All could not afford to repair.

That is why I had said "We owe them their smile!"

Crores of rupees are given away in all sorts of compensations.

Clever people borrow money which they never intend to repay.

Loans are written off without a care in the world!

But there is very little money to spare when it comes to helping a person live with dignity. :(

The fodder scam is 20 years old now. And it had begum long before 1996 when it was 'discovered'.

With this kind of lapse in the legal proceeding and passing judgement

the state / the whole country may disappear! What to say about missing some files??? :(

The theft spanned for many years, and allegedly involved numerous Bihar state's administrative and elected officials across multiple administrations of the Indian National Congress and the Janata Dal parties. The corruption scheme involved the fabrication of "vast herds of fictitious livestock" for which fodder, medicines and animal husbandry equipment was supposedly procured.[SUP][1][/SUP][SUP][4][/SUP] Although the scandal broke in 1996, the theft had been in progress, and increased in size, for over two decades.[SUP][5][/SUP] Besides the magnitude and duration of the theft, the scam was and continues to be covered in Indian media due to the extensive nexus between tenured bureaucrats, elected politicians and businesspeople that it revealed,[SUP][6][/SUP] and as an example of the mafia raj that has penetrated several state-run economic sectors in the country.

The Censor Board has asked all references to Punjab, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Jalandhar and some other cities to be deleted from the film. The unreal antics of the government appointed Censor Board have only been surpassed by muckraking of the various political parties making it into their own football.

Probably they mistook that 'C' stood for 'Censoring' and not for 'Certifying'!

[h=3]HC blasts CBFC for 'censoring' instead of 'certifying'[/h] Mumbai, June 10 (IANS) The Bombay High Court on Friday pulled up the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for insisting on 'censoring' films instead of 'certifying' them and demanded to know why it was not banning 'Udta Punjab' film if it was trying to glorify drugs. Simultaneously, it asked the makers of the film to tone down the expletives and certain vulgar scenes to which the CBFC has objected as these alone cannot guarantee the film's success. A division bench comprising Justice S.C. Dharmadhikari and Justice Shalini Phansalkar-Joshi, which concluded the two-day hearing following a petition filed by the "Udta Punjab" producers, will pronounce its final verdict on Monday.

Rs 100-crore club has poisoned our filmmaking sensibilities: Naseeruddin Shah

New Delhi, June 11 (IANS) Aspiring to cross the glorified figure of Rs 100 crore at the box office is proving to be a "poison" for the Indian film industry, says acclaimed veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah, who believes making content-based movies more economically will be a step in the right direction. Just last month, Naseeruddin featured in two films -- "The Blueberry Hunt" and "Waiting". "The Blueberry Hunt" just came and went, but "Waiting" -- a story on a special bond established by two people from different walks of life, who befriend each other in a hospital while nursing their respective comatose spouses -- found many takers.

BJP’s Kerala surge plan: woo Christian community

As the BJP analyses the results of the recent Assembly elections, party chief Amit Shah has asked state leaders to woo Christians, a community that the party sees as a prospective support base in southern and northeastern states. Shah, who is scheduled to visit Kerala soon to find out how the BJP lost core votes in the polls, reportedly told an NDA delegation from Kerala led by Kummanam Rajasekharan, which met him earlier this week, that the state unit has to work on getting the community on board. Sources said state BJP leaders have been asked to reach out to the community to create a “level of trust and reduce trust deficiency”.
