Dear Swami,

I am in full agreement with you in this analysis. If, theoretically speaking (I personally would never ever like such a scenario) the brahmins had practically wiped out the rest of the population in Bharatakhanda and had become the ruling and numerical majority here, perhaps brahmins would also have said magnanimously (!) let bygones be bygones, we are sorry, now let us look to the future, I think.

Sir,

Perhaps, inadvetently you are bringing the race issue back here. You can accuse brahmins of keeping others in subjection with some amount of justification, but certainly -- not even Dravida Kazhagam, heart of hearts, have ever made a charge on brahmins trying to be a genocidal crowd.

Rgds.

Dear Shri Swami,

My remarks were in the attempt to say what sort of a hypothetical scenarion in our country will be similar to that in the Americas or Australia. It is farthest from my mind to even suggest obliquely any racist ideology. I firmly believe all Indians are an "avial" of genes of various sorts and so genetically all of us are equal, except perhaps the few isolated and in-breeding tribes still to be found in some parts. So, there is no question of race here, only an imaginary comparison to drive home the difference.

I belong to a very orthodox Tamil Brahmin family, my father (May his soul rest in peace!) having lived a long life as an honest and truly committed Purohithar, uncorrupted by certain unworthy and unapprovable practices of some present day Vaadhyars brought to light in some other threads by some members, my son is going to marry a girl from a Maharashtrian brahmin family, because they like each other and I have giving my full consent. But still there is an element of uneasiness very much looming over our heads because my wife is obstinately opposed to the alliance and has vowed NOT to take part in the Wedding, which, is being planned to be conducted like any typical Tamil brahmin marriage, except for the absence of the bridegroom's mother. In view of her serious 'threat and warning' given to me, I have got the invitation printed in a typical tamil brahmin marriage style, with a few modifications.

Sir,

Sorry for belated response to your post, I just saw this.

Your wife should consider herself LUCKY that she is to get a brahmin as her DIL. Modern day Maharashtrian girls may wear modern attires and even may have a fancy hair cut, which you may have to put up with.
I can tell from my personal experience that the attitude of Maharashtrian brahmins are similar in many respects to ours -- being thrifty, generally unostentatious etc.
When we were looking out for a match for my sister (in the mid-90s), my father was prepared to accept any vegetarian brahmin, in particular from the Maharashtrian Brahmin community. Destiny planned that she got married to a TB.
With your son about to marry a brahmin you have some assurance that at least the major pitr karmas won't be derailed -- I am sure Sri Sangom will agree with me.

So on my behalf, kindly ask Mrs. CLN to give her wholehearted blessings to the couple and be a sagacious mother-in-law.

With regards,
Swami

Best wishes to Sri. CLN and his family on the occasion of his son's marriage. I hope and pray that Smt. CLN will be able to reconcile herself and come and attend the marriage and bless the couple. Her daughter-in-law also is her daughter!

It is more appropriate to ask the originator of the கூத்தாடி statement, that is Shri Brahmanyan to explain his post on what he meant by that post; and who he meant by கூத்தாடி and வீட்டையே ரெண்டாக்கிடுவன் .

So Shri Brahmanyan for a change it may be a good idea to 'dare to be bold' and explain your post # 45 please: வெட்டிப்பேச்சு Shri Brahmanyan you introduce yourself in blogs as someone who beleives in: "Love towards every living thing in the border-less world" - really sir, do you?

i agree using the term COWARD based on the context raised could lead to a condemnation form moderator. I fully agree with your stand.

i would request you to have a look in to this post also.

Dare to be bold , also implies similar meaning of oh, coward, be brave.

secondly, look at the comments passed on to the Senior Person Sh.Brahmanyan, mocking his vision 'Love toward everything;.

hope we are aware, he hasnt posted actively after this.

Shri KRS Ji,

This is ShivKC at his usual best in twistings things with his own interpretation.

Shri Brahmanyan continued to be active on other threads but refrained from offering any explanation to post 69 when he did his name-calling வெட்டிப்பேச்சு .

I meant no offence in saying "for a change it may be a good idea to dare to be bold". It was a small change from his 'dare to be wise' sapre audre' motto. If Shri Brahmanyan took offence for that am willing to apologise. At the same time i expect him to have the courtesy to clarify his statements of கூத்தாடி and வீட்டையே ரெண்டாக்கிடுவன்

Regards.
