how did you know this? is there some study done and the above is the result of that study? is there an equivalent about tamil brahmins? there should be one, right?

First of all, my apologies if this has hurt your sensibilities. However, there are jokes about all kinds of ethnic groups (Sardarjis, the Irish, Keralites, etc.) and these are all taken in good spirit. These jokes were actually sent me by a good Punjabi friend- I just love the way they have a sense of humour and can laugh at themselves. Of course there is no "study" - it's just an extreme take. I've been forwarded innumerable jokes about Keralites, the Irish and Scottish, and a few on Tamilians too. I saw Sardar jokes put up in the jokes section so didn't think it inappropriate to put Punjabi jokes.
A joke is a joke and has to be taken in the right spirit. Please don't take it too seriously.
 
When I was in college I remember a few of the engineering college Punjabi guys were celebrating happily with bikes and going round and round the college cos exam results were out..shouting with joy!

So I thought they must have scored distinctions and were happy.

Then I found out that most of them had scored second class with just a few marks near the fail mark.

Then one of them told me "I passed in 2nd class almost failed by 1 mark and I am happy..Tamil guy is crying in room cos he missed gold medal by 1 mark"

I think when he meant Tamil guy he must have been referring to a TB!LOL

So you see Punjabis are very positive minded.

:pAs a part punju I am quite sure that this list is generated by one of my own. Though ethnic humour is not very PC but from my side I would say :rofl:and :bounce:.

Spoken like a true-blue Punjoo!
Even though I am not a Punjabi, I mainly grew up in Delhi and my best friends are all Punjabis. And one of their best qualities is their sense of humour!
So I end with a bhalle bhalle!:-). And yes, I agree- any time there's a chance to dance, we should!
