Think or sink!

We all know about the interesting combination of kodaak kaNdan and vidaak kaNdan.

I am noticing a new similar combination of edaak kaNdan and vidaak kandan. :)

When the mobile keeps ringing/ singing the person takes a look at who is calling

and decides whether to answer the call or just remain silent.

It will be too obvious and too rude to cut the call after the name of the caller is known

So he / she just sits tight until the some sweet asareeri announces that

"The person you are trying to contact is busy/ unable to answer the call"

Will more similar new combination be formed in the future?

True mam,

i just got affected by head spinning (vertigo)- due to lack of sleep or sleeping decipline . ABOVE 40 , needs 7 to 7.5 hrs sleep.
Murali sharma .CBE.

Dear Mr. Murali,
We all need 6 to 8 hours of sleep... neither more nor less. There was a time when I was nicknamed as Super woman and could manage with just 6 hours of sleep and spend the rest of the day engaged in many creative activities.
I am getting older and need more sleep since mostly I am working on my P.C with a zero watts bulb glowing on the center of my head - due to the heat produced.
I am happy one person in the entire Coimbatore has decided to interact with me in a pleasant manner. :)
Dear Sir! :welcome: to this thread! :)

I must have guessed about the cascade / tidal wave / oblivion/ blackout / irresistible sleep approaching when I started dozing in between posts and also while singing bhajan in the temple on Kruthigai day.

I wonder how Napoleon managed to sleep while riding on his horse.

Even if he were strapped to it, he might end up with his body below the horse and head closest to the ground - due to the jerks and jumps as the horse gallops.

The temple has become a laali-peeli-kaali-neeli area once again. Too many dresses for the deities and not enough storage space. Kepping the clothes folded will ocuupy less space and be more manageable. No it can't be so.

When the new priest was taking out a dress for the deity I was getting more and more tense imagining a family of vipers inside the cardboard box (in which the dresses were stuffed) and were ready to attack the priest who was disturbing the serenity of their chosen home.

I warned the priest about the snakes in the premises and he asked me whether they were there in THAT box.

May be he would have been happier with an extreme encounter with one of those vipers but I kept praying that he should meet with any calamity in the temple premises!

Did you use maavu ground from rice or dilute the dosa maavu bought from market.

Diluting and using the latter could have saved you lot of labour and time.

you could have sung more krishna songs instead in time saved. just an idea.

Dont I sound like your sister in chennai -the idea expert.lol

Dear Mr. krish,

I have to make the necessary corrections in all your statements! :)

1.The image is Courtesy Google Images.

I can hardly bend double or sit or squat.
This kolam is a feat beyond my capacity NOW!

2. I grind my own Idli /dosa maavu at home.
I don't trust the product sold in the shops/ by vendors.

3. I could have sung more songs but my limit was 75 minutes of soulful singing.

4. You sound like you could have been one my Sisters I.L. :ohwell:
But in reality they all were/ are very kind to me. :)

The only surviving S.I.L is my ardent fan and comments after reading my blogs and posts.

I am lucky that both my D.I.L and S.I.L like my writing and appreciate it.

This gap was NOT another oblivion.

The laptop disc have zero free space and keeps complaining
once in every 2 minutes...like a very pretty newly married girl.

(Who will bother is an old/ugly/long since married wife complains?)

My elder son has set up some program to get the disc cleaned up .
Looks like the process is going to take hours - even if not eons.

So I had to wait for my turn to use the desktop. :clock:

Dear Sis,
As always, you have read Krish Sir's post in haste! :ranger:

He has mentioned about me; the Sing. Chennai vAzh sister - the 'Idea Thilakam! :becky:

P.S: You should never miss to type the courtesy of the image you have posted!!

My dear Raji,

You seem to have read my reply in haste.

I have started my post with this sentence

Dear Mr. krish,
I have to make the necessary corrections in all your statements! :)

There is no correction in his statement that

1. you are my dear younger sister and that

2. you live in Singaarach Chennai and that

3. you are a real in expert in original ideas!

So I did not have to correct it dear!

It has been well established by the popularity of your thread you are The Idea Thilagam.
No one can either deny it or challenge it. :first:

I will say the source of my images now and here itself. All the images posted by me are Courtesy Google - except those posted in my album, which are my very own!

Is it OK now dear Raji???

If I post my own photos, they will go directly to my album and not to any other thread!

Dear VR ji,

I usually get my groceries and vegetables from a store at a mall near my house.

Most of the workers there are from Nepal..only the managers and supervisors and admin staff are Msians.

There is one worker from Nepal who tends the weighing station for us to weigh fruits/veg and he packs it for us.

He is always full of smiles..he must be in his mid 30's and I always address him as Bhaiya.

No matter what time of the day he is always smiling and hands over my weighed items placing it in his both palms like making an offering.

I started to think"what a polite wonderful person..who smiles all the while and gives me my items on his palms bowing down a little..One needs to be like him..even though far away from his homeland he is always smiling"

So he became my role model to be more friendly..but 2 days back I wondered when I saw him again"Is he this nice to everyone or only to a selected few?"

So I decided to observe him..and much to my surprise with others he was not even smiling or looking at their faces..he was giving items with only one hand..that too out stretched hands and no bowing down too.

But when it was my turn to get stuff weighed..he was all smiles and bowing down again.

Then I thought..most others do not greet him..they just place items on the counter to be weighed.
I always address him as Bhaiya and tell him politely to weigh the items.

So I guess its the Bhaiya sentiment that makes him happy to see me.

Did you see the film nepali in tamil where srikanth puts a mask of a nepali and goes about murdering people.......

See if the fellow is a tamilian wearing a nepali mask.lol

Dear Renu,
When we give respect we also get respect.
I for one, greet everyone -even members of the family everyday.
It spreads smiles and a good feeling and even feeling of being loved for just being oneself.
Most people treat others as extension of their professional instruments and gadgets and not as fellow human beings with intellect and emotions as well.
We ourselves smile at some people, hug some others and turn away the eyes/ face when we see some other characters.
Life is mirror. Smile at it and it amilses back a us. Growl at it and it growls back at us!
It is that simple dear! :)

In Fatima College where I used to study (1963 to 1966) even the long faced mrorose lecturers and sisters used to smile and greet me because I always greeted them whenever and wherever I happened to cross their paths.

One typical granny insisted that the dinner plates must be warmed before being handed over to the guests.
It was a simple task no doubt but added to the burden of work of already burdened people.
The clever assistant in the kitchen solved this problem very easily. He made sure that the plate handed over to the granny was warmed.
As for the others they will never know this rule. As for granny she will never know the difference in the treatment extended to the guests!
very clever of him right?
And Who is the frequent teller of this original story???? The Queen of original ideas! :thumb:

I must be the ONLY person who purchases walking shoes one month after starting to walk regularly.
They are of the slip on type and look good and feel good. Hope they will do good to all the joints in the feet.
The moment we protect the knees, the ankles give up. The moment you protect ankles and the knees, the hip joint is sure to give up.
The body weight has to act some where! right?
Wonder how the Knights of the past walked and fought wearing those enormous armors and helmets!

Was it Srikanth? I thought it was Bharat.

BTW where is Bharat these days..after he got married I do not see him in films..may be he has gone back to teaching Ballet.

He is a good ballet dancer.

You are correct as usual.

Acting old and forgetful you see.lol

I saw the film long time back.

Pretty amusing , the perception of tamils about nepalis.

even sikhs, tamils are not comfortable transacting with them.

I remember seeing trisha brings home a sikh husband shocking her parent prakash raj in a tamil film

most tamils are not comfortable with north indians.

My flat tenants in chennai rom north india both boys and girls had a tough time living there .

without knowing tamil it is difficult to survive in chennai.

In our colony attached to the Industry my husband was employed in long ago in A.P. the posh North Indian ladies (wives of the top executives in the company) refused to learn even a single word of Telugu.

But the servant will rise to the occasion and learn to speak Hindi!

I used to wonder what a shame that these ladies do not have the attitude and aptitude those illiterate servant maids seemed to possess!

People laugh at Butler English. But it is like telegraphic language.
Precise and concise (and to the point).

Children do the same thing too. Some children start ruling the household even before they have learned to speak.

The first word they learn to speak is "No!" and
learn to do is shaking the head "na na na na "

WHAT will most of the retired men do if all the soap operas were stopped one fine day. :(

They can't be reading the news paper both in the morning and in the evening!!! Right???

Don't underestimate the "power" of a retired man.

All it takes for them to get "reactivated" is a pill of Sildenafil!LOL

most tamils are not comfortable with north indians.

In India people are communal..they are only comfortable with their own kind.

But many students from here who studied in Chennai say its fun and nice and Tamils are real nice...and these students are Chinese.

So I feel may be its the degree of interaction and the willingness to become friendly. Most Tamilians I feel are nice and simple people.

Some 2 years ago I met a retired Indian airforce personnel in the airport here while waiting for my flight to India...a Jaat gentleman..he was all praises for Tamilians in India and also in Msia.(but that came after he knew I was Tamilian!)

But overall I feel some Indians in India view each other with suspicion..a Northie might not like a Southie and a Southie might not like a Northie.

But when it comes to chasing girls all these North South divide wont be there.

I remember in college engineering guys from North were chasing any girl who looked beautiful..they did not bother if she was a South or North Indian but South guys usually chased only South girls and seldom ventured out of known territory.

Hindi speaking North Indians are not so bad as the Hindi speaking tambram mAmis from the North!

Even if they speak a 'broken' Hindi, they think they are more intelligent than the TN based mAmis!;)
