Surrogate mothers can be donors, can't they or are they prohibited?
Commissioning couple get to know the surrogate mother (at least in tamil tv serials); since the sperm/ egg donor's identity is kept secret, anything is possible.
At least, in our old society, there was no secrecy.
As far as I know...No.
Cos donor has to be anonymous and even in cases of regular surrogates some do not want to give up the baby after the delivery(even though biologically it is not theirs).
If the surrogate is the donor than surely she can fight for rights to keep the child hence not advised.
Once I read a case about some woman in a western country who decided to be the surrogate to her daughters and son in laws child.
So she became the 1st grandmother to give birth to her own grandchild.
