Wellington, March 10 (IANS) An Indian-origin liquor store owner and manager in New Zealand have been ordered to pay an Indian employee NZD45,000 ($32,881) in damages over racial harassment, media reported on Tuesday. Satnam Singh said he suffered racial abuse, culminating in physical assault, while employed for two months at Scorpion Liquor in Aucland's Mt. Roskill area, the New Zealand Herald reported. Store manager Shane Singh and his mother Raj Devi, who owns the business, have not responded to the claims yet.

Remote domestic violence is now a reality! :(

[h=3]Women face growing threat of online domestic abuse - experts[/h]By Maria Caspani UNITED NATIONS (Thomson Reuters Foundation) - Online domestic abuse has become a growing threat for women around the world, with their partners using the Internet, smartphones and tablets to harass them and track their every move, experts said. While technology has presented new forms of abuse, it has also yielded solutions to help battered women seek assistance, said the experts, who urged women not to allow abuse to deter them from using the Internet or social media. "We can't allow technology to (become) another way to silence women," said Michaelia Cash, the minister assisting the Australian prime minister for women, at a panel during the U.N. 59th Commission on the Status of Women.

For NOT giving a platform for the vile villains???

[h=3]Indian government should hang its head in shame: BBC filmmaker[/h]Washington, March 11 (IANS) British-based filmmaker Leslee Udwin says the Indian government should hang its head in shame for banning her documentary on the December 16, 2012 fatal gang-rape of a 23-year-old Delhi woman. India banned the BBC documentary - "India's Daughter" - on the rape of the woman who has come to be known as Nirbhaya or the Fearless, following an uproar over convicted rapist Mukesh Singh's comments blaming the victim. "The home minister (Rajnath Singh) blamed the protesters when these were protests on the Gandhian level, peaceful and right and good," Udwin told the Los Angeles Times.

[h=3]Modernizing 'Cinderella' with humanity and the right stars[/h]Everyone knows the tale of Cinderella. For one, Disney's live-action adaptations of its animated properties have become big business for the studio. Between "Alice in Wonderland" (2010) and "Maleficent" (2014), Disney has grossed nearly $2 billion worldwide from mining their archives for material to update.

Hoping that people won't steal useless stuff!

[h=3]This Android update may stop your phone being stolen[/h]Google's (GOOGL) latest Android update has an anti-theft feature, which could make stolen phones useless to thieves. The feature, called "Device Protection," acts as a kill switch on devices with the Android 5.1 operating system. If a phone is lost or stolen, it will remain locked until the owner signs in with their Google account - even if someone resets the device to factory settings.

Extra marital affairs help boost income for the medical profession!LOL

I have noted that those who are having extra marital affairs tend to take very good care of their health and come for routine screening of STD/HIV on regular basis and take every symptoms of even a simple cough and cold seriously.

Than the Chinna Veedu scenario is even better...Chinna Veedus tend to take very good care of their lovers health..cos they want to show the man that they care more for him that his wife..so even if the guy is just having a mild headache or just slight cough..the Chinna Veedu brings him to the clinic and shows so much concern and care.

Then the guy also runs to clinic when the Chinna Veedu falls sick to show her that he cares!

Then one has to watch the romantic drama that takes places in the consultation room..both want to display their love and want to show me how much they care for each other.

So its Entertainment! Entertainment ! Entertainment for me!LOL

And I go home happy that people are foolish enough to spend for nothing at all at a clinic!LOL

So if doctors want better business..the Extra Marital and Chinna Veedu syndrome need to be on the rise!

But at the same time its reflects badly on how legally married faithful husbands and wives do not show much concern about each others health.

Dear Renu,
I have heard about occupational hazards.
This is occupational entertainment!
The married couple do not have to exhibit their loyalty and love since they are bound together by the thrice knotted mangal sutra.
The chinna veedu on the other hand had a Damocles' sword hanging over her head. This man might select another younger and more beautiful girl/ woman anytime and just walk away from her leaving her high and dry.
So just to keep him cemented to her ( since he is already welded to his legally wedded wife) she has to enact all these loving scenes!
Survival of the smartest!

The chinna veedu may be as cautious as if living in a land studded with landmines.

Often the wedded life lives in pretty much similar conditions.

The only difference is that the chinna veedu may face total desertion

and the wife may face unexpected explosions!

Better to take NOTHING for granted and live in caution and vigil.

Dear VR ji,

The Chinna Veedus are not always younger and more beautiful than the first wife..I have seen some older and less beautiful become chinna veedus too.

The reason given by the man is 'she is my intellectual equal"LOL

Men will find a 1000 excuses to have an extra female in life..its like Sahasraranamam of excuses!LOL

Dear Renu,
I think just as these men have two wives they must also have two doctors - one for each wife.

I wonder whether all the doctors will be as vigilant and careful as you are.

Some day or the other they may let the cat out and it will be followed by a fierce feline fight to the finish!!!

[h=3]Decades after divorce, UK millionaire faces claim from ex-wife[/h]By Estelle Shirbon LONDON (Reuters) - A penniless British woman seeking financial support from her millionaire ex-husband 22 years after their divorce was told by Britain's Supreme Court on Wednesday that she could pursue her claim, a ruling with implications for other British divorcees. "This is definitely a judgment that will be referenced in the future in other cases where an individual becomes rich in the years after they divorce," said Marilyn Stowe, senior partner at the firm Stowe Family Law. Dale Vince and Kathleen Wyatt were both poor when they married in 1981.

[h=3]Plan to convert 101 rivers into waterways: Nitin Gadkari - The Economic Times[/h]NEW DELHI: In order to boost transportation of goods and passengers through waterways, the government plans to seek the Parliament nod for converting 101 rivers into waterways, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari today said. For 55 rivers, consultants have been appointed and detailed project reports (DPR) will be formulated once necessary approvals were sought, he added. The government has so far declared only five river stretches as waterways. Waterways could contribute significantly in propelling economic growth, he said, adding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be invited to Varanasi to visit a multi-modal area comprising terminals.
