Reneka,
Your business is in that place, your client are local. If you move, it will be an inconvenience for your loyal customers. There is no guarantee that the new place will be any safer. I know this experience has affected you badly. Take few days off. Let cooler heads prevail. Please do not jump to conclusions in a hurry.

Yes you are right..shifting means losing all patients and starting for the nothing all over again and waiting for business to start again.

I am not shifting but planning some security features.

I came back to work the very next day even though I felt a bit fearful.
But I had no choice cos I had to see a couple of patients who I needed to conduct some test for their pregnancies.

I could not postpone it cos that test can only be conducted on a specific period of gestation.
If I had taken days off the patients test would have been delayed and that test also determines the well being of the fetus.

So I had to push most emotions behind and come to work.
I am at work right now too.

It is just that I still cant eat much.
No hunger at all.

Only now I can clearly remember what happened cos I also noted that my hair clip(big plastic types) which was on my head had broken off here and there too.
I think he must have pushed me on my chair or wall forcibly..cos that time all I was concerned and was concentrating on was the sword to make sure it does not land on my neck.

Renukaji

This is what life is . It has its own momentum and we sometimes have to just sail through without resisting its flow . We may plan something but then life has its own flow and speed .In a way attending to ur work immediately might also be good considering the fact that it never gives space for u to focus on the negativity of the situation .
So just trust the flow of life and go with it .Keep saying your prayers . All the best .Wish you a wonderful day .Cheers .

This is a poem for you from the famous poet Kalidasa on how to handle a day :

Salutation to the dawn

Look to this day!
For it is life, the very life of life,
In its brief course
Lie all the verities and realities of your existence:

The bliss of growth,
The glory of action,
The splendor of beauty,
For yesterday is but a dream
And tomorrow only a vision,
But today well lived makes every yesterday
a dream of happiness
And every tomorrow a vision of hope.

Look well, therefore, to this day!
Such is the salutation of the dawn.

- Kalidasa (2500 BC Sanskrit)

Time is really relatively speaking.

The robber was with me in the room for 18 mins.

He came in at 9.00am and left at 9.18 am( I saw my watch) but that 18 mins seemed like eternity!

In 18 minutes four healthy and young women could have made

mince meat of the robber with his own sword!!!

IF ONLY they had been united in their efforts.

Time to keep chilli power packets, spray paint cans

and spicy sauce filled water pistols ready for use

in addition to the filmy style short thick sticks (uruttuk kattai)

Dear VR ji,

It is not so easy cos I was unarmed and also a man has brute strength... you see I also was thinking if I should try to save myself and run but I was thinking that the robber might not have murder as a motive but if I try some stunts with him he might try to injure or kill me cos he might fear that he will be caught by police.

I was just waiting to see if he injures me..if anything had come to close too me then I would have attempted to defend myself.

Dear Dr.Renukaji,

Glad you are back to work. My cousin from childhood has problem with his left eye..multiple surgeries have been done.He is about 53 and dialy comes to the clinic.BTW he is also a Dr. His clinic is in modst of poor class of people and he is there from morning to night 10pm. Of late he has been complaining of pain in his right eye also and regreted that he is not able to do justice to his profession as he cannot sit longer hours and cannot read as madly he was doing a couple of years back. Earning money is also there, but his committment to his professsion moves me. His regret of nto being able to do justice to his profession makes me feel so good.

Look at you..You are also back and your committment towards your patients is in the same scaleas of my relative. Both in noble profession and comitted. In spite of health and personal problems spirit of duty comes first. Any normal person wpuld have closed shop and took a break as most members here suggested.

Cheers to you and your committment towards your profession. Take care.

You know I use a cheap simple mobile phone.
The robber was angry with me he was yelling at me "You are a doctor and you are using such a cheap phone? You must be lying and I will kill you for lying and tell me where is your smart phone?"

I had to convince him that I only use a cheap phone.

He did not believe me and was swinging his sword at me.

I am thinking now that I basically do not desire lots of material stuff thats why I do not even wear gold and I use simple mobile phone with just sms and phone facility.

It cost me some RM 90 only(Rupees 1500).

So having too less desires also can put one's life at risk.

The robber could not believe that a doctor used a a cheap phone.

Now you are frightening me .I am also using a very cheap mobile and I hope I do not get thrashed by some thief for carrying a very cheap mobile .:)

Very true. At one hand it feels good that vivekam dawned or rather was put to use and nothing stupid was
resorted to, but at the same one feels disappointed or let down witnessing such a meek surrender.
Wither go all the fights, advises quotes etc., all those only for cyber fighters?
Time perhaps to preach to the staff about selflessness or call of duty beyond documented roles, or rather get
them to be more trust worthy, or get more trust worth staff.

Yes what to do we simple ones who do not like expensive phones stand a risk of being trashed.

See I do not wear gold itself the robber was real mad with me.

But one thing at least he gave me back my Sanskrit books which was in my bag.

I told him those are for my exam please give me back and he gave it back to me.

:sorry: Joining late. I can give a clue.
It is a ladies forum. This is more than enough!
So it means, it is inappropriate to know. I take the clue.
I thought being aware about it would help, just incase I bump into it accidentally(?)
Does that forum restrict registration only to ladies? How does it enforce?

It is not that one was meek as to surrender and all fights are only cyber fights.

You should have seen the length of the gleaming sword.

One wrong move on my part would have had my head roll.

I prayed to God to give me courage to face him.

I was alone and unarmed.

You know most woman would have tried to defend honour when asked me to take off clothes but I did not fight back.

I removed my lab coat first and then kept reciting the gayatri mantra in my mind to make sure the robber does not ask me to remove everything.

He then said he wants to feel my body.

I consented cos the sword was at my neck..but yet again I saw him back off and he didn't touch me.

I had to be very careful...you see I can still survive a strip search cos life is not lost but I dare not fight back so soon cos the risk of me losing my head was really high.

I also had some confidence that God would help me and I never became hysterical in front of robber.

It might look like a meek surrender but I had no idea where I got the strength to face this all alone.

All the while I had a voice in my head telling me just do as he says and you will not be harmed physically.

Thats only a speculation. Most people carry it only to create a fear. They seldom use it. They also are afraid of their life, rather
love their life.

Dear Renu,

I entered this thread at 11. 15 a.m and wrote one post in reply to Ozone Sir! I have taken so much time for the update news!

I am shocked and feel sorry to read about your frightening episode, on an auspicious day! We were doing Pooja at Ram's

ancestral home for ThiruvONa deepam. Of course, I was just thinking about my forum friends too! Lord Balaji has protected

you from India, in addition to the Gayathri manthra you chanted. Take care!
