They DO rhyme but are the connected in any other way like
kaththi and suththi ( both are weapons)
thAthA and pOthA ( both are males)
thAthi and pEththi (both are females)
nEthA and janathA ( both are humanas)
kari and nari (both are animals)
madhi and nadhi (both adorn Lord Siva's head)
'maNdu' rhymes very well with 'guNdu' but it will make sense only when we are able to find a person who is both maNdu and guNdu!

You may be knowing that in Telugu guNdu means 'shaven head' or mottai! So a guNdu maNdu will have nothing inside his head or outside his head!
