@Renuka

Sorry to hear about your horrible experience. I presume this happened early in the morning (going by the time of your first post). Strange that the robber chose such a time. Clearly, he must have been staking you for quite some time.
For the future, you may want to install a concealed video camera. Plus an alarm switch that you can trip up so that the entire neighbourhood gets alerted?

I have my own clinic with 3 nurses..the 2 nurses on duty just ran behind and locked themselves in the back room and I was wondering what happened and then he was asking me where are my staff.

I told him leave them alone and do not harm them.

I am also surprised that my staff only thought of themselves and ran and locked themselves.

"Each one for himself/herself" policy!!!

I am also surprised that my staff only thought of themselves and ran and locked themselves.

I do not know whether the staff did the right thing or not .

Let us look at some possibilities :
1)If they had not gone and locked then all the 3 would have been held hostage by the knife wielding thief and this would have hampered any rescue operation . I doubt whether those lady staff would have been able to offer any sort of physical resistance to the thief .
2) In a way their locking themselves up can be considered a form of blessing because the thief would have got a fear that they would now be contacting the Police using their cell phones and hence he would have packed off earlier without harming Renukaji except for robbing her of her money and jewels .

Yes I do agree one feels bad when people closer to you desert you at the time of Crisis but we need to understand the situation we are in and here act according to what the common sense dictates instead of bravado or blind emotion .
I am in no way justifying the act of the staff but I do feel that we need to see the indirect benefits of their selfish action that saved Renukaji's life .

I have an alarm but he ripped off the alarm button.
It was raining heavily outside and my staff said he was waiting outside till my 1st patient left.
It was 9 am.

My staff says she knows the person but I dare not tell this to the police cos he stays near by and might harm me as he said.

I am feeling much better now and I really thank god that when I was reciting gayatri mantra in my mind non stop after a while I could see the robber cool down a little and give me back my ID card.

I know sir..what ever happens is for the best.
My husband and parents were kind of upset cos you see sir..I could have run and been with them but they locked themselves so fast that it gave me no chance to even run with them and hide.

They ran holding hands but shut the door right away and locked themselves just next to my room.
I saw that it was an selfish act...all they said that some robbers and in the clinic and run scream and and locked themselves right away ..they used my room to run in and locked themselves just in the next room.

I knew it was selfish of them but when the robber wanted to break down that door to search for them I begged him to leave them alone cos I was afraid he would harm them.

I am not praising myself that I was not selfish but I wish they had not locked that room so fast so that I could have come in with them.

anyway its an eye opener for me too.

dear everyone,

i am in tears writing this cos i was just robbed in my clinic by a person who was put a sword at my neck in my clinic and threatened to kill me.

he robbed me of all my money and i pleaded to him not to kill me.
he was swinging his sword non stop at me and at one point i thought i was going to die.

i just prayed to god and recited gayatri mantra in my mind and he cooled down a little.my whole clinic is damaged and he said if i report him he would kill me and my family.

i am waiting for my husband and parents to come.

i thank god i am still alive.
will see you guys later.
I am sorry you had to go through this sad experience. I am with you in spirit, wish I could do more.

Dear Dr.Renukaji,
I am shocked sorry to read about the incident... Thank god you are safe and the grace of Baba will always there for you. Please do take some break and recoupe. prayers are there for your safety.

Cheers.

You say that he stays nearby. Clearly, then, this was no casual or accidental robbery, but premeditated, preplanned. The question is why was he targeting you. Pardon my curiosity, do you wear significant amount of jewellery? The reason I am asking is because of a report I read earlier this year, that in a San Francisco neighbourhood, Indian women and families were targeted by robbers and the local police came out with a public request warning Indian women not to make a public display of their jewellery even if it were only imitation gold.

Dear Dr.Renukaji,

I sincerely hope that this is not an inside job, with one of the staff saying she knows the person. Let the investigation get completed. It is really an eyeopener for you and may be you can think of a male nurse for future? TC

cheers.

Dear Renu Madam,
Got to see this thread just now and shocked to read what you have been through.
Hope things have settled and wish you recover from the situation soon.

No sir..
In fact he was shouting at me why I am not wearing jewellery (I do not wear gold at all not even ear rings) I only wear a silver AUM on a silver chain.

He was swinging his sword cos he was angry that my mobile phone was just a cheap one.

He was thinking I was hiding all my expensive stuff.

He then told me that he has no intention to take my staffs money and only wants my money.
He did not take my staffs mobiles and purses even though their mobiles were latest smart phones.

And now my staff are telling me that they saw the person trying to enter clinic so they ran before he came in.

They said they saw him take a sword out outside the clinic itself.

I really wonder why they did not tell me all this and ran through my room and shut themselves in next room and I was asking them why are you running ad they said a robber and shut themselves fast.

If only they told me he was armed with a sword and was entering the clinic I would have run with them too and shut myself in the next room.

I am not blaming anyone here but I was surprised that they did not tell me all these.
They told me just now that when they saw him enter clinic they thought of running and saving themselves.

I guess people react differently.

I just came back from the police station and now I am waiting for the investigation team to arrive.

I feel a bit better now but still feel a bit nervous...by writing everything down here I feel less stressed.

But I am glad that I could recite the gayatri mantra in my mind..and I could see that after a while the robber calmed down a little.

But at one point he came back in again and swung the sword at me and said he feels like killing me cos he expected a doctor to have a better handphone and also more money in purse.

I lost RM 4000 to him.

I had just deposited money in bank yesterday and kept some for staffs pay.

In a way it was a blessing I did not bank it everything other wise when he sees so little he would have harmed me.

Somehow today when I woke up I was feeling a bit uneasy cos I had a dream last nite that a lady slashed me with a sword and killed me.

And today I see a guy with a sword.

Dear Renu ,Its very disturbing to go through your post ,how is it possible for these attempts ,in general these people observe the place ,other details for a time span then imply this bad stuff. If you have assisoation in your place for doctors and if you are enroll in it ,just place a complaint ,as you stated you are informing to police, hope for the best.I pray god to give you good and strong mental strength.(your staff will / have police inquires ).

It is not an inside job sir..but the person is supposed to be staying near by in same place as them and its seems he has been in and out of prison a couple of times.

You see my staff is not willing to testify this cos they fear their lives in case he kills them cos out here people sometimes throw acid on faces as revenge.

So I have to remain silent on this.
Further more he might actually target me again.

I would not want to see another sword at my neck again.

Here its is quite common for clinics to be targeted.,,they come masked so now one has any idea who they are.

Some of my friends have even lost their cars to robbers who attack them at clinic.

I can not see any patient yet cos I have 0 money with me now and he took all my small change too so I can not see patients too cos I wont have any small change to give them.

I am still not in a state of mind to see patients and also my consultation room has been ransacked and is in a mess and I can't arrange anything till the police arrive.

I am sitting here amidst a mess...so sickening to see my whole consultation room which looks as if it was hit by a tornado.

The only thing I am happy about todays whole episode besides the fact that I was unharmed was the fact that I was reciting the gayatri mantra non stop when he threatened to kill me and swung the sword at my neck.

No other thought came to my mind.I was reciting it thinking that even if I die at least let me think of God.

Shocking. You are unharmed; that is a blessing. Please be more careful in future.

Do install a security device and CCTV, and a prominent sign board with the message - security devices installed.

Renukaji

Thanks for all ur updates so far .With all that happened I feel that you must be glad that
1) You were never harmed
2) You had sufficient money otherwise he would have harmed you for not having any money nor jewellary
3) You had the ability to chant Gayathri Mantra non stop during the time of Crisis .
4) This incident no doubt quite traumatic will have a deep spiritual impact on you as you have seen danger in its most crudest form in close quarters .
For the next few days / few weeks this incident will keep disturbing you and it is quite natural and kindly allow these disturbing emotions to go through you without suppressing it . Writing in this forum or in your personal journal will help let out some of the unwanted stuff and act as a Catharsis ,so keep doing the same .

Kindly listen to this famous Buddhist Chant - Om Mani Padme Hum to bring more peace and calmness to your disturbed state of mind right now and this will also help transmit peace around your surrounding :
You can rip it and listen to in your IPOD or Computer etc
OM MANI PADME HUM (Full length version)
OM MANI PADME HUM (Full length version) - YouTube

So keep your post coming and if you feel you need to spend time in solitude do that and avoid posting for a few days .
All the best .Take Care .Om Peace .

Dear all,

dear VR !
the average calculation will not work for crossing the river .a man calculated the average depth of a river and arrived at the depth of 5'6''and decided to cross since he is 5'9''.but he drowned cos the the max depth is 7'.the math failed him it is like jumping half of the well .
after 6 month the baby will be called pei due to her naughty activity/inability of the elders
(closing of the envelope one by one will take long time .but it can be done faster by arranging them in cascade-cover mouth flop one over the other ,apply gum and close the covers .it will save time.i am unable to give pic. explanation for this and wonder if you got the point )
