Does stupidity have party affiliations, or does it have exclusivity. I have seen stupid comments made by BJP, RSS, JD, AAM, Congress and others. Similarly it is nor exclusive to Hindus, I have seen stupid comment made by Muslims, Christians, Sikhs and others. Where ever we see stupidity we must correct it.

I left out the religious leaders.

Amid the campaign for gender equality, the Trimbakeshwar Devasthan Trust in Maharashtra has decided to allow women into the famous Lord Shiva temple's sanctum sanctorum for an hour everyday, but with a rider that they must wear wet cotton or silk clothes while offering prayers in the core area. However, the women activists have refused to abide by the condition and have lodged a complaint with police against the trust members and local people for purposely obstructing their entry into the temple.
The trust took the decision at a meeting on Wednesday to allow women into the temple's 'garbha griha' sanctum sanctorum from Thursday from 6 to 7 am and with the conditions attached to it, Lalita Shinde, one of the temple trustees, said.

Why can we not learn from Birla Temples. No one is allowed inside the sanctum except the priests. No one is barred from the outer hall.
I visit them all the time.

A famous temple does not allow females with dress separating their legs!

(They need to wear a 'mundu' over their churidar / pyjama!)

And ........... another allows females ONLY with wet cloths. ;)

In yet another significant victory for women and progressive activists seeking entry to temples, a group of women on Thursday entered the sanctum sanctorum of Nashik’s Trimbakeshwar temple and offered prayers.

This is a major departure from the tradition for the Shiva temple. The extraordinary feature of the Jyotirlinga located here is its three faces embodying Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Rudra. For close to 300 years, women were not allowed inside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.

On Thursday morning, a group of women led by Vanita Gatte of Swarajya Mahila Sangathana, stepped into the sanctum sanctorum of the Trimbakeshwar temple and offered prayers. Two other women, Mayuri Deshmane and Hema Jha, accompanied her to the sanctum. The three women offered prayers together at 0605 hrs. There was altercation between the group and the locals on Wednesday morning, prompting Trimbak police to register a case.

"This is the victory of our Constitution which gives equal rights to men and women at religious places. We fought a long battle for getting entry inside the sanctum....it’s a victory for all women," Gatte said.

I don't see the point of these women activists. If they are some temples prohibited for them, why poke only those places? There are thousands of temples and some of these fools want to go the temple where their entry is restricted. Next they will claim that men should have children ? why the inequality?
