Think or sink!

Daily Posting had taken three times the usual duration needed... :clock:

driving me nuts and to the very edge of distress!

Yesterday I forgot to set my broken wheat in the cooker

and had to eat uncooked chuduvaa ( avul) instead since

I was angry enough to cook it inside my stomach! :flame:

The beNdi + tomatoes curry got burnt since I forgot to simmer the flame.
The wash tub got filled up while washing the clothes - since I forgot to close the tap.
But for the overflowing arrangement the whole house would have been flooded. :scared:
Small things do matter much have no doubts.
It all started with me being held responsible for exhausting the 5.G.B high speed internet browsing allowed by the so-called-unlimited-internet, with 10 more days of the month to go!
Does the word Unlimited mean 5 G.B by any chance?
Until the moment we opted not to upgrade for the rest of the month, we were getting reminders every minute and then the P.C started to run like the grinding mill of God - slower and slower and slower! :(
Will his browsing through all the major Indian newspapers on P.C consume more volume or
the simple typing and posting of poems and replies by poor old me??? :decision:

When my two little grand children were here they exhausted the 5 G.B in less than 5 days

and were praying for high-speed-uninterrupted-browsing by waving the incense sticks to Gods!

My maid servant reported for duty -despite it being her festival day. The reason she gave was unusual. Her elder daughter will be visiting her next week. So she wants to utilize the holiday during her visit. Small wonder Americans and NRI s shift their birthdays and even festival days to the nearest weekend. No point is spoiling the celebration by cutting it short or wasting the holiday without celebrating.
So all the weekends of my grandchildren are always booked to attend the birthdays of their dear classmates!

One smart lady turned up for work always 5 minutes late.
Her boss was displeased by her being late every single day.
He told her to take the day off and report to duty on time from the next day.
Can you make a wild guess how the smart and clever lady wanted to use her day off???
She asked her boss with utmost sincerity,
"Sir! can I use this day off for coming 5 minutes late to work until it gets exhausted?" :clock:

I had faced the same problem of being 5 minutes late when I was doing my Teachers' training Certificate Course in Carnatic Music during the summer vacation in 1963.
My uncle would drop me in my class 5 minutes late everyday. He would not allow me to travel by bus. And he could not leave the house 5 minutes earlier either.
I was in a real dilemma trying to explains the reason to my teacher! :(

The turtle keeps roaming around - it is a Naadodi - picture so affectionately given by you.

Saw the picture of Visa Papa [ baby Visalakshi ] and your Mom? Were you even born then !!!?!!
- "Achievements" - 17/09/2015 - you can find it there .

Yay Yem

You should've just set his watch 5 minutes ahead - simple !

I uploaded your pic on 17/09/2015 - "Achievements" - no feedback ???

Capt VT

Dear Capt V.T !
:welcome: back to the forum and this thread! :)
I bet I must have beamed and shone visibly when I saw your name in this thread.
( One of my friends used to visibly glow - every time he saw me anywhere!)
So you finally decided to think and NOT sink as was your custom - being a Visiting Turtle! Right?
I would not even dare to touch a jasmine flower in my uncle's garden.
How could I have even thought about re-setting all the clocks in his house?
He had a biological clock running inside him - as precise as an atomic clock.
He was both a military man and a doctor...extra strict and extra-extra punctual!!
Somehow I survived that 6 weeks long course and my stay at his house!

Now coming to your post

I uploaded your pic on 17/09/2015 - "Achievements" - no feedback ???

I need footnotes to know what you are talking about!
I have become a full fledged robot after I included the early morning walk
and the chanting of slokas in my already tight daily schedule.
I type, I post, I cook, I eat, I work, I sleep and I have become a human robot!

Hmmmm. The turtle is still kicking in our dear forum!! :D

Good idea; but will NOT work with our uncle because he had a wall clock in every room of his house!!

Dear Raji,
The turtle has been swimming under water till today! :)
None of us knew he was right there - reading the posts unseen.
That makes me wonder how many of our ex-friends have chosen to remain invisible !!!

If Visa was a paapaa in her mother's arms, then Tmt. Raji Ram was yet to be born since the age difference between us is 5 years and also there is another sibling in between us!!!
Naadodi is one who roams on land through different countries (naadugal).
So V.T can only be a kadalodi - if at all! :)

dear Mr. A.M aka as Capt V.T!
You are one of the very few people in the forum who have real refined humor in all their posts - both natural and sparkling.
So do not deny the forum of what little mirth and joy you can deliver - without worrying about anything else!
If I happen to read about what all had been written by me by some kind-hearted souls I may never touch my P.C again. I do not read them.
So it gives them a vent to let out their steam and it does not affect me - since I do not read them nor wish to! See how that makes everybody happy! :)
After all we remain what we are - despite the image another person may project or spread or gossip.

Firstly, I didn't "GO" anywhere to be welcomed back. I was just looking the "other way".

Turtles never "SINK" they roam around a lot [ over land and water ] and peep in into this lake
once-in-a-while just to make sure that the original inhabitants are doing fine. Turtles have a way of
ignoring certain personalities and opinions that are not in agreement with their own. They never get into
arguments / disputes / show-downs - they just look the other way [ sometimes with a tongue-in-the-cheek ]
and hold no grudges / grouses - just move on. Most importantly, turtles don't have an ego.

You are a very funny person - your Military Uncle Doctor was so terribly [ extra extra ] punctual that he was
consistently late by 5 minutes.

Ok, just in case you didn't the Visa Papa picture, I attach it again. I get it now, Thangai papa was not
born then - see how turtles 'capture' moments in a human's life - that's how long we live !

Visa Papa Maa, Cho Chuwweeeet Ma ! VR 1-003.webpVR zee 1.webp

Dear Mr. A.M,
Some people can see both in their front and their back - thanks to the fourth eye at the nape of the neck. The third eye is in between the eye brows right? You must be one of them sir! :)

My military doctor uncle was really very punctual. Only I happened to be the first in the list from the wrong end when it came to priorities :(

My doctor aunt had to report to duty at 8 sharp. My classes also started at 8 sharp. So who do you think will be given the priority ... the busy doctor wife or a 16 year old girl with a big head and bigger eyes???

I must have looked like a matchstick in those days!

So you have made the print of the photo correctly and
also made it appear like double act! :clap2:

Very true! Visa paapaa's maa is really very sweet. She was very sweet right to the very end. She was sweetest when she was really gone for ever

Life it too short to hold grudges and remember the unpleasant and ugly things, words and deeds. Mind is too full to hold grudges and hatred to anyone whosoever.

You have not thrown light on What and where is the Achievement and how I and my pretty mom figure in it!

Family reunions are fun filled unless the occasion is a sad one.
One should never miss an opportunity to mingle with one's kith and kin.
YET how many people realize the value of such a get together???
They would rather read newspapers and watch TV as usual! :(

The first few days/hours are the busiest as we all catch up with all the latest happenings.

Thereafter the thrill subsides and flows like a steady stream instead of the great tidal wave it was.

After 2 or 3 days all people will settle down in their daily normal routine - wherever they may be!

Whenever people died in large numbers -whatever may be the cause - I used to blow a fuse when my grandfather would talk about "Boo Bhaaram" and how God takes various steps to reduce it.

I used to ask him" Who decides who are the unwanted people who should be terminated?". Not because I lacked bhakti but because I was in my early teens and was prone to asking questions.

Now I realize that each and everything we think, say and do is predetermined by God. He sure knows what He does and Why He does it! Who are we to doubt His intentions and actions?

It is said that people who die in holy places are blessed - even if they die in stampedes. I think that it the only way people can console themselves to the vary painful death inflicted on their loved ones in a stampede! :(

The Swamiji with a majestic voice and deep knowledge in Carnatic music in addition to Vedaanta has left this mortal world. I am sure happy with the numerous occasions I had listened to his captivating messages filled with humor and highest philosophy.

I wish my health would have permitted me to attend more such programs. But I know that all his lectures have been video-graphed. Now to try to get them and watch him even if he exists no more as a physical person. :hail:

When I visited the Arsha Vidya Gurukulam in Anaikkattai with my mother she became so emotional when she paid her respects to him. She had tears in her eyes and her face had turned crimson.

I am sure my mother was older than swamiji. He too felt touched by her devotion and instructed his disciples to accompany us and make sure that my mother reached her vehicle safely - since the whole place was overcrowded on that Sunday!

I was present in the meeting on the day when The All Indian Movement For Seva was launched.
I am donor since 2000 ( may be like the little squirrel which helped Rama in building the sethu)
and when I received an unexpected windfall I just redirected to swamiji's AIM for seva.
There had been different views on whether what I DID WAS RIGHT OR WRONG
but to this day I have never doubted that what I did was what I should have done then! :)
