்வர உயர் நலம் உடையவன் யவனவன் ", the fiery Thondaradippodi Azhvar, the deeply sensual Thirmangai Azhvar, and of course the self-effacing and emotional Kulasekarazhvar, I just couldn't get enough of it.

But I also kept my mind open, never shied away from difficult questions. Long story short, in the words of Thirumangai Mannan -- தெள்ளியேன் ஆனேன் :) Now, I don't subscribe to their theistic message, but surely enjoy the poetry.

BTW, Azhvar verses are filled with social reform ideas, unfortunately, those messages have been ignored or grotesquely misinterpreted.

You have misunderstood me, what I said was -- "I don’t subscribe to the premise ...[that].. there is a god who cares for human beings....". So, in as much as I do not subcribe to this premise, the question of terms of expectation you are asking about does not arise.

Cheers, Dileepan

Is there God? Does God exist? answers Kamban in Yudddha Kanda from my earlier post: 60 second Interview with Kamaban (in Tamil)

Nice one by Kambar to whom a Sadagopar-thiruvandhaadhi, a praise poem on Sri Nammaazhvaar is attributed to.Thank you for sharing.-- Govinda
