I think you had already let the cat out when you spoke of your special day in your reply to Mr. Raghy.
I thought of sending it by 123 greetings and then decided to make the forum pages more colorful. :)

Thank you very much for the lovely bunch of flowers, dear! :yo:

So, you let the cat out of the bag!! :becky:

Little Tejas wants to slide down the giraffe's long neck and ride the zebras when he goes to the zoo. :becky:

Hope he does not want to have anything to do with with the tigers, bears and lions! :nono:

I guess, we might have had a few, even before the wedding!!

P.S: Today, we visited Vandalur Zoo, to see all our friends!! :D

All the kids LOVE the monkeys in the zoo. :love:
Is it because the monkeys are so lively and active or :roll:
do they find the resemblances with their original ancestors??? :rolleyes:

The very first complete sentence in English
spoken by my little grand daughter was
"I want to be a monkey!" :becky:
Here monkey theme is very popular in
children's dresses and the other articles they use.

WE too love monkeys though we do not speak it out!
But we use the word in many expressions like "Monkey business!"
Are there more such expressions? Well I will explore about it soon enough! :)

Dislike carries with it a sense of aversion alone whereas the terminology
hate indicates an intense sense than the quote dislike. Normally, it is said
if someone does not like a person, it means that he would not like him. The
person whom someone dislikes may be his/her own relative or a friend for that
matter. Sometimes that person may be his/her brother, family friend, uncle or
aunty, etc. Whereas, if someone hates a person, it means that he/she would
not mind at all if anything happening to him or her. They do not simply care
if something happens to them. At times, they do not even bother to hear about
them. To be very precise, hate represents an emotion, while dislike is not emotion
but only a feeling of mind. In the course of time, dislike may turn into a liking but
hate generally can not be compared with dislike.

Whatever science may say, we are descendants from monkeys only. We do not have tail but we do have a tail bone. They are more entertaining and active. Somewhere we might have lost some genes!

When we really hate a person we keep thinking about him/her even more than the people we love.
Kamsan hated Krishna but he could think of none other than Krishna.

அதீத விருப்பம் பக்தியில் முடியும்;

சரிசமம் ஆகும் தராசுத் தட்டில்;

கணக்கு வைத்துக்கொண்டு மனம் கனிவான்;

AFFECTION AND ANIMOSITY.

As far as ‘Mukthi’ is concerned ‘bakthi” and ‘dwEsham’ are equal, in all
respects. They look like opposite words, but they are the two sides of
the same coin!

Extreme love culminates in ‘bhakti’ and extreme hatred in ‘dwEsham’.
Which of these is superior? Bhakti to krishnA or dwEsham to Him?

Bhakti in a hundred births is equal to the dwEsham in three births!
This is true according to the time scale of KrishnA.

We remember the person whom we love now and then; but we remember
the person whom we hate – like a constant fire kept alive in the mind.

Krishna does not bother about the emotions accompanying our thoughts-

since He is beyond rAgA and dwEshA. When we fulfill the time

requirement, He showers His blessings on us.

Isn’t it strange that Bhayam and BhEthi work in the same way as

Affection and love in winning MOkshA?

1. funny as a barrel of monkeys = very funny.

2. I'll be a monkey's uncle! = I am amazed!

3. make a monkey (out) of someone = make a fool (out) of someone

4. monkey with someone or something = mess with someone or something

5. monkey business = funny business,silly behavior or dishonest behavior

6. Monkey see, monkey do = Children imitate what they see other people doing.

7. monkey suit = a tuxedo.

8. throw a monkey wrench in the works = to cause problems for someone's plans.

9. do not give a monkey's = do not care about it at all

10. a monkey on somebody's back = a serious problem that will not go away

11. brass monkey weather = extremely cold weather

12. If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys = only stupid people will work for you if you do not pay very much

If you know more 'monkey expressions' you are welcome to share them with the others. :)

When we dislike somebody maybe it is only for some particular reason. When we hate someone, maybe we do so for many reasons. If one tries to find out the genesis of such hatred we may be surprised or shocked to find that our own shortcomings sprouted that. Of course not in all cases. Instead of hating somebody it will do lot to our psyche if we totally avoid such person however close he may be.

I am glad I haven't tasted that kind of hatred so far in my life!
Any relationship can come to an end ONLY both the parties want to call it off. Not otherwise.

Manners

The gentle mind by gentle deeds is known.
For a man by nothing is so well bewray'd,
As by his manners. :hat:

Evil communications corrupt good manners.:evil:

Sometimes one may think stupid and to raise a ridiculous query, but
there is no surprise or wonder that animals do have easy bond like human
beings. One can cherish, love them and interact with them. There is a major
difference that they do not turn their backs or argue with the human
beings or has a habit of Koll Cholluthual. It is better to have pets or
play around with them rather than wasting one's precious time with
some people who do not know the value of a human being except to hurt
the feelings of others and sometimes outwardly reject others. No doubt
this statement may sound little harsh but animals are more good natured
than humans. To cite an instance we had a dog in our house and it gave
three generations and the last one died recently when we were out
in Madurai and it was lying at our door step until I returned back.
Even neighbors did not bother to remove it when unbearable smell was
around.

DEAR FATHER.

Homage to my father (on his death anniversary.)

Eighteen years have not caused any dilution!

Nor have they given us any permanent solution!

We used to follow his many a wise resolution;

Our life was just going around him in revolution.

He has contributed much to our evolution;

And guarded us from every possible pollution.

One day he had decided on his ablution;

And handed us down everything in devolution.

His complete and voluntary dissolution;

Still brings in on us a terrible convulsion.

Life is not just merely an illusion.

We will live up to his expectation!

Dear Naina Sir,

It is very common to hear this comment about very active and mischievous kids -

:croc:

The young daughter-in-law prepared many things for Gokulaashtami puja.

All of them were the traditionally prepared items except the ' kaamura' mixture.

The clever son asked his mother,

"Why are you not offering the Dasaavathaara bakshanam to Krishna?"

The orthodox mother was more than willing and eager to offer the

Dasaavathaara bakshanam to Krishna along with the other items prepared. :)

in the general population?
