    US won't restore Yellowstone grizzly bear protections

    BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - U.S. officials will not restore federal protections for Yellowstone-area grizzly bears, despite a court ruling that called into question the government's rationale for turning grizzly management over to states that are now planning public hunts for the animals, according to an announcement Friday in in the Federal Register.

    The Nobel Prize in Literature might be canceled in 2018 after the Swedish Academy was rocked by a sexual misconduct scandal, the Guardian reported Friday. "The Swedish Academy yesterday discussed the Nobel prize and came to no decision,” Per Wästberg, who lead a panel that awards the prize, told the Guardian after a meeting of the members of the prize committee. The controversy stems from accusations from 18 women, alleging sexual misconduct by French photographer Jean-Claude Arnault, with whom the Swedish Academy-which awards the Nobel Prize-has close ties.
