Think or sink!

My mother has seven siblings - all with an age difference of ~ 1 year.

Her mother (my namesake and my maternal grand mother) died after delivering these eight children - by the time she was 25 years of age.

It was her mother ( my mother's maternal grand mother who had got widowed at a very young age) that brought up all these eight savalaik kuzhanthaigal!

I shudder to think of the tons ad tons of food she must have cooked for them during her life time. She lived to a ripe old age making herself useful - until she took to bed before the sunset of her life.

By a strange coincidence my great grand mother died

within 10 days of my paternal grand father's demise.

My father's closest friend - a muslim gentleman-

died within 10 days of my father's demise.

None of these people lived in the same city when this

happened. Real affection does not get diminished by the

distance of separation. Real affectin does not develp just

becuse we are throwm together in the same city or even same

locality or even in the same house! :(

I am a simple minded person and people who play hard to get

are far beyond my power of comprehension.

NOT THAT I REALLY CARE!!!

dear VR ji,

I agree that real affection knows no distance and sometimes even blood relatives might not really be loved ones in the real sense.

As time goes by all we can realize is that finally we can depend on no one.

Relatives are just namesake in this world..Now I go by the Motto ..Keep your enemies close but your relatives closer!

I am getting sick and tired of getting the same dream on each and every auspicious occasion.

The dream is always the same..seeing a really dirty toilet with excreta!

Had the dream even on Ram Navami,Ponggal and even today early morning for Tamil New Year.

Isn't there any other dream for me?

I wonder what the heck it really means?

Its nauseating to get such dreams!LOL

During those days, family planning was not a popular concept.
Even if it were, there was no fool proof methods known to do it.
So as long as the women reamined fertile they kept delivering babies.
Sometimes the mother and her daughter(s) would deliver by turns.
There would be a benevolent chiththi/ aththai/ paatti
to help them the delivering and taking care of the babies. :bump2:

dear Renu,
There is a streak or a flood of selfishness in every love we see.
The reasons will depend on the relationship between the persons. It may be for the sake of pleasure/ safety/ secruity/ economic support/ companionship/physical assiatance.
Even the love towards God called Bhakti is not selfless if we seek something in return.
Men are more courteous to the paid servants and cooks than to their own wife. Reason...???
The paid person can just walk out without giving notice anytime but the wife - held in place by her thaali - will grin and bear all the unpleasant words/ actions.

Am I the only one who keeps deleting people from my life?

I feel when I am old I am going to be with Me,Myself and I!LOL

Dear Renu,
Any deletion or addition happens because both the parties wish to do so.
Even if you want to delete, the other person may want to have you in the circle. So this hypothetical situation will never become a reality.
It is a question of WHO need WHOM more! :)

Dear Renu,
It just happens in order to ruin your day.
Don't let it succeed in its filty purpose.
Next time you enter a toilet in your dream make sure
to wake up and beat the dream in it own game!:thumb:

It hardly matters whether she raised seven children or eight children.

The point I wanted to stress is that she devoted her entire life in

bringing them up without talking about her quota of work, her free

time, her preferences and her entertainments. :hail:

Even in her last days her only wish was to feed the persons whoever

seemed to be hungry or haggard or poor or famished.

She does not deserve to be refered to by the word "useless woman":(
