One man A came to another man B and told him,

"I bet you won't remove your shirt, even if I give you one hundred rupees"

"Oh! What a wind fall!" thought B and promptly removed his shirt.

A lost his bet and handed over to B a one hundred rupee note.

Just then B saw A go to another man C and collect 500 rupees from him.

A had bet to C Rs 500 saying that he can make B remove his shirt within 5 minutes' time!

Everyone has a price tag on him just like everything else we see!!

பின்பு முப்பதில் கல்யாணம்.
இன்று நாற்பதில் கல்யாணம்.
எப்போது அறுபதில் கல்யணம்?
(அறுபதாங்கல்யாணம் அல்ல!!!)
 
Aging may reduce the speed of body reflexes but
certainly it improves the wisdom of the person.

Aging improves the quality and value of wine.

Aging improves the quality of the Idli / dosa dough by
proper fermentation.

Aging imparts sweetness to the sour mango and other fruits.

Aging makes a person mellow and kind hearted.

Aging may have negative effects on the physical body
but definitely it improves the wisdom of the person.

Why do people try in vain to reverse the effects of aging?
 
மாவிலைத் தோரணம் கட்டுவது ஏன்?

மாவிலை ஒரு கிருமி நாசினி. துர் தேவதைகள் வீட்டில் நுழையாமல் தடுக்கும் சக்தி மாவிலைக்கு உண்டு.

கண்ணுக்கு குளிர்ச்சியாகவும் இருந்து இடத்தையும் தூய்மைப் படுத்தும் மாவிலைகள். மேலும் இவை என்றுமே அழுகிவிடா. அப்படியே காய்ந்து சருகாய் விடும்.

மனித வாழ்வும் இதுபோலக் கெட்டுப் போகாமல் நீண்ட காலம் நடை பெற வேண்டும் என்ற நல்ல எண்ணத்தோடும், நம்பிக்கையோடும், மங்களம் பொங்கும் மாவிலைத் தோரணம் கட்டுகின்றோம்.

ஆனால் இப்போதோ....அதுவும் பிளாஸ்டிக்கில் வந்து விட்டது!
 
While trying to find a suitable girl for my younger son I was surprised to find that all the very pretty girls had horror-scopes in place of horoscopes.

The not so pretty ordinary girls had good horoscopes.

Is it God's way of balancing things and equalizing their opportunities?

If the girl was both beautiful and had a beautiful horoscope
no one will refuse to marry her.

But what about the girls who were neither very pretty nor had decent horoscopes!

Who will ever marry them???

போதிய வேலை இல்லாமல் இருப்பது!

ஒருவர் கூறினார் மற்றவரிடம்.

சண்டை போட மாட்டேன்!"

"கல்லுக்குள் ஈரமா?
இரும்புக்குள் பாசமா?"
அதிசயித்தார் மற்றவர்

அடுத்த வாக்கியம்
காதில் விழும் வரை...

"நாளை மறுநாள் வரை
காத்திருக்க முடியாது.

நாளைய சண்டையை
இப்போதே போடுவோம்!"

இன்று வெளியே வர முகம் இல்லாமல்
இல்லத்தில் முடங்கிக் கிடப்பது!

The servant working in my friend's house is always threatening to quit. Whenever they try to bring a new servant, the woman never comes to work for more than one day.

Apparently the old servant is threatening the new servant so that she discontinues immediately.

On the one hand she says she wants to stop working for them. On the other hand she makes sure that she will have to continue!

puzzling behavior isn't it???

The secret beneath the puzzle....to hike her salary since the couple are both sick and depend on their domestic help.

முகத்தில் அடித்தது போலச் சொன்னார்

சாஸ்திரம் என்ன ஒன் வே டிராஃபிக்கா?

இவர்களுக்கு இல்லாத சாஸ்திரம்
அவர்களுக்கு மட்டும் எங்கிருந்து வந்தது???
 
மணமகளைத் தேர்வு செய்யும் போது
மாமியார் கவனிக்கவேண்டியவை இவை!

1. குடும்பத்துக்கு ஏற்ற அழகு.

2. இனிய மொழி பேசும் இயல்பு.

5 . நோய் நொடிகள் இல்லாத பரம்பரை(!)

என்று பெயர் இட்டு மிதிக்காமல், மதிக்கும் பாங்கு.

7. இன்முகத்துடன் விருந்தினர்களை உபசரிக்கும் தன்மை.

8. கணவன் வார்தைகளிக் கேட்டு நடக்கும் பண்பு.

ஒரு பெண்ணாவது இதில் தேறுவாளா

இந்த இருபத்து ஒன்றாம் நூற்றாண்டில்....?
 
I saw a hi-tech ladies saloon ad today!

It was hi-tech for more than one reason! :rolleyes:

1. The hair of the model was straightened like thin metal wires.

2. The hair was cut like the pants of a poor postman ripped off by a mad dog.

3. The girl had one of her eyes completely covered.

Has not God given two eyes so that we can judge
the distance of an object correctly?

But since these characters ARE the objects,
they do NOT need to judge any distances accurately!

So much for spending money and looking like something
the cat had brought in during the night!

அப்பா அடிக்கடி சொல்லுவார்,
"வீட்டில் யாருக்காவது புலி வேஷம் போட்டு வைக்க வேண்டும்."

எல்லோருமே soft ஆகவும், ஸ்வீட் ஆகவும் இருந்தால்
பல சிக்கல்களில் மாட்டிக் கொள்வோம்.

"முக மாட்டம்" என்பார்கள் தெலுங்கில்.
"தாட்சண்யம் பார்ப்பது" என்பார்கள் தமிழில்.

பல சமயங்களில் இக்கட்டில் இருந்து தப்பிக்க ஒரே வழி,
வீட்டில் அந்த நபருடன் அதிகம் பழக்கம் இல்லாத ஒருவருக்குப்
புலி வேஷம் போட்டு வைப்பது தான்! :rolleyes:

" ஐயோ அவருக்குப் பிடிக்கவே பிடிக்காது!"
"அவருக்குக் கண் மண் தெரியாமல் கோபம் வரும்!"
" அவருக்குப் பதில் சொல்ல என்னால் முடியாது"
இத்யாதி வசனங்கள் உதவும்!!!

கணவர் மனைவிக்குப் புலி வேஷம் போட்டால்
"அவருக்கு" பதில் "அவளுக்கு" என்றால் போதும்.

ஆபரேஷனுக்கு ஓ. கே சொல்லும் அளவுக்குச் சென்று
பின் மீண்டு வந்துள்ள என்னிடம் அவளுக்கு mixed feelings

நாங்கள் அமெரிக்கா சேர்ந்த பிறகே அவளுக்கு இங்கு ஆபேரஷன்.
என்ன செய்வது என்றே தெரியவில்லை!

A lousy lazy loose was giving me permission to sing in my house - as if I needed it!

Life is not beautiful just with how you look and think

Well here are some passing thoughts as I read your poetry.

1. Beauty may be the reason behind the suicide /murder!
We know how the beautiful people are manipulated and exploited by the powerful people.

Also the beautiful people try to manipulate and exploit the powerful people.
In this tug of war many things can happen, many things can go wrong and very often the only safe outlet might be to silence the exploiter permanently.

2. Name and Fame more often than not boosts the ego to such an extent the
person becomes less sensitive to the feelings of the others and end up hurting them.

3. Each of us see the world through our own eyes and interpret it in our own way.
The blue of the sky may make a person feel gloomy while it might remind another person of lord Krishna and make him go into ecstasy.

A person finds it easiest to love himself and hardest to love another unconnected with him in any way.

Practice makes perfect. This is true of all arts.
But happiness and joy are best when they are spontaneous.

Nature's beauty is fast vanishing. Of what little is left, man has little to
stand and stare at it.

But if each one gives out his best, there is still hope for the world.
Let us keep the hope alive and ever-growing in size.

I can add a few more lines to Mr.Ravi's poetry....

"What is the use of winning laurels....
when there is no one to admire it on you?

What is the use of winning a name and fame...
when there is no one around to tell it to?

What is the use of living with persons ...
who will never ever really understand you?

What is the use of understanding ....
when they are unwilling to share your joy?"

You have expanded my short poem into the true message that it carries, exactly the same that I had in my mind and produced it in a form of short poem

I could not believe this!!

My poem had double message for both types of people with positive perspectives/attitude and negative perspectives/attitude.

Yes, the poem was subsequent to your post with an image of a young beauty and the same pained oldie..
