[h=3]NYC mayor launches task force to deal with topless Times Square women[/h]New York City Police Commissioner William Bratton and Planning Commissioner Carl Weisbrod will co-chair a special committee to look into what the city can do about an aggressive — albeit sexy — bunch of street performers making their presence known in the heart of Manhattan. The committee is to get back to Mayor Bill de Blasio by Oct. 1 with its recommendations. Times Square, with its Broadway theaters, huge video billboards, hawkers and gazillions of tourists in the heart of Manhattan, has cleaned up its image in the past 20 years and turned itself into a hub for media and banking.

Will this launch a fresh wave of controversy ??? :noidea:

[h=3]A Rendezvous with Rameswaram[/h] On his way back to India, Swami Vivekananda liked the sea voyage, meditating and relaxing from his strenuous activities in the West. In the early morning of January 15, 1897, the coast of Ceylon with its majestic Coco palms and golden hued beach was seen at a distance. A gaily decorated Steamer carried the Swami and his party from the Ship to the Colombo harbour. A deputation of the notables of Ceylon welcomed him, and he was taken in a huge procession through many triumphal arches.

Duke And Duchess Get Planning Permission For £60,000 Tennis Court

It’s no secret that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are big tennis fans. The new tennis court will replace the already existing court at Anmer Hall, which has fallen into disrepair, and will be built 36ft away from the original to “improve the views” from the 10-bedroom home, according to The Daily Mail. The site of the original tennis court is to be turned into part of the back garden, which can’t be seen from the public road.

[h=3]Put The Lotion In The Basket: The Silence Of The Lambs House Is For Sale[/h] It’s a question worth mulling, because the four-bedroom residence at 8 Circle Street, in the quaint town of Perryopolis, Pennsylvania, is currently up for sale. For a reasonable $300,000 (£191,000), you could scoop up the home of Jame Gumb, better known under his murdering nom-de-plume Buffalo Bill. Scott and Barbara Lloyd, who bought the house in 1976 and are now looking to downsize, lived upstairs while director Jonathan Demme filmed Jodie Foster and Ted Levine facing off downstairs.

NOW I agree that movies represent real life change overs!!! :thumb:

[h=3]Bollywood's women are stealing limelight from men[/h] After decades of male domination, Bollywood has seen a recent wave of hit movies starring Indian women in tough, smart lead roles, suggesting the gender tide may finally be turning. India's movie goers are used to watching glamorous and often scantily clad women on screen, almost always playing damsels in distress or love interests torn between family duty and following their heart. "The good-guy bad-guy formula is no longer working and we are exploring real stories," actor Huma Qureshi told AFP. The writing is improving and actors are willing to take more chances," she added.

How many of us realize that we too need solar power

just like all the plants and most of the animals do??? :flame:

[h=3]Indian PM offers solar power to Pacific island nations[/h] Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi Friday offered to illuminate thousands of homes in Pacific island nations with solar power in a bid to help them combat climate change and natural disasters. Modi made the pledge as leaders and delegates of 14 Pacific nations gathered in the western desert state of Rajasthan for a summit as host India attempts to boost its profile in the Pacific, at a time of growing Chinese economic and political influence in the region. "We now commit... to provide solar electrification to 2,800 houses -- 200 houses in each Pacific island country," Modi said, after highlighting India's own plans to ramp up its renewable energy to 175,000 megawatts by 2022.
