Dear VR ji,

I was reading some ancient Ayurvedic health tips which says that Milk,Milk products and Yogurt are bad for health.

It says that Milk increase mucus production in the body and Yogurt becos of its fermented sour nature affects bones and causes arthritis in old age.

Only ghee is allowed to be consumed becos Ghee has no milk solids since it had been clarified.

Dear Renu,

I am sure you know these things better than me.

Milk is the only wholesome food which can be taken by people of all ages and all sexes.

Curds provide the friendly bacteria we very much need for a healthy living.

Ghee in small quantities may be good but it is a :nono: in large quantities.

Sugar produces more mucus than any other food item but no one thinks twice before diving into a plate of sweets or a bowl of kheer - except the sweet blooded sweet people.

During a recent illness my stools turned the color of the belly of a snake.

I feared that something went wrong with my liver functions. My brother reassured me that it was due to the powerful 3G antibotic I was put on by a local doctor.

It killed all the friendly bacteria in addition to all the harmful germs. It took more than a week for the normal color to return.

See how the friendly bacteria affect many of our activities.

I learned recently that maintaining bed riddden people is easier and less smelly when they are put on a milk based diet like that of the infants RATHER THAN on the tamarind and dhal based preperations like saambaar and rasam.

As for onion and garlic... the less said the better! :bolt:

Dear VR ji,

Read this link..its given here...Ancient Siddha Veda Principles. It says the fermented food is not good for body.

But I am willing to go Vegan.I have been thinking of stopping milk and milk products for sometime.

Anyway read this link:

Diet Recommendation Suggested by Dr Pankaj Naram 2

Dear Renu,
Thanks for the useful link! :)
Fermented food may mean grape wine, toddy and other intoxicating drinks!
Going vegan is easy-provided we get the equivalents of what we eat from plant based food items.
Both my sons and all their family members are 100 % vegan.
They eat better food than vegetarians and have plenty of choices.
I doubt whether I will get all those options here in India and
even if I do whether they will fit within budget!
Everything is converted from U.S $ to Indian rupees!!!
