Wisdom and experience

Wisdom is gained by experiences – personal or other people’s.

So we can’t LIVE for a long time without absorbing something from what

happens around us. I think people are confusing Intelligence with wisdom.

Youngster are more intelligent but elders are truly wiser and nicer!

Dear Raji,
The purupuruppu is due to the gaping generation gap.
The elders fond some of the things youngsters do NOT very acceptable.
At the same time they are NOT able to change the youngsters.
Their vexation expresses itself as the purupuruppu.
But think of it in this way. But for the puruuruppu the youngsters
will jump ahead in leaps and bounds and get out of control completely! :llama:

தருபவர்க்கு உண்டு பொற்காசுகளின்
அருமையான பரிசுக் கிழி ஒன்று’.

மாதக் கெடு முடியுமுன் வந்தான்,
மன்னன் கேட்டபடியே ஓர் இளைஞன்;
சாம்பற் கயிற்றினை அழகியதொரு
தாம்பாளத்தில் வைத்து எடுத்தபடி!

ஆயிரம் பொற்காசுகளை அளித்தபின்,
தூய அமைச்சர் கேட்டார் அவனிடம்,
“யார் சொல்லித் தந்தார் இதனை?
கூறு உண்மையினை அச்சமின்றி!”

“எழுபது வயது நிரம்பிவிட்ட என்
ஏழைத் தநதையின் எண்ணமே இது;
‘சாம்பல் கயிற்றைச் செய்ய முடியாது;
கயிற்றைச் சாம்பலாக்கி விடு’ என்றார்!

தாம்பாளத்தில் கயிற்றைப் பொசுக்கி,
தங்களிடம் எடுத்து வந்தேன் நான்”
“நாடு கடத்தப்படவேண்டுமா அரசே?
நல்லறிவு உடைய முதியவர்கள்?

எந்த இளைஞனுக்கும், பெண்ணுக்கும்,
இந்தக் கூர்மையான அறிவு இல்லையே!
அறிவு இருப்பவர்களையும் தாங்கள்
பூமிக்கு பாரம் எனக் கருதலாமா?”

அரசன் இது கேட்டு நாணமுற்றான்!
அரசு ஆணையை ரத்து செய்தான்.
அனைவரும் முன்போலவே மிகவும்
ஆனந்தமாக வாழத் துவங்கினர்.

வாழ்க வளமுடன்,
விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

THE ROPE MADE OF ASH!

A king felt that all the senior citizens were of no use and should be banished. He wanted all his citizens to be young, energetic and active. One wise minister argued with the king that it was a wrong decision, but the king had made up his mind already.

So the minister begged for one month’s time. He announced a strange contest! Anybody who could bring a rope made of ashes would be awarded 100 gold coins. A young man brought an ash rope on a plate and won the prize of 100 gold coins.

The minister asked the man to tell the truth about the ash-rope.
The man said it was the idea of his 70 year old father. He had said,” Since we cannot make a rope out of ash, we will make ash out of a rope”. So a rope was burnt on plate to produce the rope of ash.

The minister turned to the king and said, “MaharAj! None of the young, active and agile minds could find a solution to the problem of the ash-rope. It took the wisdom of an old mind to figure it out! Do you still consider that senior citizens are an unnecessary burden on your kingdom?”

The king realized his folly and cancelled the royal decree banishing all elders from his country. The people in the country lived happily as before.

I met a slim tall Agmark African in the eye clinic yesterday.
He was wearing a brown cotton kurta over a pair of jeans.
I guess he has married an Indian girl and has a young child.
His mom with the traditional printed turban was stealing nap.
Tamil - even when spoken by an African - sounded very sweet!
The reverse of the Tamilian who is running a bore well digging company in Africa!
Of course I did not get to hear the Tamilian speak any African dialect!

ALL the Indians have this raae ability of converting into hot cash the following:

1. the person's urgency. (a Lawyer fleeced Rs. 1000 extra in this manner !)

2. the emergency situation ( auto drivers are super specialists in this reg)

3. inadequate supply which does NOT meet the demand (the shopkeeper has this gift by birth)

4. Physical disabilities of the clients (everybody indulges in this trait)

5. Ignorance of the other people (the evil genius does this)

6. innocence of the other people ( the cunning people do this)

So TIME IS MONEY is not the only concept nor is it only for the busy people.

In fact everything CAN be made into money with the right know-how!

The Lunatic Lunar lip lock!

According to the ancient Chinese historians, one of the Chinese poets Li Po (705 to 762 A.D) died due his twin passions in life- the wine and love !

He was drunk to his eyebrows and tried to kiss the reflection of the full moon, while traveling in a boat! He fell out of the boat and died in a vain attempt of a lunatic’s lunar lip-lock!

Thinking is a process.

Wisdom is the destination you reach after thinking!

Do you know why people 'get lost in thoughts'?

Thinking process is an unfamiliar terrain and so they get lost!

We are confusing the path and the home when we mix up thinking and wisdom!!

Reflexes is purely physical. Wisdom is purely of the mind.

We get the wisdom teeth ONLY after we are old enough to become wise.

If some people behave like inert gases and absorb

NOTHING from around them, they are made that way.

But thankfully they are also as rare as the inert gases themselves!

I guess God does listen to everything after all!LOL

Today it was really funny cos I was thinking I havent made a donation of any form for this whole year as far as I can remember.

Then as I was walking to a near by shop I got mistaken for a Muslim and young 20 something Malay man approached me asking for donation for a Mosque.

He was saying that "Eid Ul Adha is near and we Muslim bros and sisters need to help each other to donate for a mosque"

Well...he had assumed I was a Muslim...then I was thinking...If I tell him I am a Hindu I would not know if he would accept my donation or not or it might put him in an awkward position too...and this also seemed like an opportunity for me to make a donation since I was just thinking of doing a donation this year.

Then it being Vinayaka Chaturthi too I was thinking its a good day for a donation..so I donated for the mosque.

Part of me was confused too...that he took the donation thinking I was a Muslim and I kept silent and never told him I was not a Muslim.

Usually out here Non Muslims are not approached for donations like this.

But yet part of me was saying...just give..no need for him to know you are a Hindu and as long money goes for a good cause there should not be a problem.


So I guess God gave me a very strange situation to donate on Vinayaka Chaturthi.


I am quite sure if I tell this to my parents they would say 'You roam around without Pottu..why wont anyone mistake you for a Muslim!LOL"

Balancing beautifully!

While trying to find a suitable girl for my younger son I was surprised to find that all the very pretty girls had horrorscopes in place of their horoscopes.

The not so pretty, simple, plain and ordinary looking girls had good horoscopes.

Is it God’s way of balancing things and equalizing their opportunities???

If the girl is both beautiful and had a beautiful horoscope no one will refuse to marry her.

But what about the girls who are neither very pretty nor have a good horoscopes! Who will ever marry them???

Why are animals were worshiped?

They are not interested in any other species
