I still shudder to think of the Anti Hindi agitation in 1965 and

how much it affected our academic year and life in the hostel!

[h=3]Is Karunanidhi toying with another anti language stir, this time against Sanskrit?[/h] For 93-year old DMK Chief M Karunanidhi, the anti-Hindi agitation was something that gave a fillip to his political career as an emerging leader in the 1960s when he was in his 50s. Now, it looks like Karunanidhi has plans for yet another anti language agitation, this time against Sanskrit. Let me tell those who try to impose Sanskrit: don’t create a situation for another agitation like the anti-Hindi agitation.

[h=3]25th ‘arrest’ anniversary of A G Perarivalan: Is there still hope for the convict in Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination?[/h] For the first time after Rajiv Gandhi assassination on May 21, 1991, hundreds of people joined a massive rally from Rajarathinam Stadium in Egmore to the Fort St George, the state secretariat, on Saturday to remember the 25th ‘arrest’ anniversary of A G Perarivalan, one of the convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case who has been behind bars since the day of his arrest on June 11, 1991, without bail or parole. It could be that the issue is likely to be raised again by Jayalalithaa in her meeting with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 14 in Delhi.

[h=3]Asymmetric molecule, key to life, detected in space for first time[/h] By Irene Klotz CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (Reuters) - Scientists for the first time have found a complex organic molecule in space that bears the same asymmetric structure as molecules that are key to life on Earth. The researchers said on Tuesday they detected the complex organic molecule called propylene oxide in a giant cloud of gas and dust near the center of the Milky Way galaxy. Akin to a pair of human hands, certain organic molecules including propylene oxide possess mirror-like versions of themselves, a chemical property called chirality.
