In the township where we lived for 19 long years, angry and upset housewives would bolt the kitchen door and self immolate themselves after everyone has left the house.

So one fine day the carpenters went round and removed the bolts from all the kitchens in all the quarters.

I asked them," What if the women burn themselves in the bathroom? Will you remove the bathroom bolts also?"

If the ceiling fan is not there they can still find some other thing to hang from! :(

[h=3]Panama Papers: Who leaked the biggest haul of secret documents?[/h] New Delhi, April 5 (IANS) The Panama Papers leak, claimed by many as the "world's biggest", has created ripples across the world, upsetting the rich and mighty with accounts in tax havens. The leak turned out to be a Monday mayhem for around 214,000 hidden offshore companies after a group of global journalists, International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ), got hold of the papers of the practically unknown law firm Mossack Fonseca based in Panama. According to reports, over a year ago, an anonymous source contacted German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung (SZ) and submitted encrypted internal documents from Mossack Fonseca, detailing how the firm set up and sold anonymous offshore companies around the world.

The list has been extracted from more than 11 million secret documents belonging to Mossack Fonseca, a law firm headquartered in Panama, which provided offshore companies to the well-heeled across the world, including 500 Indians. “PM Modi has himself requested that this matter be investigated... I think it’s a healthy step that these kind of exposés are being made,” Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has said.

[h=3]47 Indian police get life in prison for killing Sikh pilgrims[/h] A special court in India has sentenced 47 policemen to life in prison for killing a group of Sikh pilgrims in 1991 whom they had claimed were militants, a prosecutor said Tuesday. The officers were convicted of shooting dead the pilgrims to try and earn promotions in Uttar Pradesh state which at the time was hit by Sikh militant activity, the Press Trust of India (PTI) said. The officers stopped a bus carrying the pilgrims and their families before later marching 11 of them into a jungle area of the northern state and carrying out the killings, prosecutor SC Jaiswal said.

At the time of her rescue, Marina, then 8 months old, weighed only about 20 pounds (9 kg), about half the ideal weight for her age, and was suffering from an eye injury of unknown origin, according to SeaWorld.
