Think or sink!

There was an elderly lady who wished me Happy New Year with the most pleasant smile.

That is the advantage of making eye contacts with a smiling countenance.

The boy in the Best Buy admired my salwar (teal colored with a thin Jari border).

He said any one will willingly pay 20$ for that.

May be stitching Indian salwar suits from Indian fabric will be a lucrative business.

But whether I will really do it is very doubtful.

I have stitched for myself and my close family and no outsiders till now!

Also if everybody appears in salwar suits, then the uniqueness of my dress will be lost! Right??? :)

I am not behaving like some of the perverted N.R.Is always finding fault with India everything Indian.

Surely expecting a golden-shake-hand under the desk/table to do the job one gets paid
for doing,

is unacceptable by any standard in any country and at any time, by anyone!

Fun with a Gun?

He loved to eat a bun,

He wanted to have fun;

He must have been a Hun,

Wielding a gun was his fun;

His lover became a nun,

He was always on the run,

He avoided the daylight Sun,

His life reduced to a mere pun.

During the Christmas sale an American lady expressed her 'universal love'

for the non Americans by telling a few ladies to "go back where they came from!"

Apparently everyone living in USA MUST speak ONLY in English!

What will happen the Native Americans who were original dwellers in USA

say these same words to all the other immigrants of different color, heights, shapes, sizes
and speaking different languages - who had come into USA at different periods??? :moony:

Two Hispanic women were the targets of this torrent of hateful words.

But Hispanic women appear to behave no better the conceited fair skinned people!

Another Hispanic woman slashed an African American transgender who offered her a seat in the train.

The poor thing needed 100 stitches to put together the slashed areas in the face and other parts of the

body! Those who are hated MUST realize the pain inflicted by the senseless hatred and

REFRAIN from inflicting the same pain on the other less fortunate creatures!

All men have red blood and white bones. No one has blue blood and green bones!!! :moony:

A man and a mare.

A hole is owned by a hare,

A sturdy shed by a mare;

He could never less care,

That his house was threadbare;

No one would, to come near, dare,

He could ill afford to pay any fare;

People like him are very rare;

Better still, of them, to beware!

GREETING A PERSON WITH ONE'S FIST RAISED IS UNUSUAL NO DOUBT!

But I have seen persons who even embrace another with a clenched fist.

Are they so tight and taut that they can't let their fingers loose?

Are they so much opposed to the views of the other person that

the body language showed the resitance/ opposition?

Is it because they want to hold on tight to the person for the fear of losing them???

I am not able to figure it out. I wonder whether they themselves know the real reason!!!

Grey hair is stylish- more so when the face is young and chubby!
(A very wise head on very young shoulders???) :noidea:

But when the stubble in the chin is whilte it looks gross -
even if (actually more so if) the hair on the head is black!

Who likes to see the Day and the Night on the same face?

Day and Night can be on a planet but on opposite sides

and not on the opposite ends of the same side! :rolleyes:

I was stunned to see an employee in the bank in full make up with
red lips, blush, moon-white painted-complexion and a cluster of tendrils framing her face.

Small wonder the women here need Botox and other fillers for the burrows furrowed
on the face by NOT letting it breath for the major part of the day for the major part of their lives !

The no make up look creates ripples - as if it is something extraordinary an alien concept to these people.

The Indian women have managed to look human and pretty enough without these fillers,
artificial eyelashes, red lips, rouge, and daily shaving of the arms and legs!

Don't these people know that daily shaving actually promotes the growth of hair???

Peerage and average.

His talents were just average,
It did not the parents enrage;

What did his future have in storage?
Will he, for food, have to forage?

Will he have to work in a garage,
To buy his daily food and beverage?

But he found someone to encourage,
The someone who infused courage;

Gave him the much needed leverage
And gave a worldwide coverage;

His efforts stirred up a rage
And landed him in a peerage.

Having too many choices is
as bad as having no choice at all!

Variety is the spice of life no doubt.

But it should not go over board and
make it difficult to do what we want to do.

The little toddler chooses the car
to be used on any particular day.

The shoes have to match the car.
Their dresses have to match very well.

And the other things such as coat/ jacket/
mitten/ socks/ School bag/water bottle /
lunch tote all have to match one another.

See how we are complicating our own life???

Eating out frequently has it drawbacks.

Children order whatever they want to eat
and it appears in a reasonable time on the table.

So they start doing the same thing at home.

Each one wants to eat a different dish and
expect their parents ( are they magicians?)
to make them appear on the table in a jiffy!!!

I need NOT miss the New Year Pooja and Homam after all ! :)
The Navagraha homam will be performed in the local temple
on 1st January 2017, Sunday between 10-30 A.M and 12 noon.
In all probability I will get to attend it!

“Oust the Out!”

Life is a game from which you can’t back-out.

Life is a plane from which you can’t bail-out.

Life is a disease which has to break-out,

Life is a school from which you can’t drop-out,

Life is a party from which you can’t freak-out;

Life is a mansion in which you can’t hide-out;

Life is a champion you can never knock-out,

Life is a battle field you have to be on the look-out,

Life is a stadium where you have to stand-out,

Life is a gathering from which you can’t walk-out,

Life is a painter which decides whom to wash-out,

Life is a storm which determines whom to wipe-out.

Life with its ups and downs may make you feel worn-out!
Life can be duly dealt with... if you never miss a work-out!

The poser miser.

He was a terrible miser,
He was a terrific poser;

He was indeed a loser,
But he posed to prosper!

He appeared to be denser,
Inside he was much coarser:

Of good fortune, he was a chaser,
And an incorrigible trespasser;

Had he been really any wiser,
He would be a good dresser;

And pass for an organizer,
Or at least great composer;

He could have used an adviser,
And also a good advertiser.

When we repay late we add an interest on the principal!

So here are two greetings The Principal due + Interest for the delay! :party:

HAVE A WONDERFUL, PEACEFUL & SUCCESSFUL 2017!!!

The Nava Graha Homam in the local temple was a very peaceful and pleasant experience - despite the cold and the drizzling rain.

There were both Indians and non Indians in the crowd, since it is a Hare Krishna Temple.

The young pujari from Nepal looked like a cute Krishna without a flute.
He had cute features (minus the famous Cha-Pa-Moo aka chappa mookku)

The turban he wore suited him very well though it was not rich nor had any brocade or sari.

It was more like what real cowherd would have worn casually before venturing out in the Sun and rain.

Four people performed the yajna and we all participated by throwing in the Agni some homa samaagri distributed by the volunteers.

We received the homa raksha, the red and yellow colored thread rakish small packets with sugar coated cashew nuts, sliced almonds , raisins, dates and a long yellow plantain each.

Nice way to start the new year though away from India.

I wishes to sing my favorite song Radha Krishna in Behag composed by my grandfather. But soon after the puja , people already started buzzing and moving around. Well there is always a next time.

The Bala yogini from Boston - dressed in full sleeved blouse along with a white pajama and a lahagna over that and a half sari topping on the other clothes , all in pure white.

She gave me her best smile, and a rose with a long stalk and thanked mr for attending the puja.

I thought to myself,"Krumbu thinnak kooliyaa???"

The most memorable man in the group was an American with kudumi and a very vibrant voice.
His Hare Krishna Hare Rama song with 'zha' replacing 'r 'still rings in my ears. t

They are already looking forward to Maha Shivraatri - next major festival.

I am happy the Hare Krishna temple celebrates Shiv Ratri - without splitting hairs and trying to find out who is superior... Rama or Ramanaatha??? :decision:

The element of surprise helps to cause a lot of damage.

It is like pocking a person's eyes with his own fingers!

The same technique was employed in the destruction of The Twin Tower.

Radar will scrutinize and check on any object which is not our very own!

An Ambush uses the element of surprise.

Gorilla warfare uses the surprise element.

Now the Santa turning a murderer belongs to the same category.

Surprise element is employed in every possible way to cause havoc and the maximum damage! :(

When asked what caused the accident the driver
who had survived the crash said in a serious tone,

"He zigged when I though he would zag!"

Accidents happen one of the person zigs instead of zagging!
Again the element of surprise the culprit! :(

The combination suggests the two opposing possibilities.

A house.

The place is the real cause
Of many an inhuman abuse;

Of harshest words that accuse,
And of people who tend to misuse.

It does one’s interest, arouse,
It can amuse and also confuse,

It is the palace of liberal excuse,
Which the people can’t refuse.

It is the place the people pause
Or refuse to leave just because,

It is where they can deeply muse
Or if so inclined let thoughts fuse.

It is where love is let to diffuse,
It is where seriousness can defuse,

It is where affection spreads profuse;
It is where each other tend to enthuse.

Some of the Indian women who came to the temple were dressed in American style and were also American sized!

The petite ones appeared in Salwar suits and Anarkali dresses. They all had their bobbed hair well shampooed and the fringe arranged neatly on the forehead. Lipstick is a must to belong to the nation they have chosen to live in!

The children were near brutes with neither manners nor good behavior. It was obvious the they have been dragged along to the temple by force and not personal choice.

The teen aged girls had to be demonstrated how to hold the flowers to be offered and in WHICH hand!!!

While all the non Indians - both men and women - made eye contacts and greeted saying " Happy New Year!" the Indians both males and females avoided eye contact and of course the greetings also.

You can't greet a person whom you do not want to look at! Right???

Probably they were taught NEVER to make eye contact or bond with strangers - even if they were from the same India!
